Elite Hotel Ideon, Lund

NOT RECOMMENDED Unfortunately, we were expecting a room to be worth its price (2K SEK) with a pleasant view, but instead we received a room facing office spaces, where people were working and looking at us just 6–7 meters from our window. When we asked to change rooms, the reception offered us another room with a view of the parking lot. We asked to speak with the hotel manager. At first, the receptionist said manager was busy in a meeting, but after I sent a picture of the view from our room to him, he called the hotel and said he was at home, on sick leave. The hotel’s supervisor was also absent/at home and she refused to speak with the guest over the phone! Is it part of Elite Hotels' procedure that there is no need for a manager to be present during daytime at the hotel which has 178 rooms? And when the absent hotel manager and supervisor found out about this unfortunate incident, they were so arrogant that they didn't even bother to talk to guests. When the hotel’s management refused to speak with the guest and resolve the issue, it became clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority for the hotel. Our rating for this hotel is 2/5. We do not recommend Elite Hotel Ideon to anyone. Besides we demand compensation for this depressing accommodation experience. Photos we took of the hotel: 1. View from our room window, 2. I usually enjoy staying at Elite Hotels, but this one ranks more in the middle compared to others. The location is rather remote, but the interior is tasteful, with nice rooms and comfortable beds. Unfortunately, the experience at the reception was disappointing: when we asked if it was possible to check in a bit earlier because we had a sick child, the staff member was not very helpful.

Although at the outskirts of Lund, access is easy by bus and super convenient by bike (can be borrowed from reception for free). Excellent breakfast, clean and relaxing environment. Do not get discouraged by the distance to the centre

Avoid this hotel if you travel by car. 2hours after check-in at the hotel, our car looked like this. Most disturbing is the fact, that the receptionist will kindly inform you about the hotel parking fees, but wouldn’t mention a single word, that they have a serious safety issue in the hotel’s garage. Check the other reviews here, this is not a one-time event but happens regularly since years. And the hotel management is doing nothing since years, to provide safe parking to their customers. To post the review we had to click a star, but it doesn't deserve one.

Great location for visiting my company location. Great lobby, with games, bar and sitting areas. Was surprised by size if room. Was expecting small and wasn't. If it matters, pay attention when booking, as some rooms have no windows. Bus to Lund center was right outside hotel and tram was a short walk.

It’s a nice business hotel on the outskirts of Lund, with (almost) all amenities and a good breakfast buffet. Free bikes to use, very appreciated. However, it turned out that I was booked into a room with no window which was really unpleasant, like living in a cell, not knowing if it’s day or night when waking up. I don’t think it’s ok to charge almost 1700 SEK/night for a windowless room. Tried to change but to no avail.

Very nice place with very good breakfast. I particularly loved how they made the omlet. Some of the rooms doesnot have windows but the lights on one side of the entire wall creates window like structure. The service is very good but i didnot like the burgers i had for dinner.

I like the most is the location of the hotel but for a foreign citizens coming from a warm climate will need a heater in room . I was shocked that a 4 star hotel was not having heater in room and the AC was set to 24 degree C and no option to make it more warm. They have good breakfast but it feels too crowdy at times

I came to Lund for business and stay at the Elite because it's vicinity to my office. I must say the bartender Haris is so Welcoming and friendly and accommodating! He makes such tasty drinks and made my stay the absolute best. I tend to get homesick at times but he literally felt like family. 5 stars for the service I received! Can't wait to Visit again.

Really liked this Hotel!! It's a bit far from the city centre of Lund, but honestly the transit is easy to get around (including getting to Copenhagen). If you buy the passes through the Skånetrafiken app, you can see the wide array of regions you'll have access to (including trains, trams, buses etc). The hotel itself is in a more quiet area, surrounded by tech/science/start ups. I believe there are some offices connected to the hotel. The hotel is also close to Lund University. The hotel has a lot of amenities including a gym, restaurant etc. The lobby is very nice and cozy as well with ample seatings. Rooms are quite spacious - you have to pay extra for a window though oddly enough. The rooms have everything you need - my favourite feature was heated flooring in the washroom - how cool is that? Pillows are also super comfortable. My only issue is the distance from the city centre which is why it loses a star from me. If I'm ever in Lund again, I would stay here!

I spent a week here while attending meetings at the nearby Medicon Village. It is close to several bus stops and easy to see as it towers above the nearby Ideon buildings. The hotel is clean and well-appointed, feeling modern and fresh. Comfortable beds, fast wifi, nice toiletries, and even a heated bathroom floor! Elevators are fast. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, armed with local maps and plenty of information about the nearby area. The breakfast is good - eggs several ways, breakfast meats, continental meat and cheese, cereal and pastry, and fresh fruit. Bikes are available to borrow for the day, but they are first-come-first-served, so they are often fully booked by 7am and may not be available, even when there are several parked in the entrance.

We partook in a lunch at the hotel which was adjacent to the industrial park we were visiting. The hotel has a modern Scandinavian feel to it, and the ground floor restaurant is an extention of that milieu. Our party of six required some time to drag together two smaller round tables, with some consternation of staff, but was accomplished after some existential angst. Service was quick albeit curt, and the group had salads, beef, the daily special (chicken); there was a small salad bar also included in the meal. Quality of the food was reasonable, albeit not particularly notable; at least there was an availability of Coke light with ice, for the Americans amongst us. It was definitely convenient particularly given the mildly inclement weather, but as a destination for the exceptional it was good but not great. There are other lunch spots in Lund if less pressed for time and convenience.
