Had a fantastic experience in the restaurant last night. Nora made recommendations from the menu that were just right. The oysters were very fresh. Service was great despite a large party near our table. Beautiful views over the river.

Very tasty food! The food here was really great quality and so were the drinks! One tiny bit of criticism (or advice...) - the waiter, though really friendly and welcoming, didn't seem to know much about the menu items (which he apologised for). I understand that it's a very new menu though and there may be new staff, but it's good to make sure the staff know the menu well. I'd still highly recommend to anyone visiting Cork!

Went to the Electric for Dinner on a Tuesday, lovely people working there, very good service and on top of all: sincerely the best mussels I‘ve ever had <3 topped with warm roasted ciabatta - a dish to die for! View from the fish bar is amazing. And if it couldn’t get any better: absolutely reasonably priced!

Food was delicious. Drinks were good quality and they had an interesting and varied selection to choose from. We did ring ahead to ask what time the early bird finished and was told it was on the whole night but on arrival the next day we were told we were too late for it, however it could have been that the downstairs bar was who we were on to and so they may not have known. The staff were very friendly, nice people and e atmosphere was lovely. It was not too loud but still maintained a nice buzz. The setting, location and layout of the restaurant was beautiful :)

I recently dined at Electric in Cork City Centre, and it was an outstanding experience. The ambiance was amazing, setting the stage for a memorable evening. The highlight of my visit was Jordan, the talented bartender, and his signature cocktail. It featured a unique blend of lemon curd and physalis (Groundcherry) flavors. The taste was unlike anything I've ever experienced – a delightful mix of sweet and tangy notes. If you visit Electric, ask for Jordan and his special lemon curd and physalis cocktail. You won't be disappointed. It's a unique and delightful addition to your dining experience.

Didn't know when walked in that they were only serving brunch. No one acknowledged us and had no idea the restaurant was upstairs. It wasn't busy and the bartenders could have looked at us to tell us but I eventually figured it out. Our waitress was very nice. I ordered a salad and glass of wine. It was okay but you need to love chickpeas. Hubby had a burger and beer and said "ehh". Very expensive for "ehh" food.

Amazing vegan 🌱 dishes and amazing drinks, the offers are really good and Japanese pancakes are the thing to try!

Yelp
A mixed bag Mussels were quite good. Dumplings - meat not tasty; cottage cheese and potatoes pretty good. Cesear salad VERY disappointing. Desert wonderful. In short, uneven. Service quick and friendly. Price appropriate

Yelp
If you don't like fish, this isn't the place for you. The restaurant is on the second floor and has nice views. Service was super nice and prompt. Food: - Steamed mussels - very good. The broth was a tad salty but I love salt so I was fine with it - Fish and Chips - just wow! The fish was cooked perfectly, nice and light. Piping hot when it was brought out to me. The breading was delicious, not over powering, and perfectly crispy. I tried so hard to finish it all but unfortunately was super full. Maybe I should've skipped the mussels and just gone all in on the fish and chips. The sauce with the fish was tangy and yummy. I think it was tarter sauce but I don't remember. The pea puree needed a little bit of salt. - Creme Brûlée - I was full but I can't turn down dessert. Luckily it was small and I was able to eat it all. It was tasty and the perfect ending to my meal.

Yelp
This place just bukakeed my face and mouth with flavor and originality. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would. I would, without a doubt, tongue a manatee's butthole to have something this sensational in my home town. Reasonably priced, any booze a normal person would want, fantastic views and seating arrangements.

Yelp
Electric is a interesting 3-1 combination. There is a bar on the first floor, the second floor is the restaurant but there is also a fish bar up there as well. Depending on what you are looking for this space can probably meet your needs. Our first time here we stayed at the bar. We made reservations and decided to grab a drink. They have a good drink menu and they make a passable drink. I had their mojito and it was good, but not the best I've ever had. The bar was quite though and we were able to grab a seat right by the river. When we came back the next night there seemed to be live music, so you are sure to get whatever you want here (quiet or lively). We enjoyed the restaurant quite a bit. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It was quiet enough you could hear each other, but it didn't feel dead. We also could see out on to the river from our table which was nice. The food was stellar. My husband raved about how good the fish was that he had. This place specializes in fish, so I'm not surprised. I went with the beetroot ravioli. I love all things beets, and when you add cheese and spinach I'm done. It was very well cooked and was very filling. I was quite happy with my choice even though it wasn't a fish dish. I went in slightly apprehensive about bringing my mom here (it seemed a little young and hip for her), but it was a standout for all of us in the end. Great place that can meet any dining need. 91/100

Yelp
I would like to give 3.5 stars... but let's from the beginning. The Electric is a "modern" styled family restaurant. The tables are quite close to each other. Anyway, the menu is limited, so is the wine card. I had the roasted chicken with French fries, my partner fish and chips. The fish and chips were nothing special, average tasting. The roasted chicken on the other hand had the real bbq taste, just awesome. The wine, a Rioja, was ok and worked fine with the chicken. As dessert I chose crème brûlée, which in this case was delicious. The usual espresso came with delay. In total, we paid 58 Euro, which was ok compared to the food and the really good and friendly service.
google avatar

Rolando N.

