We decided to give El Cielo Hotel a try after a wonderful experience at El Cielo Restaurant in Miami, stepping away from our usual stays at the Marriott. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, and our room was clean and visually appealing.
However, our stay was far from relaxing. Despite being located on a quiet street, the rooms are anything but quiet. The hotel is undergoing renovations, which means construction and drilling noises begin as early as 7 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m., often causing the rooms to vibrate. Immediately after that, loud music from the restaurant begins and continues until around 11 p.m., with bass so strong it feels like the speakers are in the room with you.
Unfortunately, we were not informed of the ongoing construction prior to our stay. When we raised our concerns with the front desk and concierge, we were told by Viviana at the concierge desk that we were welcome to leave—with our 22-month-old child in tow—which felt dismissive and unhelpful.
The room service menu is extremely limited, and no modifications or substitutions are allowed. The included breakfast offers only four preset options, again with no flexibility. This rigidity extended to all aspects of the service, making it particularly difficult to accommodate a toddler’s needs. The hotel does not appear to be child-friendly: there are no children’s menu items, no willingness to adapt dishes, no changing tables in the public restrooms, and the common areas are quite small.
On a positive note, the bellmen and housekeeping staff were kind, attentive, and went out of their way to make our stay more comfortable, especially with our daughter. Their efforts were greatly appreciated.
Overall, while El Cielo Hotel has style and potential, it currently lacks the comfort, quiet, and flexibility that travelers—especially families—need. If you're looking to relax, this may not be the right choice.
