From start to finish our experience was lovely! I made a personal request to have some cute towels made into dogs and they exceeded expectations and made 3!! They even left a ball for us which was greatly appreciated. Service was top tier. They make cookies and soup daily so be sure to check that out. The beds were super comfortable, not too soft with the right amount of firmness for my back. Our shower was a bit clogged and they sent someone up immediately to remedy the issue. Spectacular views of the ocean with a private balcony. Their amenities are quite nice as well with the indoor pool and outdoor hangout spot with fire pits. 10/10 recommend and would definitely come back here for my next stay. Thank you Elizabeth hotel team for making our stay so wonderful! Special shout out to their front desk manager. I am blanking on his name right now but he ensured our stay was perfect.

Very clean rooms. After requesting our room to be cleaned during our stay, housekeeping was very quick at coming to our room and cleaned thoroughly. Very friendly staff! Great selection for breakfast. Delicious salmon chowder in the evening (and I do not even like salmon)! Beautiful view from our room!

A very good room and balcony overlooking the Ocean. Clean ,quiet and very relaxing. Staff makes you feel right at home. Covered parking. Was concerned when i first arrived on how you actually got down to the beach but there is a pretty little park just off the hotel. that worked perfectly.

Very nice hotel. A bit spendy but thats to be expected on a nice beach front property with an amazing view. Beach hotels often leave a lot to be desired but this was a really nice hotel. Clean and well kept. The windows were rather dirty but also its beach front. Hard to keep them clean all the time with that salty air/water so it did not detract from the experience.

The room was comfortable. We enjoyed the room, but it had some rough edges. Things like the carpet was frayed at transition, the shower curtain was torn, the water valve on shower had no stops for on/off. The fan, lamps and behind nightstand needed dusting. The matress was very comfortable, but the bed linen was threadbare. We appreciated that the staff was attentive, helpful and provided exceptional service.

Our stay was very special due to the beautiful hotel and exceptionally skilled and thoughtful staff. l let them know ahead of time that it was my mother's 88th birthday. They not only made sure she had a wonderful room with exceptional views but also left for her a birthday card with a sweet handwritten note and some delicious fudge. The thoughtful gesture brought tears to my mother's eyes. Both of our rooms were spacious and clean, and the views were incredible. We have vowed to make a stay at Elizabeth Oceanfront an annual birthday treat. Thank you, everyone, for a memorable experience.

All rooms enjoy ocean views. My room was large, clean and nicely decorated. Everything looked like new. Staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. Parking is on two lower levels easily accessible by elevators

Google
Wonderful location. All ocean view rooms with balcony and fireplace. Grab and go breakfast. Chowder at 5pm and cookies at 7pm. The fire pit area is great. It’s got beach chairs, sand, and wind breaks to keep you out of the wind. Great stay!

Yelp
Idk what to say. We actually really liked this place. It was clean, well kept, smelled good, & the staff at the front desk. My oh my. (Keep Caleb, they're a gem!) They made the stay so much more inviting. It was just a pleasant experience, the pool was nice. The view was amazing. Close to everything. I love the parking! Overall, 9.9/10 for us! It was so good, I forgot to take pics. Only a minor issue that can be fixed if felt needed : ) Only thing I would say was that there is no corner protecting on the bed. So my husband and I do have bruises on our legs & my 1 year old got a boo-boo under her eye. The beds slide on the frame so can't see that corner lol.

Yelp
Got a chance to stay here for a work trip and I have to say it was very nice. Front Desk employee was great. Extremely friendly and everything that you'd expect from someone welcoming you to the hotel. They give you an info card with all the hotel amenities on it and location. Do not miss the free cookies at 7pm. The room. WOW, what a room. I had a two king room and there was plenty of space with a balcony that looked out to the ocean. Bath robes where nice and fluffy and not thin and stiff like all hotel bath robes. 2 bottles of free water and a bag of salt water taffy. I have zero complaints about the room. Breakfast was about what you'd expect it to be. Cereal, Jimmy Deans breakfast sandwiches, bagels, etc. it's not a continental breakfast but it's good enough. I'd definitely stay here again....I'd go out of my way to stay here again it was that nice. We did walk doing to Georgie's for dinner since it's one of the closer places to eat in the area. I can't remember if I saw a vending machine for soda but it seems like there's no convenience store close by so I'd recommend picking stuff up before arriving.

Yelp
Elizabeth Oceanfront is a nice hotel. Comfortable bed nice staff, they make some good chowder that is complimentary as well as some breakfast. My back window slider didn't work but I was up on the second floor so didn't mind too much. Overall good place to stay in this area and the view is great! Had a small billing issue but they resolved it.