Yelp
If you are in the mood for fish and chips, this is the place. I ate an early dinner here yesterday. I have the crab claws starter, fish and chips. I also had the crime brûlée for desert. All of the dishes were excellent, but the fish and chips were the crown jewel. Service was prompt and friendly.

Yelp
This place is divided into 3 different menus. The bar, the restaurant and the fish bar. We sat at the fish bar (they only serve seafood at the fish bar) and it had an amazing view of the river! We watched swans swimming around the whole time. The food was delicious, we tried 2 different types of oysters, and Kilpatrick grilled oysters (they were ok, I wouldn't get them again) and the Battered oysters. The battered oysters were deep fried with pickled cucumber & pomegranate and they were amazing, definitely our favorite. We then had the seafood chowder that we really liked. For our entree we had the Cod & tiger prawn burger that had cucumber pickle, basil lime mayo and a zesty slaw. This burger was delicious and definitely a must try.

Yelp
Electric has very good food, excellent ambience, attentive and lovely staff. It is an excellent place if you are not in a pub mood.

Yelp
Came here on a sunny Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. There are lots of tables outside and a great mixture of a crowd from tourists to hipsters and hippies. I went straight to bar and ordered a couple of drinks. The barmen took my order, but then came back to me 10 mins later strangely asking me had I ordered yet and what would I like? And I thought I was drunk! The place is very nice inside and the bar menu consists of Tapas but there is a restaurant upstairs if you want a proper sit down meal (apparently the food is great up there). The Tapas consist of meat, fish, vege and cheese (literally) and you can order 3 dishes/sharer for €9.50. The portions are small though so I wouldn't bother sharing. Forgetful barman aside we loved the Electric and would recommend

Yelp
I ordered the marinated banana blossom, all right until it took less than 10 minutes to get the dish, I thought I was in a fast food shop despite the food not having the price of fast food. The marinated banana blossom is very interesting, but I didn't think it was cooked the right way, fried it with a lot of oil the dish was very oily the food was shining in oil. The tartar sauce that already has a lot of oil also the "toxic caloric banana blossom oil" with the oil-filled fries I popped the fries in the napkin that exploded oil. Had nothing to balance the oil in the dish since the dish is just oil, I tried to eat it but I got sick. Not even natural juice had on the menu, on the menu says the dish is cooked twice I thought was cooked in the oven or something like that not marinated in oil, since vegan food has to at least maintain freshness and delicacy on the food. For me this food that says "vegan" is an outrage to the original traditional vegan food

Yelp
Very cool spot. The artwork was amazing and the drinks were very good. They have an interesting cocktail menu I've never seen anywhere else.

Yelp
To start with, the salmon gravadlax is simply amazing. If you miss this appetizer you are missing something special. I had the pan-fried Seabass and it was excellent. Perfectly cooked, just flaky yet moist and tender. The sauce, potatoes, and green beans were very good. The fish is the thing.several at my table had steaks and they were good, but the fish dishes are the ting here!!!!

Yelp
We visit Electric on an ongoing basis. Food is always fab. Service is good and staff are fun. We've spent the last 2 New Years' Eves here and would certainly return! They offer great options for parties too!

Yelp
We really enjoyed our Electric experience! We were seated upstairs in a corner table that had an amazing view of the activities of Cork. My seafood linguine was very fresh and flavorful. My husband had the Hake and enjoyed it thoroughly. The drinks from the bar get an E for effort, but I would stick with a beer instead. Overall, this was a very enjoyable experience in Cork!

Yelp
Had a fabulous experience at this restaurant/pub. Our waiter Mark was not only attentive and genuinely nice, he also gave us tips about the menu that assisted us in our selections. Our party had a roast squash, quinoa & feta salad and a seared beef salad. Not only were they presented well, they were delicious. Since we were in Cork, we had to indulge in the local brews. Murphy's was a much more robust beer and Beamish was smoother and creamier. Both nice stouts. Since this was before 5:00, we used the bar menu which provided us a varied selection of choices. Definitely would come back.

