Excellent food (beef menues) and yummy desert (chocolate cake with hot chocolate inside, plus a boule of vanilla ice cream). Best in town. Top wine and cosy atmosphere.

On a weekend trip to Bilbao, this was the only restaurant we went to for lunch that wasn’t some Tapas bits in a bar. We’d looked at it a couple of times and one lunchtime on the off chance asked if they could seat a table of 7. As it was they could and a great choice. We did see walk ins after us get turned away but it was an Athletic home game day. As well as groups of families eating here before going to the (early evening) match there were also birthdays, hen do’s and so on so a popular place. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I had the (sharing) chicken pieces As a starter and the Pigs Cheeks as a main course and we had a bottle of local wine with the meal. Those that had a starter paid €30 and those that didn’t €20. Well worth a visit.

We really enjoyed our late lunch which included a three course meal, all for 15.50 euro/person! We had a truffle pasta for starter, it was really good and tasted mushroom and a good amount of truffle. Maybe a little big portion for being a starter but should not complain. The entrecote was perfectly done at medium rare and the fish was also tasty. I checked the rates after the visit and I was really surprised by the low rates. We enjoyed every single meal and our visit!

The food was okay, but good deal for the price. Cerveza was good. The chicken and steak were slightly undercooked and came 30 minutes after the first dish of our meal. Servers were nice though, seems like a kitchen adjustment if anything—

We had booked a table here for my wife’s 50th birthday on a visit to Bilbao from Edinburgh. On arrival, our reservation wasn’t even acknowledged, there was no welcome, the service was beyond poor, communication was non-existent and the food was passable at best. The restaurant was clearly understaffed, but nobody was managing the customers or the kitchen, and the waiting staff didn’t seem to care. When it came to paying, I expressed our displeasure and expected some kind of compensation for the very long waiting times and terrible service, but this wasn’t forthcoming. A singularly poor dining experience in a city synonymous with good cuisine. Please avoid.

Very dissapointing experience in this city of great restaurants and pintxos bar. Veal steak was served cold and was not cooked well. Super small portion of red peppers. The sauce was sour and had no furher taste. Hake with rice was also cold and was a very small dish. Unattentive service, made several mistakes with the drinks. Only plus was an excellent Rioja of Ramon Bilbao. Don't go to ths restaurant. Felt like a tourist trap

We had a great lunch at the restaurant. In terms of price/value it was definitely worth it. The menu was diverse and the food was tasty and sufficient. The lunch menu was around 14 euros, with some exceptions if you wanted the entrecot, but it included two dishes, the dessert and the beverages. The service could be a bit better.

Considering what we paid, mediocre. Waiter did not speak English or anything other than Spanish/Basque. That is OK, we are the strangers. But the trouble we had getting his attention…. Every waiter looks around the place once in a while to see where he is needed. Every waiter takes empty plates and dishes from the table. I thought. Food was OK, not great, fried chicken not good (1 star!). Kids liked the desserts.
