We had a really great time here on our trip to Charleston! We had a few lost items and I’ve reached out via Facebook and email but doesn’t look like it is checked often. I wish there was an easier way to contact the establishment but aside from that we really enjoyed it!

Joseph Raczynski

Google
Authentic, warm corner bar with such a great feel. It's pretty bare bones... Only cans of beer or wine. Intimate, relaxed, and calming, I'd definitely return.

This was one of our favorite spots during our visit to Charleston! Great atmosphere and the cozy vibe makes it the kind of place you somehow end up making friends with everyone in the place. The bartender was super friendly and even let our daughter grab the guitar off the wall to start playing tunes. We will definitely be back!

Google
What a great little place. Super quaint and fun. Don’t go there hungry though… Food isn’t their business, haha.

Jessica Milner

Google
Fun little place! Very friendly atmosphere and eclectic vibe! Comedy night was a blast!

Google
This place is awesome. Close and conversational. You can grab an instrument from the wall and just start playing. Oh, also, 14 proof ice cream along with some pretty unique libations. Note that there's no liquor per se, but the wine versions of cocktails come damn close in both taste and ABV.

Google
We are from out of town and always make a point to stop at this bar. Parking can be a little tricky because it is located in a neighborhood but it’s so worth it! Perfect mini bar with a great atmosphere and live music on certain days. Limited drink options but it’s no fuss vibe is what we love so much. They have athletic brewing for anyone looking for NA options!

Google
love the pop-up dinners on tuesdays! last time i went they had a chef preparing plant-based soul food! cute cottagey decor and decent beer deals as well!

Yelp
Went to open mic night on a Wednesday, the host was hilarious and vibes were great!! Will totally be back

Yelp
Great little neighborhood bar that was within walking distance to my Air BnB. It has a decent beer and wine selection. They have snacks as well. Vivian was friendly and had several suggestions for restaurants in the area. I was here early so no one else was in here but I'm sure it's a popular place. Wednesday nights is open mike night and live music every Friday and Saturday. Come check it out!

Yelp
I am not happy with the manner in which I was treated by Amanda, the bartender on Wednesday, August 24th, 2023, at around 6:00-7:00 p.m. I had to leave after ordering my crackers and cheese, I asked for a "to go box", she replied, I don't have any. I had not even been served the food, as well as I never touched it. She was standing in front of the small refrigerator where she had just plated the cheese and crackers. I said, can you save it for someone else, she said,"I'll just give it to the customers at the bar (4 of them the rest of the place was empty)"....I replied, "ok, I am going to pay for my wine." Amanda must not have been having a good day because she brought the cheese and crackers out and told the existing customers, "this plate of cheese and crackers is on her (me)".... I could barely respond. Amanda must have been trying to get money out of me. Luckily, the gentleman at the bar must have sensed something and he paid for the appetizer that I did not even touch. I may go back but hopefully ya'll have to go boxes!! I have been to this place and I live in Charleston but I was not happy with the customer service from Amanda.

Yelp
This is a great place to wait for your dinner reservation at Elliotborough neighbor restaurants, No hard liquor but a Decent selection of beer, wines and creative high alcohol wine mixed drinks. The bar itself is extremely small, but very intimate table and bar setting. I can't remember the name of the bartender, but he was funny, cordial, and provided nice local information. In addition they offer good local entertainment, and I understand they have several nights where they have open mic.
google avatar

Yelp
Our hostess was so gracious and accommodating to us. We cannot wait to return. Live music and friendly atmosphere with fantastic beer and wine selections.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, very friendly, great music, good people and great pours. Would definitely recommend coming here!

Yelp
Great bar we found while waiting for our table at a nearby restaurant. Vivian was a great bartender

Yelp
So happy that I stumbled upon this place. A charming little bar with great vibes and friendly staff!

