When you are feeling like have some real southern cooking, Elmer’s Restaurant for all the local favorites. The food is delicious and everyone knows it; therefore, you may have to wait in line if you visit during the lunch or dinner time rush hours. All prepared in the traditional style, they have usual dishes like pork chops, chicken, fish, greens, beans, mac & cheese, and cornbread. They’re also dishing up peach cobbler! If you like this review, like and share it please. Thanks and have a great day!

This is a pretty good place to eat. The Sunday lunch is always good. On Sunday you go through a buffet type line and pick what you would like. There are usually multiple choices. The rest of the week in the evening it's the menu. There are a lot of fried options so it would be nice to see a couple of healthier options but the food is still good.

I came here on the recommendation of my aunt. I was a little apprehensive but once I got inside I found the atmosphere to be pleasant and the food was wonderful! We had a choice of meats vegetables all prepared that wonderful Southern fashion. And I must say it was absolutely delectable. If you ever find yourself in this part of Alabama Elmer's is a must-visit!

Google
This is the restaurant you won't really find while looking on a map. But this is the restaurant you NEED to go to! We knew this was the place to be when we saw all the semi trucks parked out front stopping for some lunch. Buffet style, freshly made food that is some of the most authentic southern cooking I've had. And the little desserts are *chefs kiss* and nice and tiny so I don't feel stuffed after eating a slice of cake. I loved this place!

Had a fantastic meal tonight. I can’t tell you how infrequent it is to feel good about the money that you spend when you eat out. Tonight was definitely an exception to that feeling. It was worth every penny and fantastically delicious! Elmers is constantly great food and family friendly service.

Google
Cafeteria style eatery with traditional country cooking. The food was outstanding, the service was great, the price was cheaper than most restaurants. The atmosphere was nothing special...it's just a big room with tables and chairs...but then who needs special decor???

Google
My Favorite meat and three. Had the hamburger steak and it was just like grandma's without the see slap on the back of the head telling you to chew with your mouth closed. Plus, any place you go where they have peppers on old mayonnaise jars, you know it's like grandma's.

Yelp
Closed for good... nothing available . Please update the application. Use to be fantastic. Will be missed.

Yelp
Elmer's was a highly welcomed surprise for us. It's tough to find a good meat and three anymore, even here in the south, but Elmer's is it! It's really more like cafeteria style than buffet, but their portions are large and the price is fair. I can't imagine anyone leaving hungry. Drink and dessert are included with the "buffet" at lunch. We haven't ordered from the menu yet, but everything we saw delivered to nearby tables looked delicious, also. The servers were friendly, and we'll definitely be back. We live about 30 minutes away, but it's worth the drive.

Yelp
Everyone should have an Elmer's in their neighborhood. The food is always great and there are always homemade pies and desserts. Their squash casserole is the best in the world and the service is awesome. Of course, it is a buffet but they have take-outs, and "sweets" and desserts that can be sold extra. The folks there treat you like family.

Yelp
Food is like sitting at your grandmother's table!! The ladies there are full of personality in the best of ways! Food and service A+++

Yelp
Just a good, honest country restaurant. You won't leave hungry and if you like home cooking, you will leave happy. I've eaten at Elmer's many times and have often gone through the buffet line. Anything fried is especially done well, like pork chops, chicken tenders, or catfish. The burgers and steaks are be good too. Probably the best cheeseburger in the area. With the buffet, you get a desert. The deserts are good and sized right considering the quantity of food they provide. The servers are always friendly and seem to know most of the diners. Elmer's gets great local support and it's easy to see why. It's not fancy, but you'll get good food, good service, and a good value.

Yelp
I really hate to play the race card, but today, 4/22/23, Elmer's waiter looked over my family and I to go take the order of a white family that came in 15 minutes after we did, when my husband said we were leaving the waiter said they can leave and the other female that works there then said the can just leave. this female also had an attitude. I asked for the owner, her daughter came out saying they were just busy, busy doesn't mean you look over customers that had already been waiting to go take the order of a white family that just came in. We won't to eating at non recommending Elmer's any more.

Yelp
Ate at Elmer's last night. Drove 80 miles round-trip from Montgomery. Beautiful drive in the country. Great food, friendly down-to-earth people, and the owner Kelly is right there working alongside her employees. Don't see that much anymore. There were four of us and we all got a different entree. All our food was very good, and prices are also reasonable, especially for the quality.

Yelp
Best fried green tomatoes ever!! So flavorful and delicious. You can tell it's a tight community when you eat at Elmer's. Delicious food and kind staff.