Yelp
Lovely hotel in a great location if you're exploring the Oregon coast. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, they have delicious salmon chowder available every night at 5pm, my room was so comfortable and spotless, and the views are just fantastic! This hotel is part of Choice Hotel brand's Ascend collection and is right on the beach in Newport. Their Ascend line is a little more upscale and always has great locations. We use Choice Hotels a lot and always have lots of points - Prices here are expensive but if you're using Choice Points it's an excellent redemption rate! I was impressed and surprised. I think most of their rooms face the ocean. I had a king suite and the room was huge with amazing views right out over the pacific with the infamous Yaquina Head Lighthouse off to the right - this is the lighthouse from the movie The Ring!! My room had a huge, very comfy king bed with perfectly squishy pillows. It also had a fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffeemaker with REAL coffee mugs!! I was so happy lol. There's also a gas fireplace operated by wall switches but I didn't use it bc it was too hot lol. The bathroom is split - the toilet and shower are behind a door and the sink is outside the bathroom. There's tons of counter space and their shampoo and soaps smelled amazing - very citrusy. They have nice rainfall type shower heads with two settings and it warms up fast but their water pressure is terrible. The hotel provides salmon chowder every night at 5pm and it is absolutely DELICIOUS! It was so good that I pretty much made my dinner out of it for almost every night of my stay lol! They also serve fresh baked cookies at 7pm and have 2 varieties of rotating flavors such as lemon, sugar, oatmeal raisin and of course chocolate chip. I tried the sugar and oatmeal and they were lovely. They serve breakfast daily which they give you on a tray to take to your room. They offer microwaved sandwiches and various other cold pre-packaged items so the breakfast is definitely lacking. I only ate it once during my 4-night stay. So that's part of my reason for only giving 4 stars. The other reason for my 4 stars is the noise level at their fire pits. They have some nice fire pits on the beach next to the indoor pool area. A group of hotel guests threw a HUGE party at the fire pits on my last night and they were insanely loud. They had a personal radio blaring loud, obscene music and they were all screaming and yelling for HOURS - it started around 630-7pm. I was all the way up on the 3rd floor and could hear them no matter how loud I put my tv - I could even hear them over my white noise app AND the AC when trying to sleep. I did call the front desk just to ask what their policy on noise is bc I had an early day coming up and in all fairness they seemed to stop the noise around 10pm but no sooner. Definitely affected my night. So if you're averse to loud noises and partying, I'd suggest requesting a room as far away from the fire pit area as possible lol. They have two levels of covered parking - one by the lobby and the other one floor down and it seems to be ample. There's also street parking. They have plenty of suitcase trollies and generously gave me a late checkout for being a member. The staff and location and chowder can't be beat! I'd definitely stay here again (away from the fire pits LOL)!

Yelp
The staff. 100%. I was witness to 2 of the evening shift crew having to deal with an irate family ( they had booked their room from an outside business like Expedia or hotels.com , And I do not know which one) and their room Was not available. They had driven 4 hours to get there. The 2 gentlemen dealing with them were so professional, empathetic, courteous , helpful and polite , offering up solutions that were in their capabilities. , I was in awe of their customer service skills. Really stellar. I stayed there for work, and am so grateful my employer has contracted with them , or I would never had known how wonderful they are. 5 stars from me, based solely on the quality of their staff.

Yelp
This is my favorite beach hotel. For the price, you get: - Super comfy beds and pillows (we were upgraded to a double king room v our booked queen - for no extra charge). - Fireplace for coziness. - Clean rooms. - Spacious balcony with furniture to chill. - Space to spread out, eat, store items & food. - As many cold water bottles as you need. - Fresh baked cookies every single day. - Nightly chowder at 7pm. - Covered parking. - The best views! - An indoor pool and spa, adjacent to a sandpit area with various seating options and gas fire to sit next to. Did I mention they're literally on the beach, so you get to watch the tide roll in, the sunset or sunrise? Easy walk to the beach, friendly service, and more. They've done away with hot breakfast during COVID, and it's not back, but they have a decent and generous grab & go breakfast.

Yelp
My first impression of this place was kind of rocky. Due to traffic and the weather, I arrived several hours after I had planned. When I finally got to the hotel, I parked in the parking garage behind the front desk and then checked in. I loved my room. It was spacious, on the top (fourth) floor, had a fireplace and an ocean view, but I was REALLY disappointed in the bed. I'm only 4'10 1/2" but the top of the mattress came to my waist. It was impossible to climb onto the bed. I was aggravated from the long drive, and I went downstairs and asked for another room. The girl said they didn't have any, but offered to have someone send a stepladder. Had she not offered that, I would have ended up sleeping on the couch. Previously I had tried to climb onto the bed using a chair and then the ottoman, but I didn't want to break any bones. Fortunately the maintenance guy brought me a step stool which was just the right height, so I could climb into bed. It was a really comfy bed with lots of pillows. Big TV with lots of stations. The bathroom really needed updating but it was okay. It was strangely laid out. The sink was in the room and the toilet and shower were in the actual bathroom. There was a microwave under the television, but I guess they didn't have a lot of space to put things. The next morning I went searching for their breakfast room which the sign stated was on the third floor. However, the breakfast area is in the lobby and I hate to say it since it was a free breakfast but it left a lot to be desired. Mostly sweet things, like muffins and cake, but they had packages of bagels and packets of cream cheese but no toaster! I wasn't feeling well my second morning so I opted not to get up at 7am to take advantage of the breakfast. However, I did take advantage of their salmon chowder. OMG, SO, SO good! I'd never had salmon chowder before and I devoured two small bowls, which for me is pretty unheard of. It was amazing and I would come back just for that. The staff is really nice and helpful and seem like they enjoy working there and enjoy talking to the guests. One employee asked some guests in the lobby if the TV was loud enough for them to enjoy the movie that was playing and turned it up for them. The pool was really nice and I loved the hot tub. It's really nice that it's open till 10pm. There's also a fire pit/patio but it was way too cold to go out there. It seems like a place that would get really loud in the warmer months so I would request a room as far away as possible. As nice as this place is, the signs need a SERIOUS upgrade. The pool is below the lobby, but when the doors open, they open to the parking garage. Nowhere are there signs pointing toward the pool. I was told to go across the parking garage to the left and there is a glass door. The pool is through those doors on the right. But no signs for it at all. Really?? It was frustrating not to be able to find things, but given that this place is so close to everything (right on the beach, a mile from the Oregon Coast Aquarium, every room has an ocean view), I would stay here again. I plan on returning to Newport as soon as I can and this place will be on my list. It was relaxing and it was nice to try a new place to stay.