Yelp
This place is awesome, but you have to set your expectations for the type of experience you're getting yourself into. First of all - there is only beer and wine here with some wine infused other liquors. So set your expectations to have just beer and wine. After that expect to have amazing conversations, listen to fantastic local musicians, and just have an overall great time. The bar itself is super small so you'll be in close quarters with everyone in here. My girlfriend and I took advantage of the close quarters and kicked up a conversation with the bartender and some other folks at the bar. We became great friends with the people in here over the next few hours. This has been our favorite little intimate bar in Charleston. Definitely come in here to have a drink - and say hi to Connor!

Yelp
I adored this bar. It truly is mini, but that is part of the charm. There is bar seating, table seating and coach seating. I kinda of mean one of each section. It really is a "mini bar". They do have live music and open mic poetry for the intimate creative arts lovers. The menus are lavishly written in chalk covering the far wall, the bar and decor is wooden rustic like a cozy cabin in the mountains. All the beers are stacked in a row behind the bar for ease of choice and a simple but quality wine selection. The organic hummus and chips and cheese/meat plate are a perfect sharing selection along with the other good finger foods. Our bartender was casual and on top of things. We very much enjoyed her company. For a small residential neighborhood bar, this get a very high quality rating. Cheers to the Mini Bar. FYI: For Happy Hour (5-7 Weekdays) - $5.00 House Wine.

Yelp
What a cool little neighborhood bar! We stopped in for a quick drink before dinner at Chasing Sage and it did not disappoint. This spot offers wine and beer plus a few cocktails. My friend and I had Moscow mules and they were pretty tasty. They had open mic night that evening and we got to enjoy some standup comedy before heading out. Plus, I unexpectedly ran into some friends there so this place for sure has the local vibe. Great decor too!!

Yelp
The very cozy hideout focuses on customer service and a selection of funky brews, wines and small, shareable foods. The evening's bartender, Chelsea, made our stay fun and never forced. The space is jam packed, luckily we were able to grab two seats at the bar. A local musician strummed away for hours on the tight, corner stage. For me, the highlight was scoring Dogfish Head's Pennsylvania Tuxedo, a hop-forward pale ale that I've been on the hunt for for months. I would 1000% return to the Mini Bar. The service, the branding and the atmosphere are just as unique as they are fantastic.

Yelp
This may very liberally be a mini bar but it is stocked with big experiences that you might not be able to get else where. I've always driven by this location and thought "hmph that looks interesting," but never ventured in to try it out. In my one visit I had a blast. If you are unfamiliar with the area, than be forewarned that parking over here is a pain in the butt. Can't hold it against the business because it is not their fault. Make sure you lock your car doors and try to not block any driveways. When you get to Mini Bar you walk in and immediately notice that it is just that, a mini bar. I have had very large apartments that have had bigger living rooms than this place. That isn't a knock against it, just making sure you know what to expect when you arrive. The bartender was friendly and explained that they only offer beer and wine. They have a pretty eclectic variety of beers but they have something for everyone. This place has interesting sounding snacks and things to munch on but no real substantial courses. That was great with me because I had already eaten and just wanted a place with a great ambience. Mini Bar delivers if you are looking for ambience. I had to flatly mention the size because so many people in the area choose large bars to hang out. This intimate setting really lent itself to the live music playing in the corner right next to the bar. Being able to listen to live music, have a beer and sit in a small venue where you can still talk was nice. Fellas, this is the date place if you have someone who wants to go out but doesn't want to be swamped at the bar. I went on a Saturday evening and there was plenty of seating at 9 but probably 940pm a large group of friends comes in and then this place was standing room early. This is not the place I'd go with like 5 of my guy friends bit this is the place I'd take a girl to. The live music was great, some artist from Brooklyn. I would definitely enjoy it if she was there later playing. The experience was definitely 5 stars, so I'll be back.

