Lovely place to visit in the heart of Perth. Plenty for bars and restaurants. There is a lovely water feature that has water spouting from the ground and children were in swimwear running in and out of it. Looked like fun and wanted to nearly take part myself in such a hot day! You can't take the ferry over to the other side of the Swan River and visit more bars and restaurants. They seem to rin every 10 minutes or so. I think it is about 4 dollars each way.

Elizabeth Quay is a really great place to relax and enjoy Perth’s riverfront. The views are beautiful, especially on a sunny day or around sunset, and the whole area feels open, clean, and well looked after. It’s right in the city, so it’s super easy to get to, but once you’re there it doesn’t feel busy or stressful. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby, from casual cafés to nicer restaurants, and it’s nice just grabbing a coffee and walking along the water. The river cruises and ferries are a bonus and make the place feel lively without being crowded. There’s often something going on, like small events or people just hanging out, but it still feels calm and comfortable. Whether you’re visiting Perth or living here, Elizabeth Quay is a great spot for a walk, a meal, or just sitting by the water and enjoying the atmosphere. Definitely one of the nicest places to spend time in the city.

Elizabeth Quay is a modern waterfront precinct in Perth, built between 2012 and 2016 to reconnect the city with the Swan River. The project was a redevelopment of an area that had been an underutilised public space, once the location of Perth's early port and the Perth Water Baths. The quay's development involved creating a new inlet, island, and a network of promenades and public spaces, with official opening in January 2016. Original site: The area was once a bustling port and the site of the Perth Water Baths before the construction of Riverside Drive closed off the city from the river. Project development: Planning for the quay began after ARM Architecture won a design competition in 2006. Construction started on April 26, 2012. The name Elizabeth Quay was announced on May 28, 2012. Opening: The main part of the quay was completed in January 2016, just in time for the Perth International Arts Festival, and officially opened to the public on January 29, 2016. Key features: The precinct was designed with a 2.7-hectare inlet, surrounding public promenades, a new island, and diverse land uses to support year-round activity. It includes art installations, restaurants, hotels, and public spaces. Historical elements: The design deliberately incorporates history by including features like the Geoffrey Bolton Avenue, named after a prominent historian, and the relocation of the Florence Hummerston Kiosk. The area also commemorates other historical figures like Bessie Rischbieth and Lieutenant General Sir J. J. Talbot Hobbs

Lovely little area for tourists or a nice walk. Plenty of options. We caught the ferry to the Zoo, who even knew that was available. Very clean also.

Elizabeth Quay is a must-visit waterfront precinct in the heart of Perth, perfectly blending city views with Swan River beauty. Highlights include the iconic Spanda sculpture, Bessie Rischbieth statue, scenic pedestrian bridge, family-friendly playground and water features, and the nearby Bell Tower. Tourists will love hopping on a Swan River cruise or ferry from the jetty to South Perth. Dining is a treat with popular spots like The Lucky Shag, The Reveley, The Island, and casual cafés along the quay, plus boutique kiosks and nearby shops. Day or night, it’s vibrant, walkable, and ideal for photos, sunsets, and relaxing by the river—an essential Perth experience for any visitor.

Google
A stunning waterfront development on Perths Swan River this quay is encased by bars, restaurants and apartments. It’s not overly large but does give a nice backdrop to the city skyline. Nice just to sit and people watch or to enjoy a drink or too. Nicely done.

Google
Lovely Quayside. Modern and clean. Several coffee shops, restaurants and bars. All good quality with extensive menus. Also come here to book tickets to Rottnest island and fabulous day out to a beautiful island with the cutest animal the Quokka. All outlets on the pier open early about 7.30/8.00am. high recommended for a relaxing beverage either a cold beer or a wide selection of beers

A great location for all the family. Cafes, bars, boat trips, coffee shops, bus tours stop, excellent water park area for the kids to run through.

Yelp
When I was here it was still being developed, but I should probably comment more about the terminal as opposed to the actual area. There are really only two ferries that depart from here - one to South Perth and one to Rottnest Island, and the one to Rotto is pretty expensive. Actually, I really wasn't a fan of the Rotto ferry, but that is another story. As for the South Perth ferry, that is located at the other side of the wharf, and basically uses your standard Perth metro tickets, which is helpful (though still pretty pricey).