Yelp
The views can not be beat! the perfect ocean views from any balcony. The Hotel is on a street that parallels the ocean beaches. There is a restaurant in walking distance. The room has a fireplace and a small living room set up near the balcony slider doors. there is a micro-fridge in the room as well. The breakfast is pretty week. they are only doing a small handout at the lobby, not cooked at all. they did this for covid, but I have seen many hotels return to regular service by now. The parking is pretty tight. the spots are small and narrow drive aisles, small cars are better here.

Yelp
This was my favorite room while traveling down the coast! Roomy, comfortable, quiet and fantastic view. The fireplace pilot light blew out as soon as I turned it on because the winds from the big cyclonic storm were still blowing extremely hard. Disappointing but not that big of a deal. It was a problem throughout the hotel. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Only complaint was the grab & go breakfast. Set up behind the front desk (don't you dare touch anything), you tell the employee what items you wanted & she put it in a bag and handed it to you. However, everyone could help themselves to coffee??? More nonsense in a crazy world. An employee told me they're turning what used to be the breakfast room on the third floor into a conference room. Despite that, I really loved my stay here and would definitely stay again. Just eat breakfast elsewhere!

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place! This has got to be the nicest place I've ever stayed at on the Oregon coast. (I've probably stayed at about a dozen places up and down the coastline). What makes this place stand apart is the gorgeous rooms, fireplaces, friendly staff, and secluded view of the ocean. I wasn't able to use the pool or private beach patio, but hopefully I'll come stay again to use it. They also provided a breakfast that you bring up to your room. The only disadvantages were not having a breakfast room, and the beds were positioned very high up. This became a challenge for my mother who has some knee and back trouble. She had hard time jumping up into the bed. If we stay again, we will have to have a handicap room because she did have challenges accessing the bed. Otherwise, I really enjoyed our stay. We had lunch at Georgie's after we checked out which is right down the street at the Hallmark Resort.

Yelp
We looked up and down the Oregon coast and specifically at each location for lodging for me, my hubby and my son and his family. We ended up with two rooms at the Elizabeth. We really loved our stay! The rooms were spacious and each had a great view. Beds were comfy. A great beach was just a quick walk away. We enjoyed the outdoor area each night and the staff was most helpful. Out second night, we bought s'mores supplies which was a lot of fun. Tip for the hotel - maybe have packaged s'mores kits! The hotel offers chowder and cookies daily. However, the one thing that kept it from being 5 star for me was the breakfast. It's grab and go which consisted of many high carb options. I have read this is a holdover from Covid and would love it if more low carb options were available. We would definitely stay there again!

Yelp
We did not get a chance to stay in the hotel so I have no idea what the rooms, pool and breakfast are like. Our front desk experience was terrible however. We booked our room via booking.com. We are a family of 5. We have found that most booking sites default to all having a room occupancy of 4, even when some hotel websites specifically have an occupancy of 6. Rooms with an occupancy of 6 usually have 2 queens and a sofa bed and are slightly larger in size. The descriptions of this hotel fit the bill for rooms fitting up to 6. We booked a room with 2 queen sized beds and 1 sofa bed according to our booking site. On arrival, the front desk said "Your booking is only for two adults. Are you traveling with any kids or pets." I answered truthfully that we had 3 kids. They told me that we had to book a second room or find another place to stay. The rooms would have been on separate floors, no where near each other and the 2nd room would have cost an additional $1500, which was more than the first room to begin with. We simply could not afford a $2800 hotel bill for 3 nights! Later when the manager came out, she said that the booking showed 2 adults and 2 kids, not 3 which was different from what the first desk clerk stated. They were very rude and unapologetic and made me feel like a criminal. We were stuck 8 hours from home, trying to find a room for 3 nights July 3-5th!!! I left to explain to my family and we were all very upset. I didn't know if we would find a place. Most hotels in the area were completely booked. My husband went in to speak to them. The manager finally offered to help us find a place, but everywhere was even more expensive. They stated that our room was 2 queens and a sofa not a sofa bed. They said we could have 5 in the room if they had a rollaway but they were all out, which was confusing. My husband said that my daughter sleeps on our cot sometimes in hotels and they said it was a fire hazard for us to use it?!? While my husband was there, another clerk was helping a gentlemen who also had issues with his booking. I don't understand why their story kept changing. In the end, we found a place that was willing to welcome the 5 of us, for a reasonable price too. Our experience with this hotel was terrible though.

Yelp
The staff is excellent! Rooms are nice and view is spectacular! The fire pits and sand area is relaxing. Our sliding door to our balcony was hard to open, but that is my only complaint, and the ocean air is probably the reason why.

Yelp
We liked this hotel. Stayed here a night after we checked out of a bad hotel. Rooms were great, super friendly staff, they made delicious complementary cookies and on the coast. Beds were hard to get into for a shorter person and no where for dog to go potty but overall great place to stay!

