From the vintage carpet flooring in the group picture to the soft candle-lit table setting, the ambience still feels intimate and conversation-friendly. 🍽 Food 🐟 Fish Makhmali Creamy and extremely soft — handle it carelessly and you’ll make a mess 😅. Texture was delicate, flavour balanced, and definitely memorable. Strong starter. 🍤 Fried Prawns Another star of the show. Perfectly crispy outside, juicy inside, and zero excess oil. Exactly how fried prawns should be done. ⭐ Bhetki Meunière – Elite Performer Fresh, high-quality fish with a buttery, lemony, peppery sauce that felt elegant rather than heavy. This is refined Park Street continental done right. Absolutely reorder-worthy. ⭐ Dum Ki Raan – Signature Worthy Properly tender and great for sharing. Spice level could be higher for those who enjoy heat, but it’s perfectly balanced for first-timers. Feels like a true house strength. Chelo Kebab Still iconic — but more because of legacy than current dominance in flavour. Rice was okay and the kebab lacked some juiciness. Good, just no longer the headline act. Sizzlers From the dramatic sunny-side-up presentation (as seen in the pictures) to tender meat and flavourful sauce — these genuinely delivered. Desserts like Brownie & Vanilla and Pineapple Blossom wrapped the night on a classic, indulgent note. 🍹 Drinks Mojitos were well balanced. The Peter Cat Cooler had that Saturday night kick (iykyk 😅). Jacob’s Creek wine did its job — the brand carries its own reputation. 🤝 Service Didn’t catch his name, but the young server handling our table was a true professional — calm, attentive and efficient with a group of 10. The restaurant is very good place to visit with your family. The ambience is well decorated and the staffs are really very good. All food items offered by the restaurant are good. We started with the Mutton Dum Ki Rani, which was exceptionally flavorful—rich, aromatic, and cooked to perfection. The Masala Kulcha complemented it beautifully, being soft, fresh, and perfectly balanced in taste. This combination was easily one of the highlights of the meal. The Chelo Kebab truly stood out as one of their authentic signature dishes. The kebabs were juicy, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavor, reflecting the restaurant’s legacy and expertise. A must-try for anyone visiting Peter Cat. The Grilled Chicken with sauce (sizzler) was well-prepared and tasted good overall. It was served on a sizzling platter with an appealing presentation, adding a premium and visually impressive touch. For dessert, we chose the Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream and Hot Chocolate. The flavors were rich and indulgent; however, the brownie felt slightly overcooked at the bottom and had become a bit hard. Aside from this minor detail, the dessert was enjoyable. The ambience is classic and elegant, with a timeless, old-world charm that truly defines the place. The warm lighting, comfortable seating, and calm atmosphere create a refined and pleasant dining environment. Overall, an impressive experience with high-quality food, excellent presentation, and a sophisticated ambience. Highly recommended.

A legendary and historic spot in Kolkata, went there especially for the Chelo Kebabs. The buttery rice, perfectly grilled kebabs, and runny egg on top make for a delightful combination. Also tried their Beckty Meunier and Fish Finger which were also perfectly cooked to perfection. The ambience has a premium old-world charm, and the service is excellent. Located in Park Street definitely worth for a visit.

The legendary Peter cat. It was my first visit. We have tried there famous mutton chello kabab platter, dry chilli fish. The taste was top notch. Best chili fish I ever had. Fish was soft, flecky, and flavourful. Mild ambiance. Service was good. Waiters are alws roaming around which might be a issue for discussing something in between.

The bhetki meunière was a classy contrast: buttery, delicate, and cooked just right, letting the flavours shine. We wrapped it up with a brownie topped with ice cream and warm chocolate sauce. The brownie was not sizzling, but the sweet brownie taste with cold ice cream and hot chocolate made it the best dish to finish with.

A true family favourite ❤️ I think this was one of the first restaurants I started going to as a child, and it has remained iconic ever since. It may sound cliché, but I still order the Chelo Kebab almost every time because they do it so well 🍽️✨ Peter Cat is truly a Kolkata classic. You really cannot go wrong here. If possible, try to avoid weekend evenings and special occasions, as you might have to wait in a queue for a while ⏳