Yelp
Such an exciting addition to the Perth CBD. if you ask me I think MRA has done a great job. Sometimes I feel that people here are so cynical that nothing is ever good enough. Look at the F&B scene: V Burger, Gusto Gelato, Aqua Bar, Isle of Voyage, to name a few! Then there are all these festivals and markets arranged. I know Perth is slightly behind but baby steps, this is really cool and I hope to see more exciting activities organised in the near future.

Yelp
Awesome new area on the foreshore in the city (Riverside Drive) which brings a fresh new outlook to Perth city. From the well designed bridge to the fun pop up bars and food trucks a great spot to have a few drinks and a bite to eat or a night out. Also good for the kiddies with the water garden so they can splish splash around! When you are at Elizabeth Quay you have the best vantage point of Perth city a spectacular view of our beautiful city. A cool light lazer show from bubble balls on the river which is a site to see. Good for all! Looking forward to seeing what else they have designed for Lizzy quay :)

Yelp
Quay to success I say! The skyline of Perth has been changed forever with the recently developed Elizabeth Quay. It has given Perth an instant facelift and is proving popular with the tourists and the locals alike. Going forward we can look forward to a Ritz Carlton hotel adding an aura of sophistication to the city of Perth. We had the opportunity to visit the quay on launch day and hence were among the first few people to watch the laser/water show. Just before the show, as if on cue, two majestic black swans put in a graceful albeit brief appearance. I enjoyed the laser show so much that I went back several times with friends so that they too could share in the excitement of the lights and action. The water fountains, the floating orbs, the laser lights with the beautifully choreographed music was truly spectacular. It lit up not just the night but also the faces of the people of Perth. Elizabeth Quay has so much to offer, there is the beautiful suspension bridge, the BHP Billiton water park, the bars and the restaurants, the nature based Treasure Island for children and last but not least the wonderful public works of art. First Contact by the world renowned Noongar artist Laurel Nannup is symbolic and pays respect to the Australian heritage. It is an inspiring piece of art standing proud by day and night. The other striking piece of artwork is Spanda by revered artist Christian de Vietri. The name Spanda means 'divine vibration' and relates to the movement of consciousness. It stands 29 metres high and is made from steel and carbon fibre. The rippled shape represents the connection between the river, the land and the sky. Both of the artworks add to the skyline and even budding photographers can get some amazing photographs - all you have to do is point and shoot! Both Fringe and the Perth International Arts festival hosted successfully hosted events at Elizabeth Quay. These were accompanied by food trucks and a fairground and proved a resounding success. People of all ages still come to the quay for a brisk walk or a more leisurely paced stroll. I recently attended free Konga and Zumba classes at the quay and it was such a welcome change to get a workout in the fresh air while enjoying beautiful views of the city. I also jumped on the floating bar which is run by Captain cook cruises and can thoroughly recommend you get a group together and try this for some Friday fun. So saunter down to Elizabeth Quay and experience the wonder and magic of Perth's sexy new face!

Yelp
This is probably a good place to hang out with your friends or do your jogging, take a picture if you are live in the city area. This is one of the Perth's icon now. I could say A lot of people from down south and north and all over the world are coming to this new place The views are amazing..they also have some food trucks in the area too, just in case you are feeling hungry.

Yelp
We finally got around to checking out Elizabeth Quay, and even though it's not complete just yet we were surprisingly impressed! Was lovely to walk around and go over the river, the views are beautiful. We had a go of the Adventure Golf (mini golf) which was actually well priced for our family of 5 (18 holes for $40) and dinner at V Burger Bar. The kids loved playing in the water playground too. Love our little city!