Yelp
We found this place by accident, since they had a cancellation and we snagged it. Non smoking rooms. With balcony views of the beach, a couch for watching tv ( which my back really enjoyed. Watching tv from bed all the time sucks.) A gas fireplace that kept the room super (almost sauna warm), but there's a handy ceiling fan and , yup, you guessed it.... a balcony door opening up to ocean breezes! The bathroom was clean and once the hot water got there, the shower was constantly warm enough, with plenty of pressure. Quiet, too, except for the toddler running back and forth upstairs. The hotel is within walking distance of two fabulous restaurants. Spoiler alert, they're both owned by Georgie's Grill. Delicious food, better service. My only complaint was the desk staff. Had the room not been so great, we would have marked the place down to one stars. Yes, check in was that horrible. We walked into the lobby, roughly 3pm Saturday on President,'s Day weekend. There were three people behind the desk. Maybe they'd had a rough valentine's day. I don't know. None of them even made eye contact or seemed to notice us standing at the counter for close to five minutes. Two were having a very loud conversation, in the lobby of a hotel, which just echoed and made them seem louder. The other one behind the desk just tapped on her computer. Finally, who I suppose might be the senior staffer, Noticed us and said, "She's going to be faster checking you in," pointing to the computer staffer. Without a word or looking up, the one on the computer said, "name the reservations under...." The other two kept up their loud talking about I dont know what. Computer staffer: "I'll need photo I'd and the card to charge your room." My husband is half deaf, and couldnt hear her over the loud talkers. I asked her to repeat herself cause I wasnt paying attention. She almost sighed in disbelief and repeated very slowly, what she had just said. Needless to say, I wasn't too happy and was very close to throttling this rude woman. We went to get our stuff from the truck and had to come back into the lobby to get to the elevator. The computer lady was telling the other two "I have to get out of here. I cant do this anymore." In front of us. As we were forced to listen to her complain. Wow. So first impressions, zero stars. I've never been treated so badly, by people who were so rude and oblivious to badic hospitality in my life. Luckily that was the only time I had to deal with the front desk. The hotel gratefully provides elevators that bypass those horrible people entirely....as if the builders knew it was going to be necessary.

Yelp
Horrible run down dirty rooms. Shower curtain rod falling off wall, dusty walls , boogers on bathroom door, toilet paper on toilet from last overflow , bathtub with black mold and I could go on. I brought it to the attention of the staff but no one came to fix the issues.Since this review the manager took money off the bill and corporate offered me points. On a positive note the man who cleans the hall ways and stairs did an excellent job and the breakfast lady was very nice.

Yelp
View and fireplace are great. Room overall very nice. Hotel needs a maintenance crew. Lobby doors from upper parking level (level with the lobby entrance)don't work. No signs in lower level parking to the elevator. Ceiling fan doesn't work. Room temperature control doesn't work.

Yelp
My husband, son and I stayed here last weekend. Overall, very nice place to stay. Staff was great from check in to check out. Rooms all face the ocean, nice fireplace inside our room, fridge, microwave and even some refreshments waiting for us, that was a nice surprise. Hotel offered coffee bar (in lobby), chowder, cookies and breakfast (grab n go style) also a nice surprise and appreciated. Only thing I could complain about if I'm being picky is the lack of plug ins within our room (only 1 available, so charging 2 phones and a tablet was not ideal) and parking was limited and tight - I have a medium sized SUV so it was a bit cramped. Very pleased with this hotel and would not hesitate to come back.

Yelp
Poor front desk service. Rude clerk! Interrogated before we could check in! Room was expensive and in poor repair. Toilet leaked, bathroom floor was always wet because tub wasn't caulked. Paneling fell off the wall! Very expensive! Heat could not be turned off and room was over 80° all the time. Price increased nightly from $227 up to $390. Breakfast was cold and pre packaged. Indoor pool and hot tub were dirty. Stayed in a 4th floor room. No beachfront rooms exist! Stay anywhere else!

Yelp
This is my 3rd time staying at this hotel. For the price of the room this is a pretty nice place to stay. The rooms have gas fireplaces in them and you can get incredible views of the beach. For the breakfast it's fairly simple which is understandable being covid and all. There was a choice of yogurt, bagels with cream cheese, some various muffins and some cereal bars.

Yelp
rude staff ,manager ,maintenance staff stalked and harassed us the hotel was nice and rooms nice but the manager and maintenance man attacked me and my veteran disabled partner embarrassed and humilated us both about our certified service dogs our doctors certified allowed to be with us at all times the manager was rude discriminating us va veterans with service dogs we certified by doctors we were also stalked and watched by. that creepy maintenance man worker tried to call hotel owner, and choice hotels to complain and demand our money back we are being ignored by the hotel manager and staff to make it right worse hotel experience ever

Yelp
Well let's start with the parking, you can not park a full size pickup in the hotel parking so you are Forced to park on the street,no direct beach access so you have to walk down the road the get to the beach and none of this is mentioned in the hotel ad or website, had the room next door looking around the balcony wall to our room, had a tweeker with a machete below the motel beating on a log a 5 am in the morning screaming some kinda of native language, waking everyone up which security did not address, the breakfast is something you expect a Motel 6. We was booked for two nights but left the very next morning which they DID NOT refund all of my money that was taken out of my account....I highly recommend staying away from this place !

