Exquisite gourmet Mexican cuisine. Note to self: when we return to Guadalajara come back here again and order the first item on the main course menu which is the stuffed bell peppers. The ambiance here is wonderful and there was a piano player performing throughout the meal.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this vibrant restaurant that puts a delightful flair on traditional Mexican cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the inviting atmosphere—pops of colorful lanterns, beautifully patterned table linens, and a stunning mural near the bar that all complemented each other tastefully. The service was attentive and friendly, making our ladies’ lunch all the more enjoyable. I ordered the shrimp avocado salad, which was absolutely delicious—fresh, tangy, and perfectly balanced with high-quality ingredients. Adding to the wonderful ambiance, a talented pianist played live music throughout our meal, enhancing the experience with a relaxing and elegant touch. Overall, this restaurant offers an excellent combination of great food, inviting decor, and warm hospitality. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a fresh take on classic Mexican flavors in a lively yet welcoming setting.

Extremely wonderful place. Loved it. Upscale, but worth every peso.

This place doesn't get the recognition it deserves. The food is among the best if not the best food I've had in this region of Mexico. I had the Duck. It was fall off the bone tender and delicious. My husband had the steak and it's was one of the best, cooked to the perfect medium rare temperature (hard to find that in this region). We had the Goya's Mosaic for the appetizer it was so good. They combination of the salmon, cheese cucumber and the other sides just splendid. 100/10 highly recommend. I'll be going back again.

I liked this restaurant a lot! Its design is very nice, all decorations are beautiful. The food I ordered was tasty. Also the menu has a few very interesting items to try. Prices are a little bit high, but mostly reasonable. I absolutely recommend to check this restaurant!

The restaurant ambiance was relaxing with soft background music and table spacing that allowed private group conversations. The restaurant is open to the outside through window, and where trees grow through the roof. The bar is well stocked and very attractive. The Día de Muerte alter was set for past staff, pianist, and owner. Our meal included a bean soup that was so rich and tasty. The soup was poured over cheese, tomato and cucumber at the table. The main meals were ribeye and pork, the latter falling off the bone and so tender and tasty. The meal came with bread rolls and twisted crackers and corn tortillas. I highly recommend the margarita. It is also very good and was perfect for the warm day. We finished the meal with flan which was accompanied with strawberries and raspberries. Thanks to Paco for great service.

I found El Sacromonte on a best of list for Guadalajara, and let me tell you it did not disappoint! The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. The atmosphere is what I think of as a traditional Spanish inspired Mexican restaurant. The ambience was magical to say the least. There is no reason at all you should move past this on your decision of where to dine if you are reading this. You have to try the Quesadilla, don’t worry it’s not what you would expect of a boring standard quesadilla. Instead, it was empanada style with strawberry aoli infused with rose. 5/5. Followed that with the Goya Mosaic. A woven smoked salmon with panela cheese. Gave lox and bagels vibes. Very good. 4/5 I had the duck entree, and it was the best duck dish I have ever had. The sauce was sweet yet savory. Paired with the duck meat and the beautifully fatty skin the was delightful and took the flavors to another level. 5/5. Finally, we finished with the Pollo Mole. This was fantastic and exactly what you think of when having a mole. 5/5. The 4.6 rating is to low for this restaurant , seriously. Don’t miss out on an amazing experience. I feel horrible that I can’t remember my waiter’s name but he was excellent! I don’t speak that much Spanish, however he made me feel like I was doing a great job and made the overall experience something I will never forget about my trip to Guadalajara.

I can describe it as a disappointing visit, expectation were for a recommendation for a place with surprising plates and flavorful preparation. This looks like an old place that has lived their best times, living from memories and not reinvesting in renewing it. Food is a great idea on the menu, half way good in presentation and disappointing on the flavor, lack of taste and not those expected explosive ideas came to reality, even a simple lemonade was plain. Service is old school, not meaning anything against older people, it is simple that they are not experts on their dishes and they are not able to transmit an experience. I would not recommend, it is not the worst place because they still have that flame in the menu ideas, but they do not materialize them.

Yelp
The food not only has great depth, but you can tell the creators of this restaurant have gone to great lengths to make sure they created a great experience. If I'm ever in this city, this place is a must for me.

Yelp
Our waiter was good and the ambience was nice. Nice selection of food. I had the salmon plate. The salmon did not have really any flavor, but the sauce underneath with the vegetables was tasty. My coworkers really enjoyed the Los Chiles Del Septiembre De Iturbide.

Yelp
We were delighted to be able to go to dinner after 9 pm as we tend to eat late. The food was good and the service was very attentive, although we were one of only two tables filled. The dining room is beautiful with incredible lighting and other decor. But it's hard to understand how a traditional restaurant such as this stays open with so few diners. I feel that if it was in another town the place would be packed.

Yelp
The food here was delicious, the restaurant is clean, and the servers were great. I am so upset that I was feeling sick on this day so I couldn't enjoy the full dining experience. However, I tried the chicken with huitlacoche and Chiles en nogada. Both dishes were honestly kind of on the sweet side, so I didn't love that, but other than that the flavors were great. This was my first time trying these traditional ingredients/dishes and I just enjoyed it so much. Also, for the appetizer, I got a salad and the olive and anchovy dressing is out of this world. I want that recipe so badly!!