Yelp
Such an amazing and special place. Highly recommend for anyone who likes music and discovering cool hole in the wall spots. We had a truly magical night in this intimate little bar, with all 30 people there singing along and dancing. The crowd begged for one more song at 11pm, when they were supposed to close, and we wrapped the night swaying and singing along to Piano Man.

Yelp
Perfect quaint spot for either breakfast or an afternoon beer. We decided to meet up some friends from the area here over a drink and I loved the charming look from the moment I walked in. It's a beer and wine spot so you won't find a cocktail but the selection is pretty good for their size. It's a little funky and eccentric spot operated by a cool couple who go over and beyond with exceptional service. They have live music on the weekends which attracts the neighboring area with a solid chill spot to get your drink on in a laidback ambience. It's just a few blocks away from the more frequently visited King Street so the location is great. I love wooden bars and this one is very impressive to say the least. I definitely recommend this spot for a craft beer and a good time.

Yelp
What a fun little bar! Yes, the word mini in the title is spot on. Celebrating a friend's birthday on Monday our bar crawl around upper king took us to Elliotborough. 7 of us still out enjoying Lindsey's day walked in and I couldn't believe how mini the place really is! Another birthday party group was at the first sitting area, two couples were at the table next to them and then I'd guess about 6 other people standing or at the bar. We took up the whole left side of the bar and started ordering drinks. An incredibly nice bartender appeared to be training a new server so we got double the attention. From weird beers to wine, neither of which I normally drink, I was excited to order the prosecco. I can't remember the name but it was delicious! After looking around the room a few times it hit me. Where's the bathroom? Well just walk on thru the kitchen and there you go! They also have post it notepads and a pen in there so you can leave a note. If I lived closer I'm sure I'd hang out at this place all the time! P.S. They are hosting a Wine and Food festival event this Friday with bands. BANDS! I don't have a clue how that's going to work in that place, so if you go, please post pics!!! ;)

Yelp
What a charming neighborhood bar. Very eclectic and very small, but still manage to put on some live music at weekends. Had a duo when we were there and female vocalist had a truly good voice. Tons of "art" and knick knacks around to keep you entertained, and the inside the bathroom covered with post it messages, with materials supplied to leave your own message. Wine and beer only, and only reason not giving five stars are there very skimpy wine pours.
google avatar

Albert L.

Yelp
Eclectic patrons. Intimate setting. Fun atmosphere. Drink beer and wine and enjoy live music at this neighborhood speakeasy a few blocks from the bustle on King St.
google avatar

Yelp
The ambiance at the Elliotbourough Mini Bar is great. It is a mini bar so it is on the smaller side. The bartender was extremely friendly and helpful since I had no idea what to order. I ended up ordering some beer because they had such a good selection. All of the beers are written on the wall, so it is easy to order. The night I came they had live music and it was loud enough to enjoy, but not too loud to carry a conversation. It was the perfect balance. If I'm in the area I would come back here because of the laid back environment.
google avatar

Yelp
Very cute and cozy neighborhood bar. This place is nestled in the Elliotborough neighborhood which means that it's far away from drunk college students and loud mid-life crisis tourists. That and it's wide selection of craft beers are my favorite aspects of the "bar." Bar is in parenthesis because it really feels more like someones living room than a bar. Artists often have their work on display and local musicians perform here often. If you're looking for a quiet place with good beer and no greek life, this is the place for you. I only gave four stars because on the weekends this place can become super crowded and you often can't get in. If they had a side room or outdoor seating, this would be the perfect neighborhood bar.
google avatar

Emily Q.

Yelp
We live close by, have been in a few times before. We live this place! The wine selection is always great. My friends who drink beer rave about it. I'm never up early enough to stop in for coffee on my way to work. "I woke up like this....LATE!"