Yelp
Perth's newest addition, Elizabeth Quay was well worth the maze of road works and detours down Riverside Drive and surrounding the CBD. The river is now entwined with the city in a fusion of old and new, with the Bell Tower nestled amongst an earthy new structure of wood and wire to create an entry way to what could have been one of the city's letdowns. Instead, the Quay opens up the esplanade, with an amphitheatre styled piazza, a bubbling water playground, suspension bridges with uninterrupted, close up views of the flourishing CBD and what I assume to be a legion of nightspots, eateries, bars and public spaces to enjoy our temperate half-year-round weather. Fringe World also adds to the panache and pizzaz of Perth and the Quay, with a carnival-esue atmosphere, pop up bars from all your favourites like Five Bar (Highgate) and a few newcomers like Big Els (Latin American Fusion) and Embargo, the new Shipping Container super bar that boasts boatloads of beers and a selection of seaworthy snacks to match. Family friendly, first date-able and definitely your new go-to spot this Summer to reacquaint yourself with the Swan River, there are plenty of surprises to surpass your expectations at the new Elizabeth Quay. Park: At the Convention Centre for convenience, or catch the ferry right into the heart of the Quay from South Perth. Wander down from the city after a day of shopping or even catch the new expanded network of the old faithful (free) CAT buses Enjoy!

Yelp
Lovely walk along the key, it's so relaxing, great view and plenty places to eat around here. Highly recommended

Yelp
What is it with Perth and it's apparent allergy to green space. Green is cool, literally! It lowers the temperature of the surrounding area, looks pretty and gives us a great place to chill and just get away from it all. We could have had an epic waterfront park with a beautiful riverfront. Instead, we get this... Lizzy's Lake - as one of my friends put it - fails to live up to any expectations. It is a bland assortment of concrete walkways and wooden benches with a few measly trees dotted around. The inlet doesn't not seem to have been though out very well, and there is nothing there that makes me want to revisit ever. When I did go, what I saw made me feel slightly embarrassed to say that I was from Perth. There were fast food containers in the water, all bunched up in one corner, and the water around the ferry pier was starting to smell stagnant. The first time I went was opening weekend. The weather was bad, so I decided to come back at another time when it was better. I suspected, though, that once opening weekend was done, the only people who would go there would be the people who - eventually - lived and worked there. So far, it appears I am right. The first time I went there, there were thousands of people. On my second time, I could count all the visitors I saw on one hand. To make matters worse, the contaminated watermark is no doubt scaring people off. My time - and taxpayer's money - has been well and truly wasted.

Yelp
I saw the Quay from start to finish, although it won't be complete for a few years as the trees need to grow and changes made. I was skeptical about the Quay when I first saw the construction in-progress, but after it was completed, I became very excited! As more vendors move in, I'm sure that there will be more to do and see; however it isn't to its full potential... yet! It's easily accessible and, although strange, I love the Spanda and the walkway! I'm hoping to see more the next time I visit. I did manage to see the area at sunrise (because I was crazy and woke up an hour and a half before sunrise to be there) and it was totally worth it! The water is absolutely disgusting, BUT if you can get past that and the occasional smell, you'll love it! It's an amazing area to walk around and have a nice meal.

Yelp
I'm a fan because its a welcoming public free space to cycle or enjoy a walk. The cycle path along the river connects to the quay and makes for a great stop. Will be good to a enjoy some coffee soon.

Yelp
I was overwhelmed with excitement as I parked my car on the street near the quay and fed the the Perth City Councils thieving ticket machine a whopping $4.30 for an hour. I'm going to finally see the Perth waterfront development that has cost taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars and caused painful traffic jams for the past several years. I remember thinking to myself that this is going to amazing I'm going to see the biggest and most modern quay in the world. I had to walk down a road that was lined with a chalk graffitied blackboard. As I entered the quay I noticed a mother getting her pram wheels stuck on the rough cobblestone roadway. I helped her lift her pram to a smooth section of pathway. After she thanked me I commented who's the moron who approved this surface? I then looked up and seen some weird type of sculpture that looked like a giant heating element that come out of an old 1980's kettle. They are not fooling me, I know it is really a secrete antenna that is designed to make contact with intergalactic spaceships in other solar systems. I then noticed the warped bridge that looked like the wind blew it over before the concrete had set. That's when I noticed that it was not high enough for a P&O cruise liner to pass under. So that means when I'm on holidays I still have to drive all the way to Fremantle to board for my annual cruises. I made my way to the children's water park playground and water and smoke raised from the ground. This is the best feature of the quay even if it was copied from Forrest Place. The children seem to love it. I walked in the puddles with the children and watched my thongs change colour from the choline. Elizabeth Quay is not the urban paradise we were promised. The quay itself is boring. There are no waterslides and there is no chair lift that takes people to Kings Park. There is also hardly any shade and the rough cobblestone driveways are strait out stupid. Elizabeth Quay will make a great backyard for those wealthy enough to drop the best part of a million dollars for a tiny one bedroom bed sitter in the soon to be constructed apartment complex but for your normal person it is only worth one visit. It would be great if they filled it all back in and then Perth will have a great outdoor entertaining area.