Yelp
There is absolutely no possible way I'll allow myself, my family, friends or even enemies stay here. This hotel is sadly mismanaged by some of the worst people I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. My room was filthy upon arrival. Dirty bandaids, grime and crumbs. When we got back from our day out the room door was PROPPED OPEN. We had all of our belongings in there for anyone to steal! The next day, my bed wasnt made because I had my pillow on the bed!! Apparently the housekeepers are too scared of other peoples pillows to just kindly move them aside as they make the bed... I complained to the desk and they assured me it would be handled. The next day, NO SERVICE AT ALL. NONE. I was livid. I was offered a small discount which I did think was very generous and kind. But what ended up happening is they CHARGED me an ADDITIONAL 15% instead of discounting.. I was tormented to no end by the front desk staff who hung up on me every single time I tried to get my money back. I left voicemails for the manager who was so incredibly unprofessional I was astounded. Never did get her to call me back but after a full week of all this BS they finally refunded my money. Save yourself a HUGE NIGHTMARE and stay at the Hallmark down the block. They have room service and their staff is actually kind and professional. I ABSOLUTELY hate the Elizabeth, and it is all to do with their incompetent staff. Disgusting.

Yelp
They changed their breakfast to a horrific hand out of a sausage sandwich brick, and maybe if you ask you can have one drink. They give you a tray and have no breakfast area anymore and hand out pre-wrapped breakfast reheated bricks. Terrible for the cost of the room. Even cheaper 2-star motels have better. "Here's your reheated premade sausage brick and your small milk, no take it to your room." Room trash cans are the size of ice buckets now, with no trash cans anywhere that you can use. It's going downhill since Covid.

Yelp
Just returned from our first stay here, we spent the first week of school winter break. First, the ocean VIEW is magnificent! I would've been happy to park myself in the front window, next to the fireplace(!) and just watch the ocean. Our room was a comfortable size for three. It was newly remodeled, tastefully decorated, in excellent condition. The beds are comfortable and the linen is high quality. The refrigerator and microwave were just enough to make snacks. I had two younger teenagers with me. They could go down to the beach and still be visible outside the window, go for a swim in the pool, hang out by the outdoor gas fire pit. They were safe, but also enjoyed a lot of freedom on site. And then there are the warm cookies in the evening and the breakfast. You get the idea, they go out of their way to anticipate how to make their customers feel welcome. The staff are the true gems. any question you have, any concern you have, any need you have, they will go above and beyond to make sure your stay is satisfactory in every way. We planned to stay one more day, but the ice storm of the decade was predicted to hit later the next day. Looking at the weather report, we either had to stay three extra days or cut our stay short by 24-hours, to get home safely. We would've been glad to stay the extra days, except we would've missed Christmas. We were so grateful the manager allowed us to leave early without charging for the early departure. such generosity on top of our excellent experience, they made customers for life.

Yelp
While camping in a tent this past weekend, a tree fell and hit my car. Feeling unsafe, we decided to leave and get a hotel. At 2AM, on a very stormy night. The first hotel (Comfort Inn) wouldn't open their door. So we called Elizabeth Oceanfront because we had stayed once before. Not only did they get us a room immediately but their kindness and compassion for our tree damaged car, and our fragile state was much appreciated. I think they were wonder to us, and I recommend the clean, quiet hotel for rest and respite. Excellent staff. I certainly appreciate the staffing there the most.

Yelp
Horrible experience! Arrived at 3pm and was told room wasn't ready. Room wasn't ready until 5:30. One faucet didn't work. One sink stopper was broken. The worst part of my 3 night stay was the noise. Family in the room above was insanely loud. It seldom stopped. Went on late into the evening. I complained at least five times. Employees at the desk were very polite, but completely ineffective. I've travel extensively and I can state unequivocally this was the worst hotel experience I've ever had.

Sad, this hotel used to be the gem of Newport. You can tell the quality has greatly gone down in service, cleaning and with Covid half the amenities are no longer offered, yet the price is still the same or even higher. You can't charge a premium rate and deliver poor quality rooms like this. The fireplace and balcony are cool, but the fireplace constantly goes out and has to be relit so you have some random employee coming into your room 2-3 times to have it done. We finally just said forget it. Not looking good.

