Elite Hotel Esplanade, Malmö

Nice and clean rooms. A good location if here to discover Malmö. The rating is low because of the breakfast. On weekends it’s open until 11:00. We came down at 9:30-10:00 both days and bread was out, no orange juice. Still recommend to stay here

Centrally located hotel in central Malmo, about a 5-10 minute walk from the Malmo Central train station. A block away from lots of restaurants. Very quiet despite the location.|Very helpful and polite staff. We had a junior suite with a balcony. Lots of horizontal space to unpack things--two shelves in the bathroom, lots of shelves in the closet, a big desk. Magnified shaving mirror in the bathroom. Tons of charging outlets. Excellent buffet breakfast.

The hotel is quite worn down and in need of renovation. The bathrooms are worn and not cleaned properly, the floor is dirty, the toilet brush is full of feces, there are silverfish on the floor, damaged wall panels, and a thick layer of dust on doors and cupboards. At breakfast, we were actually asked to leave the restaurant because there was a queue, and if we were finished, we were told to vacate our table immediately so others could take it — even though we had barely finished eating. We have stayed at this hotel several times a year for almost 10 years, but this was probably the last time we will visit. There are many other hotels in Malmö in the same price range that offer a higher overall quality than Elite Hotel Esplanade.

2 nights in October 2025. Central hotel, great for seeing the city on foot but the down side is being surrounded by noisy bars with large gatherings of noisy people...right beneath the bedroom window.|Lovely big comfy room. Reception staff varied in manner. Some very helpful, some not. Teabags were rationed!

This is a wonderful hotel in the heart of Malmo, only a 7 minute walk from the train station. There are many different restaurants, shops, plazas, and attractions a few steps from the front door. The hotel is modern, cozy and clean. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, especially the restaurant staff. The breakfast was delicious and had a nice variety of food options. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel is well located for sure. Arrived at 9:30pm with a tired 6 year old. Walked into the room to find they had made up the room with a crib not a bed for her. (Only hotel in Sweden that had this issue). ||There are no phones in the room so had to go to the lobby. The desk clerk was alone so best he could do was to give me a spare bed and have me wheel it to the room and make it up. To no fault of his own, he wasn’t allowed to leave the front desk unmanned and the hotel has cheaped out by not having anyone else staffed so they can help guests even at a reasonable hour in a large city hotel. ||No body wash in the shower. It was empty and not refilled. Coffee maker in the room but no coffee as the mini bar hadn’t been restocked. ||Breakfast ends early. 9:30. Most hotels in Sweden are 10. And the breakfast room is nearly pitch black with moody dim lights. They have outdoor seating that would help brighten the space but they kept the windows closed and those outside tables unavailable for the breakfast. It was a gorgeous day and we sat in the dark. Quality of the buffet was less nice than other places. (No real butter - just margarine etc etc). ||Total miss. Would never stay at an elite again.

Stayed for 2 nights late July as a family with 2 small children. + excellent location - stone's throw away from Lilla Torg and short walk to train station and castle + breakfast - high quality compared to usual standards (no coffee machine in the restaurant though, but pod machines in the rooms) + spacious and comfortable rooms with excellent AC. Ample space for families and luggage + kids made to feel special with goody bags and other nice touches - very few - possibly the fact that later breakfast sittings may have to wait for a table to become free during peak season, but this seemed to be short This was our first stay in an Elite hotel, and overall, I'd recommend this hotel to all, but particularly families with young children.

I spent 8 nights at the Elite Hotel Esplanade with my family at the end of June 2025. We had two rooms and both were faultless both upon arrival and throughout our stay. Situated an easy 5 minute walk from the main train station, the hotel was perfectly located to act as our base whilst we toured Malmö. Everything was very clean throughout the hotel and housekeeping were always around in the morning to check if we needed anything and did everything with a smile. If we had a problem, or were unsure of something, staff at the front desk were more than happy to help. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and could hold a conversation with perfect English. Breakfast was provided by the restaurant Quan and the entire staff would deliver an amazing breakfast buffet every morning. There was always a supply of every delicious thing available and staff would regularly check that we were alright and whether we would like them to clear away our finished dishes. We would regularly be the last to finish our food, but there was no pressure from the staff to leave, they would simply check whether we desired any more food and then go about packing up whatever we did not want without disturbance. A special mention must go to Mamata, who took us under her wing and strove to ensure that our breakfast experience started the day perfectly. We would look forward to seeing her every morning and her polite and helpful service, as well as her smile, elevated our amazing experience even further. We intend to visit Malmö again in the future and fully intend to book rooms at the Elite Hotel Esplanade once more.
