Ellauri Hotela

We stayed 3 nights at the Ellauri Hotel and ate there every evening. ||It is a small, clean, modern, peaceful and welcoming hotel. The food is excellent - much better than anything we got in Bilbao or Donostia. The owners accommodated our vegetarianism without any difficulty. ||We were drawn to the area largely so we could go hiking. |In early March the temperature was good for walking - in the mid-teens. There was a bit of snow forecast for the hills on the day we left.|The hotel is situated in the mountains in a hamlet, within walking distance of walking trails. ||We managed without a car - the village is within walking distance but there were some roadworks that meant walking on the main road, but they are probably already finished so the alternative smaller road might be open again.||Kepi picked us up from Bilbao airport for a small fee. It would be easy to do by bus but we arrived on a Sunday and went for the easy option. We got the bus back to Bilbao - it cost only 2.60 euro each and the bus is frequent and modern.||The mountains and forests are very nice for walking. We didn’t see any other hikers. Some of the trails were very muddy because of forestry work - walking boots are advisable.||Staying here was the highlight of our holiday in the Basque Country.||Eskerrik Asko||||

Attention!!!! The photos are not true🤯 |We booked this hotel based on the photo and price. it was the most expensive hotel in the region. Arriving at check-in, we were surprised. The first thing that struck us was the disgusting smell at the reception, when we entered the room, there was also a disgusting smell from the floors and walls, as the materials and furniture's old. Jacuzzi not working, dirty water. All that was left of this place was a beautiful view. The owners must change the prices at a minimum and, in order to continue to receive guests, must restore order. |This is disrespectful to guests. |We believed the photo and were extremely disappointed.

Absolutely amazing 3 nights. Owner's - Brilliant! Views - Stunning! Food and Hospitality- Stupendous! Stayed with 5 friends for the European Rugby finals in Bilbao. Can not speak or write highly enough of the Hotel and owner's. Would love to return one day.

We stayed three nights at Ellauri at the end of our trip to the Basque Country. The rooms are spacious and we enjoyed evenings overlooking the beautiful views from our balcony. The owners, Kepa and Randa, were so thoughtful and gave us great recommendations for hikes and area attractions. They even brought a plate of homemade chirizo to our room upon our arrival! Dinners at the hotel's restaurant are amazing and some of the best food of our two week vacation.

Enjoyed very much the hotel. Very good price. The owners were very sympathetic and always talking to us. A very friendly atmosphere. Loved the view from the room balcony. And if one wants to visit the GorbePark, this is the hotel to stay.

We ended our 2 week vacation with 3 nights at this beautiful lodge. Breakfast was great-and dinner was magnificent! The owners were helpful with suggestions on what to visit in the area-and they were so nice! Set in the mountains, I can't think of a more peaceful place!

This is a lovely hotel run by the charming owner - Kepa. Clean and comfortable with good locally sourced food. Our room had stunning views and Kepa gave us plenty of information regarding places to visit. Long hikes are plentiful. Would love to return to this hotel and explore the beautiful surroundings, further.

Ellauri Hotel is a lovely small hotel in the mountains near Zeanuri with luxury and spacious rooms. Ours had also a jacuzzi on the terrace and beautiful views. The owners Randa and Kepa are very nice and caring people who make you feel at home. We stayed nearly two weeks and every night we enjoyed their delicious food, with local products and veggies from their own garden. The hotel is situated between three natural parks and near cities as Bilbao and Vitoria. There are also a few beautiful, natural beaches nearby. All of this you can reach by car in about 30-45 minutes. So if you love nature, culture and the beaches in the beautiful Bask country you will enjoy your stay at Ellauri hotel.