Yelp
This place is terrible... I stayed here about 10 years ago and it was wonderful. Plush bed and pillows, fresh sheets, clean and tidy rooms. Not this time around. I made the reservation over the phone with ease but upon checking in I was greeted by a woman with her mask down to her chin. She's literally standing in back of a sign that reads "all guest and staff must wear face masks" It's stressful enough to travel in the time of Covid so I was expecting a little more integrity with that. I asked about checking out if it's contactless payment. She explains to me that my card has been charged already. I told her why? That's never happened before. Usually the card is just to hold the room. How do you know I wasn't using cash to pay? She said it could be taken care of next day. I reserved a room with a king size bed (by the way the bed was warped and uncomfortable) the lady tried to offer me two queens since I was there with my little kid. I told her no thank you I prefer the one bed. She let out a sigh of disgust and said. Really lady, still? Wtf is that supposed to mean. I am a woman traveling with a kid so what if I feel safe sleeping in the same bed? And why do I have to explain that to you? So not only was my card charged already without asking I was being judged for my sleeping arrangements. At this point I just wanted to go to bed, it was late and I grabbed my key card and went to the room. Upon opening the room the back slider was wide open. It was freezing cold. I pulled the blankets back to find hairs in the bed. Fortunately I bring my own blankets and pillows and was able to put down a thick blanket and sleep with our other one over us. The room was disgusting. Housecleaning did a terrible job. Hairs in the bathtub, sink, and there was a used glass from the previous person. The slider had dirty fingerprints all over it, the floor was dirty with crumbs, the toilet seat looked as if it just came out of a dumpster. I've stayed at better places then this in South Central Los Angeles...! The tv wasn't working and the smell was so musty. The lock did not work properly so I had to prop up a chair against it. The breakfast offered was a plastic wrap bagel. Needless to say I checked out as quick as possible the next day and found somewhere else to stay. Upon checking out the lady at the desk asked why I was checking out so early? I asked her why? She proceeded to explain that they charged my credit card for a whole week...!!! She returned the charges and I got a receipt. However, I never once agreed to the charges in the first place. This place is so ridiculous and disgusting. Such a dissatisfaction. Especially for the cost of it. Please go elsewhere.

Yelp
We actually booked the wrong hotel but kept our reservation as they wouldn't refund our money. The room was decent. The couch in the room had no spring to it. Bathroom was super small. The refrigerator was not working. The bed was so high up I felt like we needed a step stool. If you're over 6 ft tall it would have been the right height but neither of us were and it was difficult to get onto the bed easily. When we checked in we got a sheet saying that there was salmon chowder at 5:00. We went down at 525, And there was no chowder. They were more worried about decorating their Christmas tree then having something on a sheet we had gotten when we checked in. It also listed cookies at 7pm. We went down again about 15 minutes past that time, and no cookies were seen.

Yelp
On the Oregon Coast, a Dutch Bros. Coffee within walking distance, a fireplace in the room??? Win, win, and win!!! We arrived there at night after driving from Portland in the rain and wind. Hair-raising to say the least. We parked the van in the structure and I could hear the ocean from where we parked, but could not see a thing. I knew it was out there though. We got into our hotel room and were pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was and the fact that there was a fireplace. I went to the balcony and got that same feeling about the ocean- it's out there, but could not really see it. Since there was an indoor pool, the kids wanted to go swimming. We all went and I noticed that there was a sauna, a Jacuzzi, and a workout room in the building. I also noticed that there was a door leading out facing the beach. I opened it and got a blast of cold ocean air and I could see the ocean- barely-from where I was standing. It looked awesome and creepy. To my right I saw a lighthouse with its light going out to sea. That night we slept with the window cracked open just a little and we were able to hear the ocean all night. Just beautiful!!! We woke up to a gray rainy beach scene. I went to Dutch Bros. and brought back some coffee and kicked back on the balcony. The wife did the same thing. It was a pleasant and restful night as the beds were very comfortable. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast and had to check out afterwards. It is safe to say that we will definitely be back. VERY cozy and clean!!!

Yelp
Stayed here for 5 nights in late fall. Really was a great place, you can't beat the location it's pretty much right on the beach. I was surprised to see so many negative reviews. The only negative during our stay was the place seemed a bit short staffed but that's become a norm everywhere now. The pool and firepit areas were our favorite. I would stay here again for sure.

Yelp
This hotel is a one of a kind lodging experience. First off Beautifully decorated marine modern style design. The orange seashell stain glass light covers. Second the balcony from the balcony of my room 424, amazing. You can see the beautiful and majestic pacific for miles. Beach is clean and free of trash.

Yelp
Great deal offered online. Looks like they may be updating the place. Some really great things and somethings that need some attention. Great= nice breakfast, beautiful views from our room, easy access to beach down the street (2 min walk), walking distance to Nye Beach (5 min), charming patio/fire pit area, evening salmon chowder served, nice color scheme and decor. What needs work= no equipment in the exercise room, pool and spa need to be re-stucco/painted, linens and towels need to be combed through to weed out tired/torn ones. It wouldn't hurt to have some more staff on hand to help with room cleaning. We waited an hour and a half past 4 pm to get into our room. All in all. We really enjoyed the hotel and look forward to their updates. We plan on returning.

Yelp
Great location for beach access, nearby food locations, and very comfortable beds. Staff was extremely accommodating to the customers' needs and had any items requested brought to the room immediately, or any service completed entirely. Very affordable and checking in and out was made easy. Heads up, if they say checkout is at 4 pm, but you're in the area earlier, call ahead and ask if your room is ready or ask for a courtesy call when it is ready so you can go to your room earlier! We were able to go to our room 1 hour early as we were in the area already.

Yelp
Completely ruined our beach trip. We were told we could check in at 4 PM. We arrived promptly at 4:00 and were told that our room would be ready in a few minutes. Waiting Waiting Waiting. At 6:30 PM, our room was still not ready and we were told there were still five rooms ahead of ours that needed to be cleaned. As we only had one night at the coast, we decided to head back to Portland. We did receive a full refund, but that did not compensate for a completely ruined trip. Several families did the same thing. I realize cleaning rooms is vastly different in the era of Covid, but whatever model this hotel is using is clearly not working. Perhaps they need to reduce the amount of available rooms or temporarily increase the cleaning crew. I can't imagine other hotels are having this same issue.

