Innovative and tasty fusion cuisine. The menu features sophisticated dishes made with local ingredients and Middle Eastern spices. The blend of flavours is simply exquisite. Most dishes come as tapas, with quite filling portions. If you happen to see the fava beans hummus (Hummus de haba verde, matbuja, jitomate y aguacate criollo) on the menu, do yourself a favour and order it - it’s out of this world. I had the sesame & chocolate dessert and found it a bit too sweet for my taste. Don’t scroll down for too long looking at the photos, the menu is seasonal and changes quite frequently. One thing to note is that there are more options on Fridays and Saturdays, so you’d probably want to go on one of those days. And you’d certainly need to make a reservation. The place has a relaxed vibe with subtle background music and a minimalist design. The Chef’s counter is the centre stage and is a feast for the eyes. When I sat there, the chefs weren’t making incoming orders but rather preparing for next week’s menu ingredients (cleaning and cutting octopus, fish and meat). The warm, attentive and courteous service rounded out the experience. I’ll go back!

Located on the Juarez neighborhood, Elly’s brings to the table a unique proposal of different international cuisines through the eyes of Elly (NYC born) and its menu is constantly changing in order to keep customers intrigued as well as hooked on the different proposals. The restaurant is located on a two story house from the 1930’s. It offers different seating arrangements depending on your party’s mood. There’s a cocktail bar, a chef’s open counter and the full service restaurant. Among the different plates we were able to enjoy we had an awesome mezzo starter, a cauliflower salad with fennel, pecans & pecorino. We also had mushroom hummus with garlic flatbread (which was absolutely exquisite) and for our mains we decided to go with the oysters and the shawarma which was accompanied with pickles & zucchini. Lastly, we absolutely fell in love with their tahini and chocolate dessert which I would even dare to say is one of the best desserts I’ve had in a while. I also encourage you to try their cocktail drinks and take advantage of their in house mixologist. Overall, this place feels modern, extravagant and edgy while attaining excellent service and food. Definitely a must if you’re in the neighborhood or visiting.

Elly’s atmosphere is tastefully playful and charming. Our server detailed the menu as we ordered and we were very pleased with our selection and portions. The staff happily accommodated our request to be re-sat at the kitchen bar that offers a neat view of the line and a peek upwards to the second floor, which we visited for a post-meal drink. The cozy closed concept space offers many different settings for dining and tastings across two floors.

Delicious! The food is sourced locally, it's organic and every dish is super original. The dishes are small so make sure you order at least two per person, all to share of course. For dessert, get the carrot cake and one of the ice creams

Elly's was an unexpected combination of flavors in their dishes. The presentation may be simple, but the taste is anything but. Each bite was a delicious surprise that left me wanting more. The service was also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff. I highly recommend Elly's for anyone looking for a unique dining experience in Mexico City!

Fantastic. Came early and got cocktails upstairs, the bartender was incredible. His twist on a B.V. blew me away. Joined friends for dinner downstairs and the food and atmosphere was too good! 🤌

Seasonal and ingredient focused menu. Recommend sitting at the bar/chef's counter to watch the kitchen in action. Bring friends so you can try all the small plates. Save room for the desserts. Vegetarian friendly.

One of my favorite dinners in CMDX. The food was beyond our expectations. Every single thing tasted good. We got the cacio e Pepe, zanahorias (roasted carrots) with zatar spices, and hummus with garlic bread. I would recommend all of these, because every dish blew us away. The service was also incredible. Our server was so sweet and attentive, and made sure that we got new silverware and our wine glasses were full (without pressure). Would love to come back here one day!

A super stylish restaurant and bar. Beautiful art. Perfect lighting. Excellent decor and furnishing. Great music. And then comes the perfect cocktails. They obviously have a brilliant mixologist making magic. All the staff are absolutely lovely, led by the very charming and handsome Julio. And I've saved the best to last. The food is truly incredible !!!! This is a chef clearly who loves food and loves preparing food. She is bold, adventurous and original and every dish is exceptional. From her hummus to her 12hr chicken dish to her "to-die-for" tomatoe pie. And out of this world pasta. This place is the perfect night out !!! It's a MUST experience.

Ambiance and staff are lovely. The dishes are VERY Instagramable: cute little visual vignettes; a few tasty morsels to experience in the tongue - but no further. And thank goodness. This place isn't about eating. It's about experiencing tastes and apparitions of food. You won't even think of your stomach until you reach for your wallet. Then you'll realize that you're about to pay $600 pesos ($35 USD currently) for those 60 calories, half of which you ingested merely by looking at the "dishes" (but really they're canvases, aren't they?). Your next thought will be gratitude for the various taco stands nearby; those ubiquitous, dainty, 100% organic and super explosively tasty bites will make up for your missing calories at dinner without finishing you off financially. (Psst; we ask if you're gluten-free, but have nothing on the menu to accommodate you; not even gluten free pasta, or hey, not even a tortilla-that's because we're performing here, not feeding people.)

