A tourist cafe with top of the range prices. Staff were OK, but certainly not there for their charm. Coffees were good, kids hot chocolates good. Given the location it would be easy to make something that wowed visitors and added to the experience. This cafe doesn't. But if you are hiker it does its job.

A great disappointment, so inferior to what they used to have. Now it is a very small cafe, a few small tables inside and then only high chair seating outside in a covered area.
Food is pre-made and heated up when ordered, very basic and very overpriced menu.
But at least the staff were friendly and helpful.

Picked up coffee and teas and ham cheese tomato on Turkish bread for 3 of us. Total $76! At $18 per sandwich I was expecting a treat. Bread was so dry and stale it was not edible. Unfortunately we were too far away by the time we ate. Otherwise we would have returned them. Very disappointing.

The cafe prices are beyond a joke. I understand it is remote but charging $10 for a plain croissant or $5 for a can of coke is just a joke.
I paid $24 ($18.50 for a small chicken wrap) and a small coffee. The coffee was decent and the wrap had flavour at least. I’d recommend preparing in advance and not buying any food here.

To all Coeliacs a heads up - yes, they have food GF listed. Unfortunately, the food is at the bottom of the cake/slice cabinet. I was advised they couldn't change the cabinet placement to eliminate cross contamination. They did offer to make a sandwich, but I was not willing to go ahead.
A positive- the coffee was good.

If you’re coming down from the mountain and need food it’s worth going to. The coffees were average at best, staff were nice, but it is a pricey spot. Be warned on the ham and cheese croissant, it’s $8.50 but it’s a diddy little thing as you can see. And somewhat burnt. However the caramel slice was a delicious little square, although also small.

The shuttle bus drop-off point is near this cafe. Just finished the cradles mountain hiking, and we wanted to get some hot drinks
Busy. Simple setting. Only a few tables for dine in. Order & pay at the front desk
Not waited long. Pick-up counter and self-service corner are just next to the cashier but close to another exits.
Hot Chocolate / Hot Chai Latte, $5.5/small ($7/ large): ok, expectedly slightly more expensive than CBD Cafés.

Hits the spot after a morning of exploring! Chicken and Beef burgers were made hot to order and served on a fresh brioche bun with simple salad. Both $16 each. Best value you'll find at Cradle (compared to Peppers bistro the only other spot for food) nothing gourmet but recommended!