Yelp
Elmer's is a great place to go for good ol' Southern cookin... While you can order off the menu, it seems like most people go through the buffet line where a server dishes up your choice of meats (deep fried pork chops, fried chicken livers, or fried chicken) and then 3 sides (i.e. black eyed peas, green beans, collard greens, potato salad, etc.) You also get your choice of cornbread (the best I've had in a long time!) or a roll, and a dessert (i.e. pecan pie, chocolate pie, banana pudding). Everything we had was wonderful... Delicious down home cookin!!!

John A.

Yelp
Stopped here while traveling through Alabama. Had the buffet and the food was outstanding. The fried chicken and the black eyed were especially good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to us.

Yelp
What a wonderful spot for lunch today. Good "country food" is the menu and we really enjoyed our meals which included hamburger steak, fried fish, great veggies & sides. The staff was attentive, prices are reasonable and I appreciate the efforts they've taken to be covid safe.

Yelp
It's pretty far out, but it's worth the drive! Great southern cooking at an affordable price. Expect to see a lot of other customers if it's a Sunday!

Antionette G.

Yelp
It was ok . food was bland . Service was ok . I'm probably not going to go back . It's almost in the middle of no where but somewhere. The service was more so here is your food go sit, eat, and leave. I didn't really feel welcomed with my family and it's 2017 restaurants got to do better with customer service if they want good recommendations. Local people can't always keep a business up and running .

Coach K.

Yelp
Great home cooking from pork chops to collard greens to cornbread. Whenever you are in the area and craving a good home cooking, stop on it. They also serve chicken fingers and burgers for you city folks

Andy M.

Yelp
This is always our favorite place to eat when we come from Atlanta! They are extended family with delicious food and amazing tea.

Yelp
You know i read what this Antoinette G put on here and she is just full of crap at Elmer's you cannot go wrong I dont care if your Black White Yellow or Brown they always treat Everybody the same very nice some people if you can call them that would not be satisfied testing pies in a pie factory. I also read that this gal Chrissy complain about the salad that went with her Steak and Baked Potato The salads they serve are the side salad size the steaks are unreal and potatos are huge . Why do these idiots post these lies like they do . Antoinette said that she felt like her family was not welcomed that is utter stupidity .

Chrissy C.

Yelp
If you're hungry for a nice salad with your baked potato and steak you'll be very disappointed. My only suggestion for this place is to up their salad game.Between opening a can and heating up a-la-morrisons and actually putting some soul into it, you might find elmers. It's not bad, i'ts not great. I will do.

Olivia L.

Yelp
Went two weeks ago. Great steaks even with a large group! Waitress was very friendly.

Janet R.

Yelp
We have enjoyed everything from Elmer's. The food is always fresh and hot. The steaks are tender and seasoned perfectly- no need for A-1!! And the hot bar is a big hit!! Staff is awesome also!!

Michael B.

Yelp
Great country restaurant. The fried pork chops are really good, as is the catfish. Everything is reasonably priced and it is a good value. The veggies are all good.

Yelp
1st time here, was told this is a buffet, to my knowledge a buffet is a restaurant where you serve yourself & can get what you want, if there is something on the buffet you have never had, you can get just a taste to try it first before wasting alot of food. If you like it, go back for more!! Or, after you finish your 1st plate & want more, you can go back for more. WELL....... this place has a different discription of buffet.... it is a meat & 3 & they serve you. Around 3:00 PM on Saturday, 6-25-16, another couple, my husband & I went in, only 4 other tables occupied, at the "buffet" there was ONE Fried Pork Chop, Fried Chicken & Fried Chicken Strips & HB Steak & gravy. Veggies... rice, blackeye peas, english peas that had been there so long they had that dried out look on the top & mac & cheese (which was empty) we were to told it was being swapped out for squash. I asked how the squash was cooked & the young girl RUDELY said, squash!! I asked if it was fried or boiled?? & she said.... squash!!! SERIOUSLY!!! Get with the program here, I guess she could see I was irritated, she smiled & said boiled!! I then stated that a buffet is a restaurant where you serve yourself & can get what you want, when did it become a meat & 3??? She said this is always the way the buffet has been!! After sitting, we needed ketchup, pepper sauce, butter, honey mustard ect., I asked that same girl behind the buffet & she pointed to a table & said its over there!! The only service was for the delivery of our drinks, don't drink too fast cause I had to ask for a refill!!! Everyone needs to wear name tags, I can't tell you anyones name, expecially the girl behind the"buffet"!! Don't believe their website either, dessert is something else of another discussion!!! NOPE..... WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!!!