Yelp
Delicious!!!! Had to go to the fish bar two nights in a row on our trip specifically for the oysters. Great oysters and Bloody Mary oysters. Fish tacos are fabulous!!! Highly recommend if you are in Cork!!!

Yelp
Whether the food or the first time I managed to get a perfectly poured Guinness on the trip or perhaps the most excellent company I had the fortune to share the evening with.. This was a 5star evening.. I had the mussels and they didn't disappoint... Well worth a visit !

Yelp
Nice place for a glass of wine and some small plates on a Saturday night. Some tasty vegetarian plates on the menu, I didn't have any of the non-veg items... The crowd that came in was diverse, friendly and it was a very comfortable vibe - older and younger people, some very dressed up and others dressed very casually. The service was friendly, even as the bar became more and more packed with people. We were there around 8pm, had no trouble getting a table at the window, and it got pretty crowded by 9pm, standing room only.

Yelp
Sauntered in of a Friday night, with substantially pregnant wife in tow. Two for dinner, please. Dining room is nice. Simple, and elegant. Service was outstanding. Steak was probably the best I had in Ireland, and my wife sighed repeatedly over her scallops and later her gnocchi. Bonus points for the thai mussels I had as a starter as well - truly excellent. I won't bore you with the details, since there was nothing to complain about (and that's all I do, really). Pay the place a visit and find out for yourself. Truly excellent.

Yelp
Great food, service and the atmosphere was really, well electric. Great place to have a snack, dinner or just drinks with coworkers or friends

Yelp
Stopped in after a tough day of sightseeing in Cobh and Blarney without a reservation. Squeezed us in and we had a nice table with a decent view. But no Beamish?!? What's with that? Anyway we tried the cheese and chorizo starter. Was delicious! Turns out this was the first time they offered it. Also had the seafood linguini dish. Very tasty. The whole combination hit the spot.

Being here with a group of friends. Good food (mostly sandwiches wrap or fish and chips) and good beer in a very nice place.

Yelp
I'm a little out of touch with my hometown and by a little, I mean a lot. So I was very happy to be surprised with an invite to The Electric Fish Bar. Electric indeed! Did someone say 'oyster bar'? I'm in! Upstairs in this bustling bar, past the restaurant and right over the water is the fish bar/tapas counter of The Electric. It's definitely light bites so if you've a hankering for Homer's All You Can Eat at The Frying Dutchman, I'd say go somewhere else. I was tempted by the ceviche but it seemed a little blah looking, so ordered up seared tuna, patatas bravas and oysters. The tuna was 4 delicate slices with wasabi, lime and ginger garnish. Delicious! But still hungry! The patatas bravas came, disappointingly, with no sauce and were more glorified roasted potato cubes. The oysters were good but, again disappointingly, lacking with just lemon and Tabasco. No migonette or cocktail sauce? Heck not even horseradish. Dessert utterly redeemed itself. Rich chocolate cake that was sin itself! And a pot of strawberry cheesecake, so fresh and topped with whipped cream I could have sold my soul for another taste! This is a great bar, by Cork standards. On the pricey side for sure but 3 oysters and a pint of Guinness for €7 is a good deal!

Yelp
This is a buzzing, hopping place, especially downstairs where the bar is. If you are upstairs for dinner and want a bar drink they have to hustle downstairs to get it. Yeah. We ordered a bar drink. The waitstaff is international, friendly, professional and they seem to actually enjoy their jobs. The food is quite good, we were pleasantly surprised. There are elements of Irish cuisine made modern. We had a bottle of wine with dinner that was reasonably priced and very good. The seasonal board is highly recommended. It had a lovely lamb tagine, a leek tart, and a few other goodies. It is perfect to share with one other person, since it is quite large. I followed up with a steak, it was done perfectly, accompanied by potatoes, onions, vegetables. Good and filling too.

Yelp
I'd have given this place more stars as the food was outstanding. However, there are a couple of issues regarding flexibility of the staff/chef/management. There are prawns available on the menu as an add on to steak, yet they will not serve them ala carte. We asked for extra bread with the chowder. Without consultation or advisement, we were brought and charged for an entire bread board. Inconsiderate and unprofessional, more so, hugely disappointing. Like I said, food was very well done. Just don't expect a personalized dining experience for the price you will pay.