I was really excited to try Elly's as my friend who had been several times high recommended it. PROS -The cocktails were divine! Mine was refreshing & gin based (see picture). They have a great selection of mezcal - my friends raved about one called Huico. -The mezze appetizer was delicious! The beet puree, falafel, & eggplant dip paired perfectly with the flavourful naan-like bread. -The ambiance and set up of the space was neat. The restaurant houses an upstairs area for private dining, a full bar, as well as a cute lounge-y area to enjoy dessert. CONS -There were no vegetarian entrees offered on the menu. -The meat based main dishes that my friends ordered were lacklustre. Everyone agreed that the drinks and appetizers started our meal off great but that the entrees were disappointing in comparison. -The dessert was eh. We tried one of each (baklava, cannolis, and tahini mousse) but none stood out to me as noteworthy. I would definitely give dinner another shot here if there was a switch up of the mains + inclusion of at least one plant-based entree.

If you are looking for the Mexican experience, skip over. Elly's is more like your typical NYC or SF new American experience. Fine and yet modern ambiance, but the place is not that big. Able to walk in during weeknights. The dry martini recommended by the waiter was one of the best I've ever had in CDMX, clean, crisp, and sharp. Mahi Mahi has a unique twist and I am so glad I got it.

Overpriced, basic food and toxic energy stemming from the owner herself that pervades across her staff in their fearful behavior (they tiptoe around the restaurant hoping not to upset her). The menu is a random assortment of what ends up tasting like an amateur cook making NY Times recipes. The cauliflower salad flavors and textures didn't blend well together (raw prep) and the lamb nuggets were so fried you couldn't taste the meat. The pie we received was raw. We were told it was meant to be this way because the fruit is baked raw and releases moisture, which is exactly why the portion we ate had layers of raw dough underneath the crust. We walked 7 mins to Delicia bakery and were reminded of what properly cooked pastries and creative flavors taste like. The owner/chef was on her phone while butchering at the main bar in view of the entire restaurant and proceeded to gossip about clients for at least 20 minutes with another staff. Didn't honor the beautiful tree and skylight by the bar (which is the only good seat there) and destroyed any feeling of a positive atmosphere. I don't know if she was still upset that my partner tried to take a photo of the food that was being prepared in plain sight without asking her because she was on her phone. We left feeling like our intentions to honor the ingredients of our meal were disregarded and instead she opted for a confrontation. Karen energy. For healthy, similarly priced and exceptional service opt for the Ritz restaurant down the street on 38th floor or support the local and Michelin level cuisine happening at El Cardenal (various locations, fav is in San Angel).

Really nice atmosphere with two floors and a courtyard, but intimate setting. The staff came out with multiple mezcal options and taught us about the varieties and flavors. Good was delicious but also not like anything we had before - get the tomato tart!

If you're a hipster American gringo who enjoys whole grains, kombucha, soy lattes, natural deodorants, nonconformist 80s jams, organic food that has been harvested on the 3rd day of the waxing gibbous moon, and generally loud/jarring/crowded/overhyped "hip" environments, this is the perfect venue for you and your like-minded bearded friends during your next group visit from Bushwick, Silver Lake, or East Austin. This is especially true if you prefer to be surrounded by this exact demographic and practically no locals. If on the other hand, you prefer a more elegant and genuine Mexico City dining experience with soothing music, a calm atmosphere, appetizing food, and romantic lighting, I would suggest avoiding Elly's at all costs. As for the food itself, one or two of the mezze dishes were somewhat edible. To say that everything else we tasted was "not for us" is a significant understatement. And like another reviewer, we ended up eating tacos nearby later the same evening. I'll leave it at that, but I will say that the bilingual staff members at Elly's were certainly kind and courteous. My spouse and I won't return, but here are three stars for the staff effort, and out of respect for my fellow Yelpers who have managed to form the astounding opinion that Elly's is actually somehow pleasant in any other respect than that. Y'all do you.

My favorite dinner in CDMX was Elly's. The service was phenomenal from the moment we walked in -- we were 10 min late due to an uber issue and they were kind and welcoming. From there, I am vegan and they were extremely accomodating, willing to adjust a few items to veganize them without missing the full experience. I got the Naked & Famous cocktail and it was so good I got two. We got a cauliflower salad, the Elly's salad, a side of falafel, the hummus sabich and roasted carrots. We enjoyed it all! Not only was the food great, but the service and ambiance were lovely. They were playing great music and it was intimate enough to have a conversation.

Great food but the service was slightly off, in small, but multiple ways. There were long waits between dishes without explanation or apology / especially between the second to last and final course. At one point I wondered if they would ever change plates between courses because the remnants of various sauces, crumbs, etc from multiple servings were piling up and then of course mixing with the new course. And then -- I overheard the waitress for the next table offer to change their plates. So here's the thing when you're a traveler of color and you notice that the table full of white/Europeans next to you are receiving better service .. Is it unconscious bias? Overt racism? Simply a case that they have a better waiter? Impossible to know. But I do know that when dinner was over and I asked to go to the sobremesa" space - they told me it was full ( even though it seemed to be a guaranteed experience in their reservation confirmation). I was offered the chance to wait for 30 minutes and buy another drink while I wait - and I politely declined. Hoping this was an off night ( the owner and chef were out of town in NYC) on this particular night. 3 Stars for good food and cool design.

