"A sleek and seductive nightspot in one of Barcelona’s coolest neighborhoods, El Diset is as slick as an after-dinner chaser. The dimly lit interiors look like what would result if Scandis ran out of light bulbs: a lashing of pale wood, low-hanging lamps, and the odd wine-insider’s guide—just to remind you what you came for. There are cocktails and beers, sure, but the Holy Grail is the wine selection—90 percent is Catalan. (We’ve never had a bad bottle here.) It's a well-heeled mix of couples and groups of friends. The vibe is buzzy and chatty; and don’t be put off if the place looks full—the staff has a magical way of making room, and are helpful and knowledgeable to boot. Seats along the front window are great for watching the local cool kids stroll by." - Gemma Askham

Atmosphere is amazing! The restaurant is wine oriented and they know their wines. They suggested two Spanish red wines, and they recommended a tasting. The food is really well balanced and the flavours are mouth watering. Highly recommended!

Probably the best Tapas we had in Barcelona. The Tostadas were awesome too. First tried the pulled pork and it was great, then the Sobrasada and it was pure poetry... Would recommend anytime!

I regret not taking pictures of the food—they are true artists! The cuisine was excellent, complemented by great wine, amazing service, and fantastic music. This place is always on my list, and I hope they have space available whenever I visit! 😅 hummus, eggplant with goat cheese, roast beef.. Are amazing

I've been there two times and will be back again. The place is really elegant. The selection of wine is really good and the food is amazing! The waiter that served me the two times was really sweet and welcoming. I will definitly recommand that place !

We tried pulled pork, asparagus and brie with fig and tuna tataki. Everything was delicious. Service was also great, they suggested us very well wines too. Strongly recommended.

I ride without a reservation at 4 PM. For the first time that day. The food was so good upon my return to the hotel my partner and sister decided they also wanted to go back that evening. Both visits were phenomenal. The service was great the food was great the location is in the trendy area and the wine was outstanding. The prices are completely reasonable and the portion size is just right. I recommend getting the guacamole dish with the Parmesan bass crusty bread I also recommend the spicy sausage and goat cheese. Also we had the beef tartare along with the hummus and carrots. Which were pleated like a piece of art. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Barcelona to come to this establishment.

From start to finish, our experience at eldiset was nothing short of exceptional. Matias, who looked after us, went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable evening. His wine recommendations were spot on, and his assistance with the menu was invaluable. Each dish we tried was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. A standout for us was the fried Camembert – so good, we had to order seconds! We'll definitely be returning on our next visit to Barcelona. Kudos to Matias and the entire team for their outstanding service and culinary expertise.

Tapas were awesome, a really nice place and great staff. Pulled pork and the jamon Serrano traded great. The portions were really big as well.

Yelp
Amazing service. Fantastic wine. Wonderful Jamon. And the best bread I've had on this trip to Spain.

Yelp
The service and ambiance: 5 stars. The feel is modern/chill. The waiter tolerated our sleepy whiny toddler and a couple of mini tantrums. The food: 3 stars. Concept is torradas, which is akin to tostadas on bread. Good menu selection although execution is disappointing. The white tuna is canned (though they did warn us about it - I just didn't hear it), the spicy beef tastes worse than our home made tacos. The only potentially redeeming dish was the spicy sausage and the desserts were decent. The wine selection is excellent and price is affordable (11 drinks, food for five adults for 150 euros). Not sure I would recommend this for dinner but is a good place to hang out and have a drink/light snack.

Yelp
I had dinner here twice when I was in Spain... way too long ago to even be posting this now. (Apparently I started a review, and forgot to submit it.) However, I still remember the delicious food and great service. I think we tried all of the glass bread dishes on the menu between the two nights. It gets busy - so get a reservation or get there early enough to snag a seat at the bar.

Yelp
Great food, good wine! Highly recommend if you're in Barcelona. I wish I remember the bartender's name she was really cute, & didn't mind that my Spanish is terrible. Her English was great thankfully and well the menus were in English & Spanish.