Yelp
Stayed here last weekend and the hotel was gross. My mom paid for my family to stay the night there and when we got there the toilet had pubes, pee and poop all over it. The shower still had pubes in it and the bed sheet had a brown mark on it. My mom paid about $250 for one night. The beds were like springy rocks. It was terrible. There were literally clothes in the drawers from whoever was there before. The vanity kit they have with their toiletries was already opened. I pushed our stuff in the corner, got my daughter ready for the pool because she was begging to go swimming and went down and asked them to clean it before we got back. The lady at the front desk seemed irritated with the question and just said she'd call some guy to do it. When we got back the bathroom still had pubes all over it. When I told my mom and she called the man on the phone who apparently is some assistant manager but he didn't care at all and just cut my mother off and transferred her call to the general managers voicemail who never called her back. My mom was never compensated for our stay on any level. We never got an apology or anything. I'm thoroughly disappointed and when friends ask where to stay I'll tell them to avoid the Elizabeth because it's dirty, the service sucks and the management is careless.

Yelp
I have stayed that the Elizabeth on several occasions - the location is great the views the rooms are amazing. The staff is very nice and kind. However, the hotel is in serious need of some updating and cleaning. My room was not clean, dust on the headboard, towels frayed on the ends, dirt on the carpet and a stained sofa. The patio door would only open about 12 inches and the screen had holes in it so you couldn't leave the door open in the evening as bugs would get in. As for the "take and go" breakfast. It needs to GO - get rid of it. For what this hotel charges it could do so much better. Jimmy Dean sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches are gross. Mine was in the steamer and even though I was there at 7:05a for breakfast it was soggy on the bottom and hard on the top. Get rid of these gross, artificial, high calorie excuse for a sandwich. As for the hard boiled eggs! Two in a baggie already peeled - so who touched my eggs before me? I'm throwing them out. Per-packaged bagels, no butter only fake cream cheese are the worst. Who knows how long they were in the freezer and thawed and refrozen. The coffee is not bad but not good either - it's doable. I recommend that this hotel re-think this grab and go breakfast as an excuse for food. Please stop blaming it on COVID we are over COVID and your corporation is CHEAP! Get some local companies to supply something decent for your guests to enjoy in the morning. I'm afraid I'm going to have to look for another hotel the next time I come to the coast.

Yelp
We stayed one night here while we were visiting Newport since it was about all we could find. Our usual place was already booked. We ended up paying a little over $300 for a King "suite" there really wasn't much to make it feel like a suite. Granted we did have a fireplace and a balcony but the knob on the fireplace was a little junky and sunken in. There were a few areas of the room that weren't very clean as well as one of the glass panels coming apart from the ceiling. Our sink stopper also was not functioning. I definitely wouldn't stay here again due to how expensive it was. The front desk agent was very nice but the rest of the experience just didn't do it for us. There is no way the room was worth $300+...

Yelp
We were very excited to arrive for a Veteran's Day weekend getaway to the coast, needing a couple days' rest and relaxation at a nice oceanfront hotel. What we received was a reception clerk who was more interested in talking with her cleaning staffmember for a few minutes, without acknowledging us waiting right in front of her. Unfortunately, this unwelcoming behavior set the tone for a pathetic experience overall. As the clerk checked me in, she let me know that as she took my ID and credit card, that I could "start on these papers" since we had brought our Golden Retriever for the weekend. One form was of the standard fare - which vehicle you brought, responsibility for room damage, etc. I was floored at the second form, which made us agree to not leaving the room at any time without our dog, or that we would face a $500 penalty! Not only was this not listed anywhere on the hotel website (where we booked our stay), but we had specifically reserved a pet-friendly room. How pet-unfriendly can this hotel be? They also were going to charge us $20 per night for our dog, when the confirmation from their own site said $25 per stay. Not a good first impression at all. Once we got to the room, there were more problems. The first thing we wanted to do was open the patio door, hear the ocean and turn on the cozy fireplace. Our room, unfortunately, was situated right in front of the pool room's fan, so we couldn't hear the ocean at all. With the door closed, we could still hear the fan - pretty loud! The fireplace worked a little, but didn't stay on for more than 45 minutes at a time. And the room was so cold, and I'm naturally warm-natured. Playing with the thermostat, it was old but I could tell it was working because of the click. Looking around the room, I discovered there were absolutely no vents!! Yep, no heat in Room 132. Before I noticed that the heat had no way to work, I called the front desk and asked for a room change - one away from the pool fan. The lady said they were booked, that no other rooms were available, and that she would forward my complaint to management. Funny thing - we went onto the hotel website and found a King Suite available! It should be noted that we paid $190 plus taxes for the first night, and over $130 for the second. This is not Motel 6 pricing, but I've seen some that are run better! When we checked out, the gentleman was very friendly and asked how the stay was. I was honest and told him we were very disappointed and why. His concern quickly shifted to justifications and poor listening skills. Although the hotel is at a beautiful location and the furnishings were decent, we will never stay here again. We would rather have stayed home and enjoyed our apartment that has heat, and be able to leave for dinner without wondering when the 'dog police' would come by to charge us an extra $500. All it would have taken is for those policies and lack of amenities to be posted on the hotel website. We would have found a better place or stayed home! So disappointed and frustrated...

