"I don't need your money and I don't care." Is what the El Sol owner, Vanessa, said to me. Such an incredibly rude and unprofessional business owner with several awful, dated rooms at her property. I will post pictures of the awful rooms given.||Due to COVID in 2021 my husband and I had to cancel our family trip to the El Sol. At that time my husband and I asked the owner of El Sol, Vanessa, to please keep our money as we will rebook and stay next year. We did just that and checked in a few days ago - July 15, 2022. (AND we MADE the REBOOKING in August of 2021). ||Upon checking in Vanessa gave my family and I the worst 2 rooms at her property in the bottom corner. When I saw the rooms I asked to moved. Vanessa said there were no other rooms and had nothing to offer. However, our friends, who decided to come with us on this trip and BOOKED only 8 weeks ago, AND checked in at the VERY same time we did were given a top level beautiful room with a sitting area. When I asked Vanessa why we didn't get that room or a room like our friends did, Vanessa rudely said there was a last minute cancellation and she gave that room to our friends and she had nothing left for me. ||I do not understand why I wouldn't be given the better room when Vanessa/El Sol had my money and booking for 2 years for "the best available rooms."||When my husband and I booked we asked for "the best rooms available with the best views." We told Vanessa we have 3 children ages 18, 16, and 12 and we do not need the rooms to be close together. ||The rooms we were given had moldy bathroom showers, cracked tile, a broken shower head, seating for one, a tiny view, a dungeon feel and, in the double room, one had to stand across the room from the bed to charge electronic devices. It truly felt like we were in a run down dungeon, except when you went up to the pool area, which did have nice views. ||Vanessa the owner treated my husband and I with disregard and acted like she had the only hotel on the island and it was a take it or leave it proposition. She offered us absolutely NOTHING, but was quite rude. ||This was our first vacation since COVID. We checked out early due to the dungeon feel of the room with no real seating, moldy, cracked bath tiles and a broken shower. We were utterly disappointed, especially seeing the upgraded room my friends received and booked only 8 weeks in advance. My only speculation as to why Vanessa gave the better room to my friends who booked at the last minute is that my friends used a travel agency, Brownell Travel, which probably booked the room for triple the price I paid. ||When we checked out early Vanessa told me she, "did not care and did not need my money." Truly unbelievable!!||After leaving the El Sol we went to The Porto Delfino Hotel, which is about 1/2 mile from the El Sol. It is LOVELY!! Amazing views, great pool, clean rooms with nice furnishings, with balconies that have picture perfect views. And, most of all, the staff at Porto Delfino Hotel wanted us to be there. We would stay at the Porto Delfino again without a doubt! ||I would NEVER stay at the El Sol again and highly recommend that no one else do so either. The owner "does not need your money" and will give you the worst room at her hotel, while a last minute travel agency booking will get the best room over you, and the owner will treat you with utter disregard.