Our favorite spot in CDMX. Can't recommend an establishment higher. Everything about this spot is incredible. The branding, the design, decor, food, drinks, staff. It is numero uno in our book.

I definitely had higher expectations, food mostly lacked flavor, menu is hard to understand without descriptions and it doesn't have lots of options. We ordered Seafood All'Acqua pazza which was very average, very small plate and too cold (also $35 usd which is ridiculous). The other things we ordered (oysters, heirloom squash salad and head shrimps) were nothing special.. sorry but it's an honest review. Will not go back with so many good options around

We LOVED this place. So much so, that we returned a 2nd night during our 5 day trip to CDMX! From the ambience (feels like a mix between a private residence and a cozy/hip NYC restaurant) to the food (tasty, unique, and oh so good Mediterranean food) to the drinks (special shout out to Fernando at the quaint upstairs bar who made the best cocktails we had during our whole trip and also was a true delight :) to the service....A+. Try the seasonal Hummus, the salads, the pastas, and oh...the frozen tahini dessert...Oh my, that tahini dessert.... Just get it. And you're welcome, in advance :)

Mediterranean meets Mexico happened last night in a delicious, aesthetic, and inviting setting at Elly's. Our group of 4 was treated magnificently, and had a selection of courses, from raw clams, to a 24 hour cooked pork and eggplant appetizers, to a unique octopus bolognese pasta and whole chicken that was tender and amazing. All this was served with great attention and care by a super staff and overseen by the warm, wonderful, Manager, Laura. After a relaxed dinner we were invited upstairs for dessert, spent time talking with Andreas, one of the Partners, and had a sampling of some terrific sweets. All was fun and delicious, and we look forward to our next visit!

In my 3 months in mexico, this was the only bad meal I've had. Bad isn't even fair, it was horrendous. We booked the private room for 7 people. First off, they have a weirdo surveillance camera in the room which is a sketchy vibe to say the least. Next, there was the worst soundtrack I've ever heard in my life blasting the entire time. I'm talking Lilith Fair pandora station... depressing, down tempo, Sara mcglauhlin songs all night long! Finally the food... they insisted on bringing us out food without presenting a menu... they brought out two mixed Mediterranean salads... the spacing is super awkward to share anything but the baba and falafel were decent.. the only decent pieces of the meal. They then brought out two casserole treys of box dried fusili pasta that was wildly over boiled... they put a few scoops of uni on the mushy boxed pasta. It was inedible... next, they brought out a bunch of chicken legs with the feet/toes still on them... ok, I've seen these before. It's quite savage but not anything that enhances the experience in my opinion... ok, but how was ir cooked? It was literally raw! I took a bite into it and it was the texture of an apple! Chicken sashimi! The waiter came and saw that no one ate any of it and without anyone complaining, she said, "you know its cooked perfectly." Sorry, raw chicken is beyond a kitchen flop. It's dangerous and irresponsible.. all in all, we suffered through awful music, ate raw chicken and left starving... all for $150 US a person... go get pastor tacos on the street... go to Taco Bell... anywhere besides this abomination of an eatery

everything that we ordered was fantastic. they are doing interesting and creative things with vegetables. the staff was professional, friendly, and helpful. the atmosphere reminded me of a posh downtown loft. would return 10/10.

I dined at Elly's with my husband and our 11 year-old vegetarian and we had an AMAZING meal! I almost canceled our reservation because a menu posted online didn't have many vegetarian offerings. Am I glad I didn't! They were rolling out a new menu which wasn't reflected on their website. The focus is on Mediterranean cuisine which is amazing for vegetarians. We opted for the Mezze for 3, which featured mini-falafel, pickled carrots, olives, couscous salad and the most amazing bread! We also ordered a smattering of small plates to share. Everything was incredible! My husband and I loved the mezcal cocktails! Afterwards, we toured the upstairs and chatted with one of the employees who told us about the architecture of the space and also gave recommendations for the remainder of our trip. Overall, a terrific experience! We ate extremely well and felt welcomed by the staff! I highly recommend!

Go for the drinks, not for the food. Had a delicious cocktail and a good glass of skin contact wine. Our pasta was flavorless and extremely salty. And the manager gave us sass about telling him so. The kampachi crudo was fresh and delicious. Overall I would go back for the cocktails and not risk it on another bad experience with the food and service.

We were lucky to stumble on this gem in Condesa on their opening night. In a Bauhaus building with a great upstairs bar. Great attention to decor, music, food and staff reflects their style and talent. Delicious charcuterie, homemade pasta with seasonal huitaloches, fresh shrimp from Veracruz. The chef and partner both stopped by to say hello and thank us for dining. Good wine list. Wonderful food with festive vibe.

Not to be missed if you are in CDMX! Amazing food, beautiful decor, fun music selection and vibes. Be sure to order the arancini.

First time in Mexico City. Had a wonderful dinner at Elly's. Server recommendations were perfect. Food was delicious, atmosphere & ambiance were perfect for date night, staff was amazing. Will definitely return again!
