Friendly and patient service, tasty food. Convenient and quaint location. I had the fish and chips and the fish was light and flaky with just the right amount of seasoning. Our server was so nice. They did not make us feel rushed at all.

Average place with rather expensive menu. The staff doesn't seem to quite know the difference between beer on tap and beer from a can. Ordered a sangria which tasted like a glass filled with sugary substances. Split a fishermans platter, decent amount of food for two. The view is not that impressive. The owner is a very caring old lady who tries to make her way around the tables and see how everything is going

Don't recommend, especially compared to all of the seaside restaurants with similar prices. Was disappointed with the portion and quality of our food, especially for the price. Prices were in line with other waterview restaurants, but when the food arrived, portions were small and seemed like they got it out of a box. Coconut shrimp was $9.99 and there were 5 small shrimp and similar to you can find in the frozen section. Same with the spinach artichoke wonton appetizer. The sweet potato fry side was served in a small dessert dish (maybe 15 fries in all) and it was $3. The service also not memorable and somewhat questionable; the hostess avoided eye contact and didn't seem to want to talk to us and the manager didn't appear very organized.

Great place!!! Excellent service. We came in just before the restaurant closed not realizing that they closed that early on a Sunday. We were going to leave after ordering just an appetizer when we heard that the kitchen closed in 10 minutes. We felt so bad, but the manager made us order, would not let us leave without ordering. Everything was really great!

My husband and I went there and they didn't make us feel welcomed at all. The manager made an unnecessary comment right when we sat down. My husband has dairy allergy and we wanted them to be helpful. They didn't give us many options, so we had to walk out. I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Maybe we picked a too-busy night (given the other reviews), but the food portions were terribly small with too high prices. Our fried clam plate (full portion) had 1/2 the clams and FF than Franham's, Ipswich's Chaote Bridge Pub and even the Agawam Diner in Rowley. Caesar Salad, again, low on quantity with so-so dressing (not home made!). Ambiance is quaint and the location is very nice looking out on the harbor. Wait staff, hostess, etc. were very nice and accommodating and the food was presented fairly quickly. Clam Chowder soup was very good. One very good thing - they have a Gluten Free Menu.

Very clean, extra friendly staff and they have a perfect dining area on the first floor with fantastic views of the harbor! Food is also good and priced right. Looking forward to my next visit here at Ellens!

Manager was very rude...would not make any substitution for my dairy allergy. I left, and went to 7th Wave restaurant. I would highly recommend 7th Wave restaurant...the food was great. The staff were very friendly there!
