El Tiradito, also known as the Wishing Shrine, is such a special hidden gem in downtown Tucson. We had the most beautiful experience there when our friend proposed to his girlfriend in front of the shrine. The atmosphere was so intimate and magical — surrounded by candles, heartfelt notes, and the energy of so many hopes and dreams left behind by visitors. It's a truly unique place where people come to make wishes and leave little notes tucked into the walls. There's something deeply moving about standing in a place filled with so much love, hope, and history. Whether you're looking for a moment of reflection or just want to experience a piece of Tucson's rich culture, this spot is absolutely worth visiting. If you ever find yourself in downtown Tucson, make sure to stop by El Tiradito. Light a candle, make a wish, and take in the beauty of this touching and historic site.

I have been visiting EL Tiradito Shrine since the 80s it’s always been a very special and sacred space always and every time I visit. I have celebrated many peoples life’s there though out the past 40 years personally. Have left many notes in the walls, many candles, photos and prayers. It’s always been a very comfortable outdoor place I have years and years of memories there. It’s casual and sacred all at the same time

Strange and interesting historical place. Lots of personal gestures and monuments to people that have passed recently. The paintings and the old well were unique. A quick stop here to take in some of Tucson history is well worth a visit while touring the city.

Super cute little shrine! Easy to miss but it has some really interesting history. Would recommend it be included in any little walking tour, close to downtown. Right next to a nice little cafe.

located in the old barrio section of Tucson. A memorial with a number of different legends. One legend is that a young son had an affair with an older woman and he was then killed by the woman's husband. No way of knowing the correct story but this has become a memorial that people visit, leave flowers, prayers written on small pieces of paper and inserted into the stone walls. Not worth a special visit, but a few minutes spent while visiting the barrio area is worthwhile.

Small unique spiritual site with a shrine to pay respects to those who’ve passed tragically. This spot has some historical significance and an interesting story behind it.

You will get goosebumps. Such a fantastic, solemn place of culture and human history. Without a doubt this shrine and the surrounding area is a must for any visit to Tucson. Finding parking can be a bit iffy but it's worth it.

It gives a flavor of the Barrio Viejo history. Not worth a special trip, but obligatory if doing a historical walk.