Yelp
A great little hometown bar! My mom and I stopped in when we were visiting Charleston and felt welcomed like locals

Yelp
In June, Elliotborough Mini Bar started opening weekday mornings as a coffee shop. Say what? So here's a really comfy spot onthe corner of Percy and Bogard, where now you can relax and enjoy a great, no make that fabulously great pour-over. The EBMCB features select group of really good roasters, on a rotating basis. I know some people will be disappointed not to be able to get an espresso there, but come on-- the place is perfect for sitting back and savoring your day. Slow down and enjoy one of the best cuppas you'll have in Chucktown. You won't be sorry. The coffee program was set up by one of the best (and one of my favorite) baristas in town, Tripp Gandy, so you know it's really high quality. And delicious, did I mention that? Be sure to check out the evening persona of the place as a nice neighborhood bar. Good things are happening here. This is enough to make me want to move to Elliotborough. Edited February 2014: Though Elliotborough sstill has their evening program, the morning coffee bar has been halted.

Yelp
If I lived close by, I would definitely be here all the time. I stopped in with a friend a had a couple beers. The atmosphere, as Pinaki S mentioned, really is like being in a cooler version of your own living room. I love the music, the artwork, and the overall worn in feel of the place. The craft beer selection was excellent. Maybe 15 different bottles to choose from all over the place including local brews. They serve wine and some snacks as well. The bartender was very friendly and I ended up talking to him for a while and having a beer after my friend had to go. As I was talking to him, I found out they are starting up a coffee program soon too which will have weekday hours and limited roasts. Check it out.

Yelp
Love this quaint little place! Very cozy with so much personality. I will be visiting again soon especially with it being just a little out of the mainstream.

Yelp
Saw the charming space from the street and decided to pop in. I'm not sure I understand this place: high prices (even for Charleston) relative to what is being offered. What is the clientele in this location? No liquor, no tap beer, just wine/cordial cocktails and a wine list. The prices just don't quite make sense. I credit them for what is on their wine list and beer bottle list, but I'm simply not going to pay $7 for a standard 12 oz craft beer bottle, or $14 for a small glass of gruner (that an $18 store bought bottle cost), or $10 for a 4 oz apertivo drink (no liquor). To me, it seems that if this is truly a neighborhood bar, the focus should be on value. They did have bad American lager for cheap during happy hour...and the space is cool.
google avatar

Prissypooo02 H.

Yelp
+ Wonderful ambiance. Super cute! Kind staff. Interesting eats at reasonable prices. Chill vibe. Nice wine varieties. - Slightly high prices for average wine. Would like some vegan options (or ability to veganize) nibbles. :) Will definitely return.
google avatar

Ashley G.

Yelp
The name says it all in so many ways! It's mini in size and in the fact that it is only a beer and wine bar and no liquor. Regardless, it's got a neat little vibe to it. Very quaint and intimate with some cool collectibles hanging on the walls. The selection of beer seemed fairly extensive and the wine list seemed promising (although I stuck to beer). Overall, I just wasn't totally in love with the place. The bartender was very nice and talkative when he wasn't waiting on other patrons. I think it's a cool little spot that I would probably hang out at more if I lived within walking distance, but definitely not impressionable enough to drive downtown for like we did.
google avatar

Pinaki S.

Yelp
Its a neighborhood bar by night (with wine and beer)..and it's a neighborhood bar by morning as well (with coffee!). I was skeptical when hearing they'd be opening for coffee in the morning. The area doesn't get a ton of foot traffic and usually bar and coffee don't really mix. But it works, and unlike any coffee shop I've been. It feels like a bar (a chill neighborhood one, not Midtown). The barista holds court like your neighborhood friendly bartender, the regulars and customers sit at the bar and converse with each other, and the day I went, they had even live music! (At 9:30am!) Some things to know- the coffee is the pour over, sort of slow, gourmet, variety. You won't get your Starbucks quick to-go here. It's not gas station prices either. WiFi works, is fast, but there's not a ton of outlets and tables are small-- so it's not an amazing place to work, but if you like energy it isn't bad either. You'll probably meet some folks. If you're not really into coffee, and just use it as a way to get caffeinated, it might not be your spot either. But it's definitely a place to check out.
google avatar

Harper S.

