Check Inn
Booked a two-night stay thru Southwest.com (i.e., booking.com) for a getaway celebration weekend for ±$300/night and it also came with 8k bonus points.
Normally, we'd never pay this much for a hotel, but since it was a special occasion, we decided to splurge, and it was definitely a good idea.
The Good:
*Fast and friendly check-in
*USB™ ports & 120v plugs in the nightstand and alarm clock
*Hamilton-Beach® coffee brewer (aka Keurig) in each room
*Complimentary breakfast (8 a.m. - 10 a.m.) daily. Make sure to grab a croissant or three, as they were excellent! They also have omelets and waffles cooked-to-order.
*Daily (6 p.m. - 7 p.m.) cookie hour!
*Bed was surprisingly comfortable, and that's saying something because normally I'm a Princess and the Pea kinda sleeper.
*Felt more like staying at an AirBnB than a hotel, as the accommodations are very comfortable and there's a whole setup downstairs for coffee, tea, or just some filtered water to take with you on the road.
*Good location that's got good freeway access, near the outlets, and not too far from DT Napa.
The Meh:
*WiFi wasn't the fastest but did just fine streaming shows.
*Shower pressure was just OK. Nothing great, but certainly not the worst we've experienced.
*AC/Heater worked fairly well but was kind of a PiTa to set up, and part of the LCD screen was burned out, which made it more difficult.
*Faux fireplace with fake candles that didn't work. =/
*Definitely make sure to request a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor, as the first floor rooms are adjacent to the dining area and wouldn't be great for trying to sleep in late. Our room was on the 3rd floor, so we didn't have any noise issues, but just a forewarning.
The Ugly:
*Pillows are those kind that are much, much too soft. To the point that they might as well not be there.
Conclusion: Really nice place to stay but at a price. Just a few too many quibbles for it to get a five-star review from yours truly, but I would still recommend it.
