El Viejo Café

This was our favourite breakfast spot in Antigua. They serve typical breakfast from the region. Due to the portion size you will be full until after lunch so it is perfect if you have a long day ahead. You can sit inside or outside in a courtyard. The staff is well-dressed en very friendly. The breakfast itself is really good, everything is made fresh. Their coffee is great as well. They even sell fresh pastries to bring with you for the rest of the day. Certainly a place you should visit!

This place was great! El Viejo Café has that rustic, cozy vibe you hope to find in Antigua. We stopped in for coffee, and let me tell you—the espresso was hands down the best we had during the whole trip. Seriously, it was spot on. My husband and I just had espresso, but a couple of our friends tried the desserts and couldn’t stop raving about them—super tasty. Now, I’ll say this: the service is a little slow, so don’t come here in a rush. But if you’re just chilling and enjoying the ambiance, it’s a lovely spot to relax. Overall, amazing coffee, yummy desserts, and a cute, laid-back place. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Antigua.

Staff’s are very nice and friendly, they will give you a good coffee first while waiting for your order. I ordered croissant with ham and cheese , one of my favorite meals so far .

This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy some delicious pastries. They have a nice variety including fresh bread, tasty dessert cakes, and helados. The almond croissants were my favorite because they are flaky, buttery, and just the right amount of sweet. They also serve great breakfast and lunch options. It is the perfect place to relax with a coffee and it is conveniently located in the heart of Antigua. Highly recommend.

If you’re reading this, just go there and try it! Great service. Fast too. Great coffee. Had chilaquiles and guate-style eggs, beans, and potatoes. The chocolate did not disappoint the most discerning tastes.

Came here for some pastries and drinks and they were excellent. The pastry was light and fluffy. Ham and cheese croissants were delicious, as were the strawberry cheesecake, chocolate knot, almond croissant and pecan pie. For drinks, we had a hot chai with milk, hot chocolate, latte and strawberry juice with milk. They were all delicious. Highly recommend this cafe/restaurant for breakfast, brunch or some morning tea.

Probably the best breakfast we had in Antigua. It's busy for a reason but the courtyard was lovely and they nailed it with the croissants- light, crispy and fluffy! Coffee was excellent too and a must visit place.