Yelp
We stayed a block away while visiting Charleston and enjoyed stopping by here every night after dinner. It's a great spot and the owners are very kind! We'll be back!
google avatar

Andrea C.

Yelp
The cutest little hidden gem I have been to in a long time. So quaint, romantic, and enjoyable. The live music, a solo guitarist with a harmonica, was perfection. Great variety of beer and wine. Reminds me of a cute place you would see on a corner in Europe. We didn't try any of the food, but I am sure we will next time. The jerky may be great, especially because we saw some t-shirts advertising their "jerky off" event. Ben was great. Very friendly, funny, and accommodating. So sweet. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Katie D.

Yelp
This place is super charming. As the name states, it's very tiny but the atmosphere is warm and cozy. I stopped by last night for open mic night and it was fun! I'll definitely be back. Good beer and wine selection too
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
I've been a regular since they opened. It's a great little place to bring friends or have a casual "let's get drinks" sort of date. The bartenders are cool, live music sometimes, and guest chefs.

Aisselle B.

Yelp
Ah yes. I was being a sad girl all day. I had my super hipster-artistic-one-of-a-kind-definitely-recyclable notebooks laid in front of me in bed. I was listening to Ben Howard and forcing myself to cry and strategically make the tears land on the pages to add... character. Alright so I was in one of those moods and wrote some poems about all the heart breaks and horrible first world problems I encounter day to day. Some extreme thoughts arose on the polarization in our country in the election and I felt so deeply enlightened I needed other enlightened humans to share my prophetic words with. Alas, I googled open mic, and yes, I ended up here for a poetry open mic. I was still in sad girl mode, but put on a fancy coat and hot ass tall black boots and took my sad girl notebook with me. So yeah, when they say mini bar, it's fuckin mini alright. I was borderline grinding on some dudes, I'm sure they enjoyed but like, ay, I needed more wine for that to happen so I got some wine. The house wine was tasty, nothing special, and kind of pricey. But whatever, needed a sad girl moment. The poems were great and I ended up reading one too and really enjoyed myself in this mini place. No ragrets. Sad girl was satisfied. I went home and ate chocolate and now I'm humbly in bed. Sweet dreams Yelpers

Yelp
Not what I expected, but pleasantly surprised. Staff was super friendly. Coffee is only till noon. I came in looking for a simple dark cup of Joe. They don't do dark roasts. Come again? Well, I learned a bit about coffee and walked out with whatever was recommended. I couldn't tell you what it was, I didn't even try to pronounce it. It didn't need sugar, or anything else for that matter. Coffee there is treated like fine wines. I dig it. I only wish they did coffee later. I like my afternoon pick up.
google avatar

Yelp
This was one of the first stops of a long night! I live a block away and have never been in here! What a shame! It was GREAT! The atmosphere was so warming and comfortable. There was even a folk band playing with fiddles and banjos! It was one of the coolest experiences I've had in Charleston even though it only lasted one drink long. The selection was okay. I'm pretty picky about craft beers. I talked to the bartender and asked for something not hoppy. And from the few he suggested, I picked the one with the coolest name. I really didn't like it. Amongst all the crafty beers and wines I saw a little "Straw-Ber-Rita" poking out on the shelf. I ordered one and drank it with the most class I could. Pinkies up, ladies and gentlemen!! I wish the bartender was a little more observant and at least interested in discussing the fact that the beer he gave me was a total bust but I really can't say much about it since it's my taste buds that suck. Either way, definitely want to check it out again. Don't know if it'll be as great without the band playing!

Yelp
Lovely spot to have drinks with friends. The atmosphere is perfect : buzzing, but easy conversation. Wines were excellent. We had reservations at Trattoria Lucca, so we went here first and walked over. Great way to spend an evening in Charleston.
google avatar

Trevor Y.

