I had a take out lunch from Ella’s and it was a wonderful experience. The building is tucked in off of 8th Street in downtown Sheboygan, WI. Ella’s is a family run deli, that makes homemade soups, salads, subs and sandwiches. I had a Roast Beef sub with the works and it was delish. My wife had egg salad and she said it was fantastic. We also had carrot cake which was wonderful as well. You can dine in, take-out or have it delivered to your home or business. I highly recommend the jem in downtown Sheboygan, WI.

I've gotten a few delivery orders from Ella's, and each one was great! Can't comment on the building or service, but each delivery was quick, and each driver was friendly! In terms of food, each of my orders was tasty and great! Soups are scrumptious and homemade Sandwiches are just great and made to your liking, and desserts feel homemade and are tasty as heck! No complaints, give Ella's a try if you're in the mood for good sandwiches! Videos and pictures are of the food I got!

It took over 20 minutes to get a hot Reuben that was 2-2.5 pieces of corned beef and enough sauerkraut for numerous Reubens. Everything else was really good. I do NOT recommend the Reuben.

I'll start with our sandwiches. My son and i had the classic, my other son had Ella's special. I ordered a 12" next time I'll get the 8". The 12" is just a little to big. Yep i said next time. The 3 of us really enjoyed our sandwiches so much so that we decided we would definitely go back. Atmosphere is nothing special, it's a deli with plenty of seating.

Loved this cute hole in the wall sandwich shop! We have the turkey sub and split, was the perfect amount for 2 people. Delicious and loved the Ella’s sauce. We will definitely be back.

Google
Abysmal service, don't even bother going here. You'll wait at a counter for 20 minutes while the staff ignores you the entire time. Moody teenagers, oblivious managers, and the inside is cramped and loud. If you're lucky enough to actually be waited on, do not get a hot sandwich from Ella's. Never enough meat but always a pound of grease that makes the bread soggy.

This place was amazing. My first impression was when I got there, I was a little early before they opened about 10 minutes. I tried the door because I had never been there and wasn’t sure when they opened. I was walking back to my car and a lady came out and opened the door to let me in. Most places don’t open their door early, they definitely have great customer service. The inside is very clean and they staff was super friendly. I had the philly cheese steak (pictured below), and I was not disappointed. The ingredients were super fresh the bread soft but not soggy, and tons of meat which is my favorite. I would recommend not to waste your time going to Subway or Jimmy John’s skip the disappointment and go straight to Ella’s Dela. I will return soon to try there other sandwiches and soups. They definitely deserve 5 stars and have the sandwich I had was the best I’ve had in Sheboygan.

Google
Delicious and perfectly local spot. The soup and sandwiches were well worth the drive from Milwaukee. The food is made from scratch, and you can tell. I look forward to returning again.

Yelp
A bit hard to find, hidden off the main street, but it's a great little place to get a sandwich. Gets pretty busy a lunchtime so be prepared to wait a little to place your order. Sandwiches are made fresh while you wait. Food is really good and the staff is always amazing. They are really friendly and they work their butts off! Menu is primarily subs/sandwiches, soups, chips, some cookies/brownies and maybe 3-4 salads to pick from. Everything I've had been good.

Yelp
Good sandwiches. Heavy on sauce and dressings, bread 6/10. A good local option that beats a chain any day. We took to go and ate in the park. I recommend!

Yelp
Classic Sheboygan place to grab a sand which! My mom gets the seafood every time she goes and it's one of the best. I love the pastrami sand which. You can have whatever toppings you'd like on it and you can watch them make it fresh standing at the counter. Couple of tables to eat in restaurant, but we have always done take out. They also have amazing large cookies in wild flavors- always have to get one when I stop in! Menu is large. Different bread types. Great lunch spot! Sandwiches are filling and large. We can usually order a sand which and eat it over 2 days!

Yelp
This is the only business I can think of where the staff gets crabby if it gets busy. The food is good but just about anything tastes good if you've been waiting 30 minutes for a sandwich...at a sandwich shop. There isn't much for deli's in town and it's a shame we sometimes have to resort to this one as I'd rather spend my money elsewhere at a shop that appreciates the business and makes sandwiches with love rather than annoyance. Go elsewhere if you can, if not be prepared to wait ridiculously long.

Yelp
It may take a little longer than Jimmy John's or subway to get your sandwich, but as far as quality goes you'd be hard pressed to find a better delicatessen in the area. They offer homemade soup and cookies on top of a wide variety of cold and hot subs and sandwiches. The ambiance is relaxed, the food, excellent.

Yelp
This location is set back in 8th street but don't drive by! The sandwiches are made to order and soup is made fresh daily. It is very reasonably priced as well, around $7 for a sandwich, chips, pickle spear and soda for lunch. I am not at full fan status but will definitely be back to explore the menu further.

