We rented E-Bikes for 8 days. It was a mostly positive experience, with a few negatives. I will start with the negatives so that I can end on a positive note :)
We paid to have the bikes delivered, and selected a time that was available on their schedule. They arrived 45 minutes late. While it didn't have any direct impact on our plans for the bikes, it did put a bit of a cramp in our other plans, that were scheduled around the delivery.
There was almost no instruction given as to the operation of the bikes. While I understand that there are a lot of features and options, we were going to have these bikes for 8 days, and ended up needing/wanting to know things that were not explained. For example, how to turn the lights on. While we didn't plan to ride at night, having the lights on during the day is a key safety factor, in my opinion. Additionally, the helmets provided have built-in lights, but not only were they not charged, there was no mention of the fact that they were there.
One of the bikes had a loose kickstand. I was able to finger-tighten the screws a few times to keepi t falling off, but eventually, one of the screws came out completely, leaving only one screw to hold it, so I removed the stand completely. When I mentioned it to them, they did not offer to come fix it.
Now onto the positives.
I had several email conversations before booking, and they were very responsive and helpful.
The bikes themselves were in quite good condition, although the "power remaining" meter is far from linear. Several days we rode 10-15 miles and used only "10%" of the power with limited assist from the motor, and yet the day we rode 40 miles, the first half with even less assist than previously, and the last half with almost none, the battery cut off as we were coming up our driveway.
Would I rent again? Sure. The bikes are absolutely wonderful for riding 10-15 miles a day. I would get a car or scooter for longer trips - we were staying in Somerset, so a lot of time was "wasted" the day we went to St George's, just because the bikes are so much slower.
