Elite Hotel Esplanade, Malmö

This is a wonderful hotel in the heart of Malmo, only a 7 minute walk from the train station. There are many different restaurants, shops, plazas, and attractions a few steps from the front door. The hotel is modern, cozy and clean. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, especially the restaurant staff. The breakfast was delicious and had a nice variety of food options. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Hotel is well located for sure. Arrived at 9:30pm with a tired 6 year old. Walked into the room to find they had made up the room with a crib not a bed for her. (Only hotel in Sweden that had this issue). ||There are no phones in the room so had to go to the lobby. The desk clerk was alone so best he could do was to give me a spare bed and have me wheel it to the room and make it up. To no fault of his own, he wasn’t allowed to leave the front desk unmanned and the hotel has cheaped out by not having anyone else staffed so they can help guests even at a reasonable hour in a large city hotel. ||No body wash in the shower. It was empty and not refilled. Coffee maker in the room but no coffee as the mini bar hadn’t been restocked. ||Breakfast ends early. 9:30. Most hotels in Sweden are 10. And the breakfast room is nearly pitch black with moody dim lights. They have outdoor seating that would help brighten the space but they kept the windows closed and those outside tables unavailable for the breakfast. It was a gorgeous day and we sat in the dark. Quality of the buffet was less nice than other places. (No real butter - just margarine etc etc). ||Total miss. Would never stay at an elite again.

Stayed for 2 nights late July as a family with 2 small children. + excellent location - stone's throw away from Lilla Torg and short walk to train station and castle + breakfast - high quality compared to usual standards (no coffee machine in the restaurant though, but pod machines in the rooms) + spacious and comfortable rooms with excellent AC. Ample space for families and luggage + kids made to feel special with goody bags and other nice touches - very few - possibly the fact that later breakfast sittings may have to wait for a table to become free during peak season, but this seemed to be short This was our first stay in an Elite hotel, and overall, I'd recommend this hotel to all, but particularly families with young children.

Excellent location, in the heart of old town. Malmö central station is 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel, really easy to reach, and excellent base for travel around Sweden or Copenhagen. Nights were silent, we had an exceptionally relaxing weekend here. Checkin-checkout is super fast, staff is really friendly. Highly recommended!

The hotel is very centrally located. The breakfast selection leaves nothing to be desired, except that the breakfast room is very dark. We had a spacious and quiet room on the 3rd floor. Unfortunately, the ventilation in the bathroom was defective.

This is my favorite hotel in a long time. I love it! The beds are excellent and they give you a choice of the type of pillow, such as extra flat or tempurpedic or down or down-free. The location is excellent next to one of the main squares. The room was extremely quiet. I had a standard double room and it was quite comfortable on space which is not always the case for European hotels. The price was very affordable, under $100USD. They have a good gym. The staff was very helpful, responsive and friendly. I appreciate that Elite Hotels of Sweden are Green Key certified, making them a sustainable choice, which I care about. And very importantly, they have elevators and they have an excellent AC system, not always the case in Europe. And best of all: a massive breakfast spread was included, 4x bigger than a typical good breakfast, with everything you might possibly want and many options for each type of thing. Eggs, bacon, frikadeller; 6 types of bread and pastry; 4 types of jam; 6 types of yogurt, multiple types of cereal, muesli, granola, seeds, fruit toppings, berries. 6 types of cold cuts plus cheeses, and a variety of pickled herring and smoked salmon; 4 types of juice and a smoothie. All I can say is Yum, and I’ll be back next time I’m in town!

The hotel is located in very central place, it is very convenient, also it is very close to the train station. There are restaurants, bars, cafes and shops around the hotel. The hotel itself looks little bit old and outdated but it doesn’t spoil general impression. The room was very spacious (deluxe room), clean and nice. The was pretty comfortable, especially pillows was very very comfortable. Breakfast was good enough, with everything needed for breakfast.

Best things first: amazing location, great staff, very good and varied breakfast. Things to improve: our room was the standard room. The shower system was such that every time we showered the floor would get wet. The pillow menu was hidden in the closet. The day we arrived there was no body wash in the shower and I had to let the reception know the following day, as housekeeping did not notice the second day either. The curtains were very difficult to open. Overall it was a very good experience, the hotel looks modern and it looks like they are putting a lot of effort into making it as modern as possible.

Delicious breakfast, great location (close to restaurants, bars, & shoping) clean rooms, comfortable beds/pillows, and friendly staff.
