Eleftherios Venizelos House

Such a fascinating museum. I knew very little about this former Greek Prime Minister before but I left with such a strong impression of how important a figure he was in shaping modern Greece. The museum is beautifully set out with lots of explanations in English and Greek throughout. There are many very interesting and relevant items from his life and the bullet ridden car stands out as an example of not only his incredible personal history, but as an extraordinary exhibit. The young woman on the front desk was extremely helpful and the cafe/bar area was a lovely quiet spot to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of our tour.

Enjoyed this beautiful home of Eleftherios Venizelos with historical time line in Crete's history. A must see and incredible day trip. Afterwards we immersed ourselves in a walk by the homes sea side which was also depicted in his art collection. Our sea stroll ended in the city of Chania, where we enjoyed an incredible lunch with views of the lighthouse.

This beautifully restored house was well worth the visit. I enjoyed learning about the life of Greece’s most fascinating and influential leader. The house is slightly outside of the tourist center of Hania but just a 10 minute cab ride and couple of blocks from the archaeological museum. Cute outdoor cafe with jazz music playing in a peaceful garden.

This is definitely one of my favorite places in Chania. I am surprised how friendly the stuffs are and how well the house the preserved. All the items are well displayed, and with the app, you can scan any WR code and find out the background story behind the item. The garden is so lovely and well designed. First floor is my favorite because the book room and the room with fresco’s are absolutely amazing! The second floor is ok, but I do really like the piano and the balcony. The third floor is for presenting some of his personal belongings and some stuff made and named after him. Overall, I love this place. Highly recommend it!

Well-preserved house and well-structured exhibition with many interesting historical objects. Each one has a QR code allowing to access a description on the museum app, which is free to download. The information is available in Greek, English, German and French. I think it could be improved to contain more historical context for foreign visitors, nevertheless interesting. Plus there's also a cool space with educational games for kids in the attic.

A very nice and well-kept house full of ancient forniture and some nice 20th century finds of the family. I think he was a very important character of Greece and a tourist can't appreciate it completely.
