perfect location. 5 minutes walk to stora torget where you can find all the busses to various locations (i.e. karlstad university, 10 minutes by bus no 1). comfortable room. don’t forget to bring your own slippers. perfect breakfast. very friendly and helpful staff. and the oscar goes to: the restaurant of the hotel. bishop’s arms. eat fish&chips there.

One night we had a big double room with a huge bathroom, excellent! The other two double rooms we had were small with *very* small bathrooms. We had a dog in the smallest room and that was not ideal. Street noise can be heard from the rooms facing the street, but there is not much traffic anyway. Very dog friendly, excellent breakfast buffet, and staff was fantastic. The hotel has a parking garage where you can charge your ev. All in all we were very happy with our stay. Highly recommend.

Amazing hotel. One of our favourite hotels to stay at. We always make a point of staying there whenever we’re in Karlstad. Rooms are very comfy, food is great, staff is very helpful, but the cherry in top is the rooftop heated pool. Overall a great experience, going there again next month!

Had a short stop over on our way to Funasdalen (XC-skiing)|The hotel is old but very cosy.|The restaurent, Bishop arms, serves good food in a British Pub atmosphere.|And as all this wasn't enough there is a warm roof top pool with a view to the frozen river.|We'll be back next year, ad we have been many times before.

Nice Hotel, Spa quite pricey and limited. Rooftop is resting pool not swimming pool. Nice view from rooftop bar. Parking in cellar

Stayed at this hotel in August with my husband who was working for the several days we were there. The hotel was booked by his employer on the suggestion of the company he was working with in Karlstad and it was an excellent recommendation. ||The room was clean and comfortable, quiet and the location was excellent for walking to the downtown area. Best of all was the breakfast! Delicious every morning (I’m partial to a good European breakfast as my mother is German). This hotel had the best breakfast of the 3 hotels we stayed at on our trip to Sweden.

A little disappointing considering the price. Original room was shaking with the bass of a near music event close to midnight. Moved to another room with the same issue. Told there are no other rooms. Absolutely appalling to charge this rate and not warn guests that there is no sound insulation from nearby music venues which play well into the early hours of the morning. Do not stay here on a Friday or Saturday night if you want to sleep. Edit: we have received a partial refund, which is very much appreciated. I have adjusted my review based on this.

Hotel with a lot more character than many equivalent 4 star hotels. Small pool on the roof kept at 38 degrees - for sitting and looking out over the town. Decent Swedish breakfast - I had one of the small double rooms which was reasonably priced and comfortable.