Yelp
ELECTRIC 10.02.11 Just a few years back, I had my first encounter with Sauerkraut, in an Austrian monastery on the banks of the Danube. Not a very pleasant meeting, very sharp stuff indeed and the English ex-pat alongside was having a laugh: I told you so! Got back on the boat and headed for Vienna. A few days later at a Heurigen (wine tavern that serves food, and the only place I ever got wine in a half-litre tankard ) near the city, the Sauerkraut was on the menu again. Never afraid to research in depth, I tried it again and found it much milder and every enjoyable. And, thankfully, it was the latter type (this from Alsace) that accompanied my Pheasant (€20) on a dinner visit to Electric. Bacon and Morteau sausage were also in the pleasing mix, along with some mashed potato. A really well balanced dish and one happy customer. The other side of the table was delighted with her Roast free range chicken with carrots, parsnips, goose fat roasties and onion gravy (€17). The chicken was exceptionally flavoursome, the whole combination so well done and a pleasure to eat. We had skipped the tempting starters and so had room for desserts. Again these were top notch. The Cocktail Alexander (brandy panacotta with espresso chocolate mousse) looked classy and inviting and it sure was a treat. Unusually, I went for the tri-partite Chocolate Explosion (€8.00): a dark mousse, a light mousse and a chocolate cake, each separate in the well presented dish. Quite a substantial dessert but there was nothing left! Drinks included Brown Brothers late harvested orange muscat (€4.5 a glass), Les Jamelles 2008 Vine De Pays d'Oc Merlot (€4.9) and NZ Old Coach Road 2009 Nelson Riesling (€5). Decent wines at decent prices. The new restaurant is on the second floor with views, depending on where you are seated, over South Mall, end of Grand Parade and the adjacent river. It is a very pleasant place to visit with good food and good people at all levels of the interaction. Choucroute in France 22.10.10 Made an initial call to Electric, Cork's newest pub which opened Wednesday evening. And there's still a fair old buzz there as the final touches are being put to the restaurant upstairs and to the exterior. The bar though looks smashing; loads of comfy seating and no shortage of staff either and I enjoyed my cup of morning coffee. Great to meet hard-working Denis O'Mullane and Ernest Cantillon, and also Aidan Cotter from Heineken, making sure that Guinness weren't having it all their own way this Jazz weekend.

Yelp
After reading all the positive reviews I put this on my "must try" list. We walked in and was just standing there waiting to be seated not knowing the main restaurant was upstairs and the 3 workers behind the bar didn't acknowledge us to at least point us in the right direction but I figured out the restaurant was upstairs. Anyhow once upstairs we were immediately greeted by a very nice young lady and we sat at a nice table. We were sooo disappointed they only serve brunch on Saturdays (Sundays too!) because I was looking forward to trying some of the entrees on their main menu. Anyhow we ordered drinks. Tried the Chieftains Beer and it was great! I had the "Gubbeen Chorizo, Chickpea, Cherry Tomato & Roast Red Pepper Salad". It was okay but to much lemon in the dressing (if you get this salad ask for the dressing on the side). Corn would be a great addition to this salad! Husband had the beef burger and he said it was dry and he didn't like the bread. Service and atmosphere was nice (upstairs! )

Yelp
The best roasted vegetables that I have ever had. The 12 oz NY steak was amazing with the pepper sauce and the cream brulee was to die for. Amazing place with all the hip people of Cork in attendance.

Bob G.

Yelp
Great indoor/outdoor bar on the river. Great college hang out bar and cool outside grass -board work plaza on the river.

Tom R.

Yelp
Good pub food but the worst service. Might be a great place but the service (or lack of service) really detracts from the positive reviews. Had to chase down someone to take our order, again to get silverware and a third time to get a check/pay. Someone needs to re-visit Customer Service 101. Not worth your time/money.

Yelp
A great place to start a welcome, on a visit to Cork. We were planning on dining at another restaurant in the area and they only took reservations. I asked the waiter if he had any recommendations for another seafood restaurant in the area, and I'm glad my family and I paid The Electric a visit. It restaurant is very clean, friendly & inviting. The food was fantastic. We had the Lamb, the Fish & Chip, and the Salmon. Each one was fantastic. The waiters were superb ! There was live music by a Guitar soloist. Highly recommend you pay a visit. The price is worth it.

Leah D.