Yelp
We went for a quick get away and settled on this hotel for location. Just not a satisfying stay for the cost. We paid around 160.00 winter rates Check-in. We did show up early, around 1:00. I walked in and said I would like to check in. This was just the first issue. The young lady immediately told me I can't check in until 4:00. I said really, I was told over the phone 1:00 - 2:00 would not be a problem. She did not even look to see if a room was ready for a check-in. She said come back at 4:00. So we left and almost canceled except for the cancellation fee. We came back @ 4:20 and the place was full, not much parking. This was the moment when we were told the pool was down. We asked how long, she said she didnt know but really didn't give a dam about making a guest happy. Maybe say I'll check or I have not been told yet. Anyway that really set the tone. The room looked fine when walking in. After looking around the couch had stains that looked like, we'll use your imagination. The room was near the pool vents and all we could smell was natural gas and pool exhaust, it was loud and smelly. The fireplace only had a pilot flame and would not start. We called the front desk and was told it only makes a small flame. The vent below the fireplace is the actual heater that is controlled by the thermostat. I opened the fireplace and hit the on button and it ignited. I reversed that before bed, thought it may burn the place down. Sitting on the patio looking at a roof and ocean smelling gas and pool vent fumes is not a great time. Getting to the beach, please don't think you'll go from your room to the beach. You will walk down the road and find beach access. We used the hotel next door beach access. Should of stayed there. Parking is tight and very unorganized. Once you park don't leave, you'll be parked on the street. Do not bring a truck or large vehicle. You won't fit. I recommend that they hire hosts with a personality and charisma. Hopefully this was just a one off and is normally better. I will not ever be back. Management needs to read the reviews and correct issues. Stop banking on the location.

Yelp
I liked this place. The staff members were very nice and answered all my questions, even where the nearest place is to get chili. The woman I asked knew the answer! Even the housekeepers seemed chipper and wished us a good day on the way home. I asked for more towels, then left and my partner put the "do not disturb" sign on the door, so they kept calling to see if we had returned, and I got my towels, and they were very nice about it since I was being sort of insensitive in retrospect. There's a gym, hot tub, pool, and some outdoor fire pits. There are good treats served throughout the day like lots of breakfast food, delicious salmon chowder, cookies, as well as a soda vending machine and ice machine. There are the usual free newspapers and brochures in the lobby, which I always enjoy. They gave us a room with two beds for the price of one, top floor, and the room was clean and overlooked the ocean. There was lots of furniture, a hide-a-bed, tables, chairs, countertops, cupboards, fluffy robes, clean rooms, bottled water and porcorn, Keurig, coffee cups, water cups, ice bucket, hygiene stuff, soap, shampoo & conditioner, wifi, lots of channels and plugins, fridge, microwave, fireplace, big TV, balcony, ceiling fans, lots of lights, 3 locks on the door, soft beds and bed coverings, and probably some other things that I'm forgetting at the moment. I was very comfortable and enjoying myself when my partner looked on Yelp and saw all the bad reviews, and I was surprised. I guess some people can make hell out of heaven.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my stay there. Nice staff. Cookies and chowder are a nice touch. Free breakfast was one of the better ones I've been to. The outdoor seating area with the fire is really really cool. Room had everything on my checklist (fireplace, oceanfront balcony, jet tub). Only complaint is you can tell they don't take a lot of time cleaning the jet tubs.

Yelp
Loved the view and that it had a pet friendly room. Loved the fire pit and the swimming pool. The front staff were very friendly. I'd love to see an actual hot breakfast for the price we paid, and housekeeping service. Mold in the bathroom and our back sliding door had no screen. Don't expect breakfast to be amazing here, and be prepared to take out your own trash.

Yelp
This place needs some serious help. The views are spectacular but that's it. Dirty room, spiders, 6+months of dust on the ceiling fan. Heat coming from fireplace without any ac unit. The balcony had a very unstable railing. Beds were awful. Hair all over bathroom. I mean come on. Way too much money for what you get. Used to be a nice place years ago. Front staff very nice.

Yelp
We stayed here for 4 nights. All rooms face the sea and the surf creates a constant reminder that you're on vacation. The staff is kind and happy. The location is convenient to town. You can walk on the beach any old time. The pool and jacuzzi are well kept and though the breakfast is nothing special there are sufficient options for the budget conscious. I'd rather spent the extra money at La Maison or The Coffee House, personal choice. Also try Coast and Vine. Great food. Got the best socks I've ever owned at thE alpaca store on the main drag.

Yelp
Besides the fabulous accommodations, I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff was at a time of a major hiccup in our vacation! I ended up being transported to the hospital when my gall bladder decided to wreak havoc on me. We were only supposed to be staying one night (a Thursday night) and had our two pooches with us. They worked with my husband to accommodate him and the dogs a second night and he could have stayed another if needed. Aside of all that hoo-hah, the accommodations were wonderful as well. We had a double-queen room with a view to the ocean. Loved the simple but tasteful decor and layout of the room. Sadie was especially appreciative of the pillows! We will definitely go back next time we are in Newport!

Yelp
There were good things and not so good things about this location. If you want a clean, nice room right on the beach, this is the spot. The rooms are not huge but offer a refrigerator and microwave along with a Keurig and the beds are comfortable. Great balcony, gorgeous little hang out spot next to their indoor pool. The pool is small but nice and has a hot tub, which is a plus. Their customer service is not the best that is why I only gave it 4 stars. They have a continental breakfast in the morning that is a treat as well. We would stay here again.
