Elephant Bookstore

I was on a work trip to Sofia and passed this shop in the morning as I walked to the office. I made a point to go in on my way back to the hotel. It was everything I love in a book shop, books, books about books, translated books, memorabilia, and an array of merchandise from Harry Potter, and other epic tales. There were modern and slightly less modern authors, and if I had had room in my suitcase, I would have loaded up. There were postcards and magnets, card games and colouring books, kids books, books for grown ups and notebooks, pens and even barbering blades and equipment. Also, and very importantly, it had A/C, which was vital as it was 28-30oC outside. Well worth a visit and the owner/manager is lovely.

Lovely book shop+. The book collection contains lots of English books and Bulgarian literature translated into English. Great to find some special gifts. Your gifts will be wrapped with nice paper and love. Nice to see the support for Ukraine is unwavering.

Best book/ gift/ limited edition product in all Bulgaria … great service … amazing people taking care of the shop and if you can not find a gift or something in this shop then I am sure something is wrong with you 😊… I recommend this place for everyone who wants a quality thing to buy.

Such a unique and amazing find in Sofia. So glad I stopped by—they sold a journal discontinued in my country that I have been looking for! The desk worker Ruben was so kind and helpful.

A truly magical place for all Harry Potter fans, everything from the packaging to the products is thoughtfully designed and full of charm. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the inclusion of a bookmark with messaging that I feel isn’t appropriate for a younger audience to have a LGBTQ promotion. While I fully respect the rights and choices of adults, I believe that promotional materials aimed at children should remain neutral. Thank you for the otherwise wonderful experience and the wonderful gift with it.

We decided to visit the bookstore some reviews and we were not disappointed. A wide variety of books, comics and gifts in general. Also, Harry Potter fans are going to enjoy some of the surprises this place has to offer.

The place seems comfy and the music is ok but sometimes too loud for a ,, book store". If you look more into it, there is more just licensed stuff such as Disney Harry potee ips. Soke iteams are reqlly overpriced even for originals . There are some A.i generated gift cards for maybe 10lv, which is unreal. Also, for some reasont they are selling SCANNED retra pages from the first disney comics in bulgaria from the 40s for a minimum of 60lv each, which is unreal for item thats just scanned and put in a protector . Ok place for tourists, i guess, but nothing justifies the scummy tactics in there . Also, it feels more like antics shop/ souvenirs/ geeky stuff than a bookstore .Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than window shopping

A fantastic establishment with a wonderful owner. My partner and I had an opportunity to chat with the owner for about 10/15 minutes, after he was able to recommend my partner a book to read based on my partner wanting to try to get into reading through a classic short story. We had seen great things said about this place, via the Google search “shops to visit in Sofia” and saw that it was LGBTQ+ friendly on Google maps, so had to pay the bookstore a visit.