Yelp
Lovely spot. A bit dark, but romantic~ this place is all about the glass bread "torradas." They have a lot of choices, it was kinda hard to just pick three. Staff was accommodating, food was good, wine was good, & special treat in the end. Would definitely come back~ I wanna try the cocktails! Food: Toasted Bread with Tomato Nice and toasty, & not soggy~ yay! Iberian Bellota Ham Very generous portion, and also yummy~ eat it with the toasted bread! Guacamole on a Parmesan Base Simple guac, but the parmesan base was awesome. Nice appetizer~ Grilled Aubergine, Mozzarella, and Caramelized Onions with Basil Vinaigrette Was totally diggin' the caramelized onions. Spicy Sausage, Goat's Cheese & Honey I think it could be more spicy, but the combo was delicious. Sauteed Spinach, Artichoke Hearts, Sundried Tomatoes, & Toasted Almonds YAS. I think I liked this one the best out of all three. Cheesecake with Mango A bit sweet for me, but it's dessert, come on. La Bomba del Delta (Crema d'Arros Bomba) Special treat! Aka complimentary shot~ great way to end the meal!

Yelp
I won't be really unbiased when I'll describe El Diset. In my opinion it's one of the best place to have a tapas diner and drink various spanish wines. First let's talk about the location. The restaurant is based at few meters only of Centre Cultural i memoria del Born, int he middle of the most animated area in Barcelona : El Born. Let's just say that if you don't follow my hints and don't pay a visit to El Diset, you will find around many places to have other cocktails, other atmospheres, other grooves. Just walk through Carer de la Princessa and you'll probably stop by a place I've already visited. So, let's get back to El Diset. El Diset is a small restaurant in a small street of El Born. Not so easy to stop by it if you don't target it because it's not one of the main street of El Born, but the restaurant is always full and if you want a seat you'd better book before. I would say the place can host 40 to 50 persons. The light is quite filtered and soft. Huge light bubbles will definitely give a very sweet atmosphere to your diner. Well... Let's be honest... People in Barcelona tend to talk loudly so it may not be so sweet and romantic place depending of people around your table. Shelves are filled with bottles and are an invitation to taste them. The food is REALLY amazing and you shouldn't be disappointed whatever tapas you decide to try. You won't find fatty tapas. Expect here to find some well cooked ones, quite originals. My preference definitely go to Ham (you can't avoid ham in Barcelona...), Guacamole, ceviche and (forget your diet) croquetass. Just ask the friendly waiters about the best wines you should have with your selection of tapas. If the menu proposes some couples dish + wine, if you don't go for it then rely on the recommandations of the staff. They really know very well their wines and will sure find the best harmony between tapas and wine. If you want to try red wines i would suggest you Martinet Bru, Teixar (price of this last one can scary, but really the best I've drunk in BCN) or a Durona 100% sumol from Mont Rubi. You will find a good white wine, Testuan, made in catalunya at Cabrils, few kilometers of Barcelona, that will perfectly match with seafood, for instance perfect with salmon or ceviche. In El Diset, including the wine you can have a really really good diner for 30 euros by person if you don't choose too expensive wines. Just book your table and go for it. You really won't regret it. You can book on lower tables, more comfortable at the rear of the restaurant, or hight tables maybe a little more noisy closer of the entrance. PS : restaurant only opened on diner time / Two services.

Yelp
A great restaurant for good wine and a bite to eat. Relaxed atmosphere and filling tapas. Most come on toasts with 2 pieces per order. Unique combinations that pair great with their wines.

Yelp
Great service. Very clean and inviting. Gay and lesbian friendly. Fresh food that is more like Italian crostinis than tapas but truly excellent. Loved the spinach one and the guacamole was shockingly fantastic. French 75s and great and and I had a glass of wine with the big X on it which was good too.