Yelp
Hola, from Guadalajara! El Sacromonte restaurant is Superb. Ok, I went here with a classless friend. I don't think he ever been to a classy restaurant before, in his Life, and in it showed. He gobbled down his soup, and threw back his wine like it was a shot. He was acting like a teenager constantly on his phone. I was totally, embarrassed for a man his age to act infantile while dining out. So, now that you know the distraction to the elderly waiter, I only took off 1 point due to the fact we asked for water that after paying the check realized we never got it. A waiter shouldn't ever forget a request. Also, the waiter did pass me the food from the front not the side of me. He caught himself, but I was in awe that a waiter of his age didn't have restaurant etiquette. Now, for the food, I ordered the Goya's Mosaic, it's sliced Salmon set on a Feta cheese like cheese w/ side garnish of parsley, basil & a garlic I think. My crazy friend had the Coyacan Soup, but not what you think remember it's a classy restaurant. It was a small minced preparation placed in the center of the plate & then the waiter poured a creamy wine sauce based soup on top. Oh, I chose a Merlot which went well with both meals. It was delicious; both dishes were. Bread was warm as it should be. Yum! So, if you're in the neighborhood of 1418 Pedro Moderno it's located on the same side adjacent. Oh, they do have Valet, here. So, come out, and have some fun with your special lady. A mature ambiance, where ppl sit back enjoy their meal, drink wine and enjoy their company of friends. I think it's a perfect spot for a 1st date if you're trying to impress the girl. Only if she has class, and isn't only a burger girl. Nothing, wrong with burgers, but like my friend who embarrassed me, and he's just a friend. I'll definitely, go here again, when I'm in town on business again. Superb!

Yelp
Perhaps one of the best restaurants I've ever experienced. If you can then you must have lunch or dinner here! It's quite an experience. Not only is the place beautiful, the service is superb and most importantly the dishes are amazing. That's right I said amazing.

Yelp
While on vacation I visit this new place that came up on my yelp it was only like 15 minutes away from my hotel where I stayed very impressive. This is an upscale little bit more romantic much more older people very quiet and our waiter was quite a young man at heart. He gave us a rundown on things to try it was super amazing it was beautiful and yes romantic. It is sort of hidden weight of its own trees and beautiful flowers I felt like a Villa. We had a wonderful delicious soup that unfortunately I wasn't able to write this wonderful review with the bad Internet service I was having. It was a great experience I definitely have to come back to have other food on the menu.

Good service, ask for Paco el bueno. Food is good, there's live piano music and the food is good quality!

Yelp
The food it's nice and it's not expensive, could be a good option if you have enough time and patience. The service takes too much time for everything. Btw... Don't go for desserts, there is not something special.

Yelp
Very excellent food the flavors is an explosion in your mouth. This place is one of the best restaurants I've tried here in Guadalajara. I love it my hat goes off to the chef

Yelp
Traditional, charming, historic restaurant in Guadalajara. Their strength is in the mole, the sauces, the way they treat their chiles - burn'em, smok'em, great flavors. Portions are very large, sauces are rich - check out the vegetarian crepe. Service is kind and professional. Go with a big appetite!

Yelp
Service is second to none and the food is made with compassion and love. One of the best restaurant experiences I've had as a whole.

Yelp
If you are in Guad, this is a must try spot! I have been here many times over the past 5+ years and it never disappoints for a well prepared traditional meal in a relaxed setting.

Yelp
Great authentic Mexican Food. Had the ribeye and it was superb. My pals had the mole and pork shank. Both were awesome. You have to try the quesadillas and appetizers. Great tamarindo margarita as well as beer and tequila selection.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant, great food and super service. We stopped in for lunch and a man was playing the piano. The décor is old world Spanish with a Moorish influence. Great paintings on the walls and very clean. The food is top-notch. We had the quesadilla, which is more like an empanada, that was oozing with melted white cheese and topped with strawberry sauce. It was sweet and more of a dessert but oh so good. We shared a house specialty a poblano pepper topped with pomegranates and a cream sauce. A sweet tasty dish. Excellent! For dessert we choose another house specialty the the corn ice cream In a corn tortilla also very good. They have a nice selection of premium tequilas. A little pricey but was a very good choice.

Yelp
We came here for a celebratory dinner and couldn't have been more pleased. Our waiter, Juan, was pleasant and attentive. We started with the quesadilla, which I agree is like an empanada with a raspberry sauce...very fun and delicious. We shared the flank steak with a pistachio pesto sauce very tasty and cooked perfectly. We visit Guadalajara frequently and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Food and ambience was excellent. My nine year old loved the salmon dish... and he's a picky eater!

Yelp
Great Chile en Ahogada! The service was amazing and the food was delicious, my dish and my Mom's were a bit cold for my taste but still tasty. Tried their Mango Ceviche as well and my fiancé tried their Rib Eye and Sopa de Fideo, he liked both.

Yelp
Been here 10+ years ago when working in GDL. Revisited today and wonderfully surprised at the comfort, excellent food and professional wait staff. You don't find many restaurants with older, experienced staff. This is a great re-discovery. Authentic Mexican food with good varied menu.

Yelp
food was spot on and service was excellent. prices were on the higher end but the experience is worthwhile. the bullfighter memorabilia adds a great romantic atmosphere