Yelp
so many sub shops don't have real cheese, you ask for Swiss & they look at you like "what?" At Ella's you get the real thing, real cheese, real meat ! Like some other place they don't charge you extra if you ask for cheese, one place charges .79 for a piece of cheese & you really don't know if it is real or not. the staff are very friendly and service is great !!

Yelp
My husband and I moved to Sheboygan several years ago. We wasted a year of our lives waiting to try Ella's. Now that we are on the Ella's bandwagon, we eat here nearly every week (sometimes 2 times in a week). Their soup is fantastic. Great people and a cozy atmosphere.

Yelp
Passing through Sheboygan and found Ella's on Yelp. It lives up to the reviews. This is a great sandwich shop. Everything is made to order and really fresh. We had the tuna sandwich and the pastrami sub. Outstanding!

Yelp
Discovered this little gem when we were recently staying in Sheboygan. The service was fantastic and friendly! The food was fresh and homemade! The prices were reasonable. In a world of chains, it's so refreshing to find places like Ella's. It's encouraging to see family restaurants with a long history of serving a community. While it took a bit longer to get our food because it wasn't just "microwave magic" it was well worth the wait! The next time we are in Sheboygan, Ella's is high on our list.

Yelp
Awesome subs!!! Absolutely delicious!!! We will be back soon!! Service was friendly and fast. We had a few people tell us how awesome their food was, my only regret is that we didn't try this place sooner!!

Yelp
Ella's makes great sandwiches. It's not fast, but quality takes time. Great for catering, too.

Yelp
Best subs around! And the service is wonderful, always friendly. They have scrumptious soups, side dishes, and many cookies to choose from!

Yelp
We were only in Sheboygan for a few hours and had to pick just one place to eat out of the many that sounded good! We picked Ella's and were not disappointed in the least! Fast, friendly service and the best sub I've ever eaten! The seasoning was awesome! We chatted with the owner for a while and were on our way again, but will not soon forget Ella's! Will definitely eat there again if we are ever in the area.

Yelp
Always good sandwiches but never the right order? Asked for a sandwich with only turkey lettuce onions tomato and seasoning, and got a half (?) of a sub with all of the above with CHEESE AND BUTTER --I'm lactose intolerant, thanks for the inconvenience and waste of money

Scott D.

Yelp
We really liked this family-owned sub-sandwich place when we were visiting Sheboygan. Very professional/nice, very clean, reasonable prices and our meals were fantastic. It makes us feel good to support small, local business. I wish there was a place like this where I live. I would be there all of the time.

Yelp
Love the food -- top quality at a reasonable price -- but the service is hit or miss -- first time, no wait, in and out quickly (and as a bonus, i got the girl with the walking disability -- OMG, she is so awesome, so bright and bubbly and full of exceptional courtesy and great customer service -- honestly, I want her to come work for my company -- second trip, I think I got one or more of the owners -- polite enough, but couldn't keep up with the pace -- I waited 15 minutes for my sandwich, and I know the people after me waited longer -- I hope someone called in sick, that would at least be a good excuse -- I hope it's not the owners trying to save some money...

Yelp
Excellent subs and soup. Tuna sub was amazing. My favorite sub shop in town. Been a staple of sheboygan for many years. If you come to sheboygan or live here do not hesitate to try ellas out!

Brian S.

Yelp
My wife grew up in Sheboygan and has been eating at Ella's for more than 20 years. When we first started dating, it was one of the first restaurants she told me about back home: great subs, the best carrot cake, and fabulous service. After eating there once I became hooked and it became a "must stop" anytime we visited from Milwaukee. Now we have a family and our boys are huge fans on Ella's, too. This is one of Sheboygan's best kept secrets. Try it out. You will love it.

Yelp
First time to Ella's - new to the area...the place I was going to was closed and this was nearby. I went in around 3:15 pm and was the only person there. I ordered the chicken salad signature sandwich, stuffed green pepper soup, and a brownie with walnuts. The service was fast, of course, since I was the only person there. The worker was nice and friendly but I'm sure it helped that I was friendly and very talkative. The prices were decent and the food tasted very fresh. However, I should note that the food was lacking flavors...I added salt and pepper and that in itself helped tremendously. I also added a little mustard and some mild banana peppers for crunch and a zing and that really made the sandwich great. The worker knew I had never been there before and didn't ask me if I wanted to add anything to the sandwich so I'm not sure if that was an option. The soup was good but again, needed salt and a little pepper. The brownie was good but tasted like sugar and wasn't as gooey as I had hoped. Overall, the food was pretty good but it could benefit from some much needed spices. Maybe they do that deliberately because everyone has different tastes and there are so many food allergies these days. I don't know. I took it home and doctored it up. The ingredients were very fresh, though, and the bread was very soft which was a big plus. Also, the chicken in the chicken salad was nice - not too soft but not hard - but the pieces were really big. I think a little too big. It was hard to eat the sandwich without the chicken falling out and one piece of the chicken was like 2-3 bites for me. I think I'd go there again just to try the Reuben sandwich. Overall, a nice little shop where the food is definitely better than "fast food."
