El Santo

Great lunch or dinner spot. We ordered 2 appetizers for lunch (guacamole and queso) both which I recommend. The quessabirria was one of the best I have had in the lower mainland. The options for cocktails was great, more than just classic margaritas. The portion sizes were fairly big so recommend sharing mains if ordering appetizers. The service was great and they very attentive.

Had a great dinner at El Santo. The Carne Ahumada was incredibly tender and paired perfectly with the mashed potatoes. The Pan de Elote was my favorite and totally exceeded my expectations—fluffy, slightly sweet, and amazing with the jalapeño jelly. The Pastor Tacos were super flavorful too. And a special shoutout to our server Roberta, who was so warm and full of smiles. Would definitely come back !

I'm great atmosphere and excellent service. We have not had a lot of the menu yet but it has all been amazing. Do a barbacoa tacos and the quesoberia appetizer were the two best things I've had but the fish tacos come in at a close second. I would also highly recommend the Caesar with mezcal. I look forward to making this a regular dinner date location.

The restaurant looks really nice, but the customer service was terrible. We came during happy hour, which we didn’t realize only includes drinks and chips. When I asked for a menu, the staff just said they didn’t have it until happy hour was over — no explanation, no suggestion, nothing helpful. With no other options, we ordered chips and three salsas. They came out in less than a minute, which felt odd — the salsas were very cold, like straight from the fridge, and the chips were so hard they were difficult to chew. We also ordered tacos (2 for $17). They were decent — nothing special, but definitely better than the chips and salsa. Nobody checked on us or asked how things were. Overall, the place looks good, but the service and food quality were disappointing.

Wonderful atmosphere and great customer service! Kudos to our server Roberta, who was exceptional and very attentive! Tacos were delicious, but the brussels sprouts were a surprisingly beautiful choice! 😋😋😋

I loved the energy and smile of the waitress but very, very disappointed with the food. The al pastor tacos felt we were eating burnt bits of meat. Felt horrible…ngl The pescado tacos was 90% batter and 10% fish. Let’s not forget that EACH OF THR TACOS WAS $17!!! They were having a Drag show? at that time, no problem with the show at all but it was so loud we had no choice to eat outside in the cold. Was unsatisfied in general.

Great ambience, great service. Food was fresh and well made, served quickly despite how busy the restaurant was. Roberta is such a great server and offered great recommendations accommodating our needs. I recommend making a reservation ahead of time.

I took my girlfriend here tonight for date night and we had an outstanding experience. Estefania was our server. She was charming and personable with great knowledge of the menu and offered us recommendations that did not disappoint! We decided to do the 4 course set menu for both of us. We order the "Pan de Elote" as well because my girlfriend loved it last time she was there. The restaurant was packed but, our food came out at a nice pace with time in between to savor each course. The "Carne Ahumada" (see pic below) was top shelf; perfectly cooked flank steak with a wonderful smokey flavor created by burning dried corn leaves. Lastly, our desserts were awesome! My girlfriend go the churro but I went with the Mole (only on the set menu) which was something else! If you like a fresh take on dessert this is the way to go. We'll be back again!