Yelp
I had a Group On deal or one of those things people are in to now, and it was a good deal. 2 mains and 2 deserts for x amount. I bought two. One for mommy and daddy and one for me. We went as a celebration of a family event and let me tell you! What a DISAPPOINTMENT. The food was cold when it came out, and it was very hap-hazardly delivered to the table. The portions were MINISCULE. As in, if you were having a 12 course meal, you would expect having a small portion, but not this. We ordered 2 alcoholic drinks, (again, celebrating) and 12 euro was our bill. For one cocktail and one beer. Not even a house beer. It was a bud! So over all, food too slow and cold, and way over priced drinks. Would never go back to such a pretencious place again.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
Food was solid. Server's attitude was awful and she clearly had a problem with Americans. I was very disappointed after our hotel talked great about this restaurant. The girl that delivered our food was friendly and was a bright spot. Overrated.
google avatar

Pat M.

Yelp
Good food and live music on a Friday night. Good small plates as well as nice meals. Enjoyed a pint at this upscale pub

Yelp
Lovely spot by the river in Cork City. Had a really nice steak sandwich on ciabatta. Would recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
If there was ever a saying that summed up Electric then its"sure its grand". Nice decor, setting and layout. The staff are efficient but have notions of grandeur. Food is fine, menu offers choice and portions are decent. It is pricey though and tbh its not justified. There are far too many good restaurants in Cork to ever feel the need to fork out your money in Electric
google avatar

Dennis B.

Yelp
Fabulous, creative, fresh fish, delicious and fun!! I ate at the fish bar and the food service and atmosphere made for a wonderful experience. I am coming back for the main restaurant... make reservations
google avatar

Yelp
Waited over an hour for cold and overcooked food. Was disappointed based on the great reviews
google avatar

Vanessa P.

Yelp
I came here with a friend for lunch one day with the intentions of trying some good quality seafood - a local pointed us to the direction of Electric and we definitely did not regret our decision to try it out. We sat in the "seafood bar" which had some good views of Cork and decent prices on small bites. The food was amazing and so was the service. I do have to comment on how delicious their special was that day, the salmon burger! Mmm, still craving it and it's been over a week!
google avatar

Colin R.

Yelp
Ate there last night and it was wonderful again. We ate in the Fish Bar section which in informal and a little noisy but the fish is great and portion sizes are nice and not overwhelming. I have been there 5-6 times over the last couple of years and it is always a please. Enjoyed the fish chowder and the Turbot main last night.

Jess S.

Yelp
Love this place. Cheap cheerful and even more beautiful at Christmas times. Lovely atmosphere in there always.
google avatar

Dan F.

Yelp
Cool decor but definitely hipster. Food was ok. Tapas spicy meatballs saved my dining experience there....they were excellent. Some tap beers were sold out and they were left with the run of use mill ones. Neat decor which seemed to be the main attraction.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
Always great in summer. Been there twice. Staff wee awful!

Yelp
Popped in for a bit of food and a drink with the hubby while we were in Cork. We did not have reservations, so we found a spot in the bar area and ordered off of the bar menu. I had the crab ciabatta, and he had the chicken sandwich. The crab ciabatta was a piece of ciabatta with smashed avocado, rocket (arugula), and topped with very finely flaked crab. I was expecting the crab to be larger pieces, but it was tasty. My husband's sandwich was fantastic. I think I preferred it to my dish. They feature a large cocktail list with an entire page devoted to gin cocktails, which is great if you're into gin. Personally, I think it tastes like drinking a Christmas tree. I did have their version of an Old Fashioned. Being a bourbon drinker, I was intrigued with their take. It was sweet and had a very orange taste and nose. If you're on the fence with bourbon, this would be a good "cocktail with training wheels"

Yelp
Great menu, hard to decide. I chose the fish & chips they are famous for. Fish had a light crispy crusting with tender delicious meat on the inside. Homemade tartar sauce! Serving size was generous. My only drawback was the temperature in the dining room, SO HOT! I understand no air-conditioning but open the windows. Everyone was sweating. We left to have dessert elsewhere.

Yelp
Was here for the first time at the weekend. Great place! Nice decor, really buzzy crowd and good music on a Saturday night, and also rather high quality food (we were having finger food for a party of 10) - was above the usual "plate of brown" served by lots of places. This was classy from end to end., Add to that a selection of craft beers - what's not to like??!! :-) Would highly recommend for an evening out in Cork - and will definitely be returning when I'm next there.

Yelp
Paid my first visit to this place and really liked it It has loads of outdoor seats for that one-day-a-year when you can sit outside. It also does pizzas (that I didn't get around to trying), friendly service and a view of the river.

Yelp
Unlike most of the other places I ate in Cork, the servers here were very attentive. Food was delicious, especially the risotto. Nice interior, although I was a little hot inside the restaurant, more air flow would have been nice. A little on the pricey side, but worth it overall.