Yelp
Really overdone..interesting tourist attraction but the sewerage is filthy! It is pointless to have this guy dressed up like a gondolier when Perth is nothing like Venice. They have the fancy bridge and a few near eateries and bars but it takes customers away from the places that have already been there for years like Annalakshmi, the Lucky Shag, Aqua Bar and The Riverside Bar and Retaurant..you didn't need the newcomers coming on the scene! And the cutesy little umbrellas everywhere is really overdoing it a bit.. Also if you think about how the river facade looked before you would think about what a mess Colin Barnett has done to the environment! Hardly any trees left! Watch out or Perth will just become a concrete jungle. You need a few more trees. Even Supreme Court Gardens is in danger.

Yelp
Fantastic fit-out. Bringing the river and the city together as they should be. Will be great to see once the hotels and bars are all up and running. The Revelry is killing it!
google avatar

Heidi L.

Yelp
After visiting, I can see why so many people in Perth feel they were cheated and their hard earned tax dollars were wasted. We went during the day, the water park was closed for repairs again. The seating around the area is minimal so only a few can sit and relax enjoying the water views and unless you have young children there isn't much else to do or see apart from a couple of cafes and some questionable sculptures. Some of the area is done nicely but I can not understand how replacing somewhere that benefitted the whole community with an area that benefits very few can be justified.

Yelp
We really loved Perth's new hub of the city and can't wait for it to be complete. The water was a bit murky but the water park and grass and everything else was just so pretty to look at!! There were plenty of food trucks on opening week and the markets which are great! Can't wait to check the laser show that's on until 21st February 2016!
google avatar

Phill S.

Yelp
Opened January 2016. Many interesting elements but fearing micro management by moderators best look at the pics if they pass lol Or follow my other channels which are open minded. Yeah

Joelene P.

Yelp
Perth has always had a pretty dull city so this has definitely spruced it up a bit. My boyfriend, best friend and I visited it on the launch day, but much later at night. The laser show was rather underwhelming, and by the time we got there, there wasn't much to do except walk around. The bridge is pretty cool, great architecture and really nice to look back at the Perth skyline at a close and elevated distance. There haven't been any new pubs or bars, the same restaurants and ferry terminal still stands. There's a playground and a water park for children but aside from that its basically just a place to go look at. The night noodle markets and fridge show were hosted there but if there isn't anything going on at Elizabeth Quay its just another place to look at in Perth.
google avatar

Martine L.

Yelp
Beautifully designed and created. Go at night time so you can walk across the bridge and look back on all the lights. The artwork, the flora and the atmosphere makes for a fun visit.

Yelp
Here is the symbol in Perth. You can see here from Elizabeth Quay Station. A lot of people enjoy talking, playing, and seeing around there.
google avatar

Ravi R.

Yelp
Good addition to riverside in city. Worth a visit but a bit on the disappointing side after all the hype and money spent. Looks good with all the lighting and fringe world attractions. Popup food and drink options are low on the quality and high on prices. I guess I'll wait for proper restaurants, bars and cafes to open for my next visit.

Jason R.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful location, really bringing Perth onto the world stage. It's only gonna get better from here with the construction of the surrounding buildings. Lighting at night is spectacular. Highlights are the bridge, the views from the island, and the unique paving. Also can't wait for Gusto Gelato to open up there
google avatar

Keegan W.

Yelp
I feel that for all the hype surrounding e.quay we were somewhat let down. The architecture and artwork is nice but there's a lack of quality restaurants and things to do. Having said that perhaps we are still in the growing phase as more is set to open still.
google avatar

Aki K.

Yelp
So much hype, for dissapointment. Terrible parking and overpriced.