Yelp
Happened upon Eldiset while exploring the alleys of historic Barcelona. Just wanted a place to sit, relax and hopefully enjoy some food and wine. We enjoyed wonderful tapas together with a great bottle of cava~ this with a great playlist of American soul: Motown music. Not to be missed

Yelp
Definitely one of the best restaurants I've encountered in Barcelona. Make sure to make reservations as the place was packed the entire time we were there. The atmosphere here is dark and cozy, but quite lively. The food consists mostly of tapas which our group chose almost at random. Some highlights included the ceviche served with semi-crisp plantains and the jamon iberico tapas dish. The drink options were pretty great here as well and quite cheap, so be sure to take advantage of that!

Yelp
One of the best bars in town. Period. Great cocktails and amazing tapas. We were in barcelona for the weekend and we went to this bar to check it out. The bar has a decent selection of cava and wines but the cocktails are amazing. The bartender Rodriguez is great in mixing something up for you - completely customized - based on what you like. We tried a few cocktails - Jamaican mule, margaritas, mojitos and they were all made well! I have to talk about the tapas here as it was amazing - We tried the croquettas and we had had a few all weekend but this one was so good that we went back the next day to eat them again. We also tried the bread with blue cheese, raspberry jam and green apple and bread with spicy chorizo which was great too... lovely place to hang out on a friday/saturday night. Not too noisy - you can have a decent conversation and the music is quite good. Can get a little too busy and crowded over the weekend so good to make a reservation. We had to wait on saturday night for about 45 mins. Im definitely going back here when in barcelona. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We went to El Diset on our first night in Barcelona based on our Airbnb host's recommendation, and we weren't disappointed. Excellent selection of tapas. We liked everything we tried, but the ceviche, Iberian ham, and "crystal" breads were our favorites. The drinks were great, too, and the whole meal was very reasonably priced. The restaurant/bar is cozy but doesn't feel too crowded, and overall, it has a very relaxed vibe.

Yelp
We had an extraordinary experience. Danny, our fantastic waiter from Chile, took his time and walked us through the options and menu items. We had the meat and cheese platter accompanied with a sparkling Cava followed by a salmon tartare (best I ever had) and spicy sausage dish. Wine pairing was great! Highly recommend!

Allen C.

Yelp
Good tapas. Server (waitress with curly brown hair) was rude to us. The people seated next to us and we just had to laugh it off because we had no clue what her deal was. She barely gave me eye contact. Maybe I bumped into her earlier that day. Anyway, to have a great Barcelona experience, the food is not worth the poor service. There were many tapa bars we went to that really improved our Barcelona experience ten-fold.

Yelp
You can see that I never give five stars, but making an exception for this place. I'm in Barcelona a LOT for business and -- forgive me -- find a lot of the tapas bars boring and formulaic. This place has an unusual mix of larger, main-course-sort-of dishes, plus smaller, hot and cold bread-based tapas. Pleasure to have a short but well selected list of Spanish wines (thank you!). Service was excellent and the cozy atmosphere was even better. Bill for six people, including ca. three courses per person, much wine, dessert, digestives, and coffee was EUR 200 (that would be your bar bill in the states!). Place is tiny, so book ahead if you want to make sure you get seated.

Yelp
Great tapas and excellent service. Different style with many hot and cold tapas served on crispy bread. Cool music and a very nice atmosphere.

Kevin M.

Yelp
Amazing !! My favorite place to eat in Barcelona. The service is also top notch. If you have the chance call and make reservations, they do 2 hr blocks and make you feel at home.. No better place to eat. IMHO

Kathy G.

Yelp
Great casual place! Slightly off the beaten path with unique tapas that are much better than the standard fare. The octopus with potatoes is especially good. Extensive and inexpensive wine list and interesting cocktail menu too. Don't miss it!

Roshan S.

Yelp
This is hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The food was absolutely incredible and I cannot give this place enough stars. It is a small restaurant and always packed by both locals and tourists so be sure to make a reservation well in advance. The eggplant was perfect a done of the best, if not the best, eggplant I've ever had. We had a big party and tried a lot of different dishes and every single one was amazing. You have to check this place out!

Yelp
Very lively place, the staff is super friendly. Great for a drink and small bites. Would definitely go back.
