The Eleven Resort Lodge is advertised as a ‘luxury’ style lodge in downtown Revelstoke. The newly renovated hotel features modern furnishings, high tech controls, a breakfast and attentive staff. ||Rooms (named after local Mountains) are amazing with modern touches, comfortable beds, luxury pillows, bedding & housecoats. The shower is spectacular as is the large bathrooms with double sinks and a bidet. Nice to have windows that open each with electric power shades (altho you can’t have your windows open and close only one shade, you have to close all or none. This is unfortunate for the Begbie room as the adjacent Credit Union prison lights come on at dark and beam into the room (we chose bright lights in order to have open windows). The TV has multi-options such as Netflix, Prime, etc but the TV stations and Apps didn’t connect for us as it needed updating but we didn’t have the TV brand remote. We also didn’t want to go to the desk at night to have it fixed so we watched a show on our iPad. ||The shared lounge is a huge area with a bar for coffee and water. Enjoy a massive TV, a warm fire, books & vinyl records. The outside patio is also large and comfortable and has a view of Mount Begbie. ||For your relaxation are 2 saunas - 1 wet & 1 dry, a hot tub with views and a cold therapy tub, a fire pit & heaters. There is also a small gym on the basement floor with Peletons, a treadmill and other equipment such as free weights. ||Breakfast included in the hotel restaurant offer a few options - some vegetarian, less so vegan. Altho the welcome card says breakfast starts at 7:00 it is actually 8:00 (there were a few frustrated travellers who wanted to eat and run). Menu includes a smoothie shooter & compressed fruit but not offered. Coffee comes from a barista machine one cup at a time - time consuming for the server. Not efficient as the grinder broke down - time to go to drip. Breakfast was hit and miss, first day okay, second morning not so much (over cooked oiled roesti potatoes, wilted lettuce as accompaniment, odd presentation of meals such as smoked salmon bagel). The sausage is very good, the bacon was different than usual but also tasty. There was nothing really gourmet about the breakfast. ||Staff are friendly, welcoming, professional and accommodating. Most young eager staff who travelled to Revelstoke to enjoy an active lifestyle. A shout out to Sheldon & Jack, they were brilliant. ||The premises are extremely clean, comfortable and inviting. ||A few things not in keeping with a luxury hotel: there is no onsite parking - you need to park on the street around the other street as there is time-limits in parking near the hotel. Although the many creams & lotions (Aesop) are high quality & fragrant, a loofah would be nice after the hot tub & steams. There is no full-length mirror in the room. The rooms have a metal water bottle for you to use and tho the drinking water from the tap is good there is no filtered water on site. Also, having a rug when you get off the elevator is irritating as suitcases with wheels just get stuck and scrunch it up. I adjusted it every time I went to the elevator. ||Big one for us, we were given access to our room & front door via a code. Unfortunately, at 6:15 on the day we were leaving I went out to my car that was parked down the street and when I came back, my code was already cut off and no back up key given. I had to walk to the back of the hotel and yell to my husband (thank goodness for that open window) to let me in the front door. By the time we got up to our room it was also cut off. So no keys, no phone, stranded. Thankfully a staff member started at 7:00am and gave us access again. ||In the summer heat, the outdoors patio and the rooms on the east facing the alley endure the smells from the rotting garbage in the many businesses’ receptacles. We had to come in from the patio because it smelt so bad. This alley is also open to the kitchen, restaurant and patio. ||Hint: when booking, make sure to take note of the pricing (on the Eleven site) we were unknowingly quoted prices in US dollars. When we booked Eleven, we thought we would treat ourselves with a nice hotel stay, only to find out that the cost was actually 30% higher than anticipated and by the time we had our confirmation which was delayed we were charged with a non-cancellable booking of $500 a night ($150 more a night than anticipated), and in our case $300 higher for the 2 nights. $757.12 became $1037.25. 😞 Outrageous, we now have to cut our trip short. ||In summary, if you enjoy an upgraded experience with a brand that provides a 7.5/10 rating in our experience then the Eleven Brand is definitely worth checking out. A bit of a surprise at the end when they had a separate invoice asking if you wanted to pay tips for your stay. Ummm no. We did however leave a nice tip for our breakfast server.
