Ellis Ecotel, Legazpi City

Bit of a strange one this. The hotel is located in an old mall, that is quite rundown, on the 3rd floor. It's a little tricky to find. I liked the location, there were a few places to eat and drink a supermarket quite a few shops, and great views across the harbor with Mayon Volcano (active) in the background We wanted a view of Mayon volcano from our hotel and this is what we got, with a lovely view of the harbor as well. The room was obviously modeled on a ships cabin, with a decent shower and a mezzanine bedroom. It was clean enough. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast in the morning is in a restaurant by the harbor, again the staff were great, food was good and we enjoyed the location.

Forgot to take photos of the room.lol We booked the Superior room and it has a nice view of the Mayon Volcano and also has a distance from the basic rooms so it is not that noisy. You can hear the noise outside though. The bathroom is okay. They provided shampoo and soap and towels and a bottle of drinking water. They also have a heater. The remote for the aircon was missing tho so we had to ask it from the front desk again. Overall, it was good and the room is clean. Also, their free breakfast is good.

For a budget hotel, it's really great. Of course it's not perfect if you're going to compare it to luxury hotels. But the room layout of our room was really nice(Loft type). Bathroom wasn't the cleanest, but bearable. Basic toiletries available(shampoo and soap). Had to ask for bath towels though. They werent readily provided in the room. As of the writing of this review, there's still no elevator access to the hotel. Climbed emergency stairs to the lobby of the hotel.

The hotel is located on top of a old mall 3rd and 4th floors. ||Rooms are clean. Towels have seen better days. Breakfast is just okay and served on the ground floor of mall. ||Staff are helpful. WiFi signal is strong. But the elevator malfunctioned on day of checkout.||Budget friendly.

Leaking air con that’s not even cold. Key card won’t open door. Elevator doesn’t function at all or only unreliably. Ants. Unwiped bedroom walls, gross. Can hear next room people. Hammers banging at 7 am. Can’t shower due to zero water pressure. The maintenance is putting in new flooring -great -but the fumes of the resin adhesive are nauseating.||||At first my stay was comedic but soon it became frustrating, annoying and just not worth the hassle.||I need to mention that staff are friendly and seem to want to help but this hotel has so much disfunction that I can’t imagine it being a pleasure to work here with unhappy guests like me. I am not a complainer but come on - I’m talking basic requirements will satisfy me.

Me and my wife checked in last December, as the title goes the place seems so empty of clients, the windowless rooms are small but clean, w/ secured lock, clean bedsheets, cabled tv w few channels, airconditioned but not so strong, clean cr w hot & cold, long dark hallways, with free breakfast in a lounge with view sana ng dagat but blocked by concrete, easy to book for just the right price. overall, just ok,

The place is evident of a used-to-be lively hub. The concept was grand but unfortunately, it did not live up to sustain the hype. Some 5-8 years ago, this could've been an ideal place to stay. But not anymore. It aged. The walls are not sound proof. They're not concrete. The breakfast is mediocre and its served outside the hotel.

The room smelled like rotting wood. The AC is old and won't maintain it's temp. There was a cockroach in our room, since it was midnight and we didn't want to be an inconvenience we opted to kill it ourselves. Overall, a bit of a disappointing stay.