Yelp
Great little place, we had a good time until a bunch of the bartenders friend showed up, she completely forgot we were paying customers, so it just went down hill from there, wish I could could have gave more stares,

Boaty M.

Yelp
An unexpected 5 star place given they close early on weekdays and do not serve liquor ( both due to licensing rules ). Husband and wife team running the place are great. Very friendly and enjoy a good chat. Place is small but appropriately so. Good selection of strong beers. You will get drunk here....in a very good way!
google avatar

Danielle M V.

Yelp
Cute! Small menu and quaint- great for a date... parking kind of a nightmare tho. But the wine & beer selection was different & good. The pickled eggs were delish! :)
google avatar

Andrew D.

Yelp
I ran out of beans last week, so I thought this would be the perfect excuse to visit another local coffee shop. Tucked away in a neighborhood near crosstown, it's small on the inside, but very nice. Pourover style is my favorite cup of coffee and they just so happen to serve it. Rotating menus change weekly, so you're bound to try something different with each trip. Good spot to grab coffee first thing in the AM, especially if you don't feel like walking/biking/driving to the others downtown.
google avatar

Julia S.

Yelp
Elliotsborough Mini Bar is one of those places you may miss if you weren't looking for it, but aren't all the good places always like that? The inside is very small so not the best for large groups, but perfect for a date or pre/post dinner drinks. They have an extensive collection of craft beers and wine, and although they don't have a full food menu they offer snacks and I know occasionally they do pop-up dinners. And live music. And bingo. And a variety of other events. All in all a great place to go when you're thirsty and looking for a more intimate spot.

Renee T.

Yelp
This is a quaint little spot that serves wine and beer. The bartender was very nice. The reason for four stars is the food. They do not have good food. They need to up their snacks menu to better stuff and it will be five stars.
google avatar

Melissa D.

Yelp
Great selection, awesome service, and cool vibe. We aren't huge EDM fans but the music mix was really cool. If we're ever in the area again, we'll totally be back.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
A wonderful tiny corner bar, great selection of craft beers simple bar nibbles. Went for a Tuesday's guest chef (Steven seguin) amazing 4 course meal for 20 bucks. Chanterelle mushroom francoboli pasta I could eat a bucket full
google avatar

Nancy P.

Yelp
Very cool vibe, tiny TINY room, amazing service from the 1 bartender who ran the entire place! Go there thirsty, not hungry. Great craft beer selection, small appetizer selection. Awesome for a date night or when it's rainy and you just want to drink wine and look out the windows at a neighborhood street corner.
google avatar

Howard B.

Yelp
yup, another 5 star. nice wine/beer bar in the emerging hipster part of the peninsula. At 57 years old, i was afraid i would be a bit out of place..not! patrons and staff very welcoming. nice selectiion, yet overwhelming. comfortable seating, but quaint.
google avatar

Loretta J.

Yelp
Sexy yet adorable, EMB is a neighborhood haunt. Come here for a serious conversation or drinks before D'allesandros. The bartenders know you if you drop in even semi-regularly. Drinks are discordant. Beer is cheap. Wine is priced like the surface of the moon but they have sherry. Occasionally, there will be a crockpot of dinner, at ~$5 a bowl. Not to be missed.
google avatar

Erin D.

Yelp
Fun bar with great craft beer selection. However, musicians BEWARE. I have a friend whose band recently played here and they were stiffed on the agreed upon fee by the venue. Not to mention the fact that they packed the house.
google avatar

M B.

Yelp
Great food, great wines and beers....I would go here everyday! Music is amazing the crowd is fun and lively. The owner is also pleasant, available and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is perfect, a converted storefront that is tiny, intimate and off the beaten path. When you stumble upon it you feel like you have found a true gem. And then when you try the food or embibe..you know you have. As a good friend used to say this place is TOPS!
