Eluanbi Lighthouse

The Eluanbi Lighthouse is located on Eluanbi Cape, the southernmost tip of Taiwan, in Kenting National Park, Pingtung County. It's often poetically called "The Light of East Asia" because of its intense brightness and strategic location on the Taiwan Strait, Bashi Channel, and Pacific Ocean. The Eluanbi Lighthouse is much more than just a navigational aid; it's a historical monument, an architectural gem, and a must-visit scenic spot that symbolizes the beauty of Taiwan's southern coast. Early morning or late afternoon to avoid the peak heat and crowds. The golden hour light is also perfect for photography.

Spectacular ocean views, very well landscaped with open grass land, palm trees and several view points. They are closed on Mondays so do check dates and times to visit.

very pet-friendly, there's a grass field near the entrance you can do a light picnic! it can get quite windy so take caution ! ^^

I visited so you don't need to. It is right beside parking for southern most too of Taiwan, but can't access from there. Need to drive around to another parking to get access and pay an access fee. So to visit both which are literally beside one another it cost 60NT parking, then 40NT parking, then 60NT entrance fee. I figure pick one or the other and it will come out to same.

Didn’t really get to see the lighthouse. I think had to enter from a certain point from the town nearby, however I did not know this and didn’t see any signage (in English anyway) for. Caught the bus too the town and then walked up, it was very hot and sunny so didn’t try again when I went back into the town. From the Carpark (paid) which Google leads you too, can walk to the southern most point outlook approx 10 minute walk down hill (and uphill to return so be prepared if you don’t like the heat, it’s not steep but feels intense in the May weather)

Such a beautiful lighthouse! It was very cool to read about the history of that area. I recommend going on the little path to the lookout point!

The lighthouse is a popular photo shooting point inside the Eluanbi park, the view is great over the hill.

One of I'm sure a very small handful of lighthouses that has a bunker built around it. Apparently the design was a result of fights with the original locals who were less than friendly. This lighthouse is a part of the park that also has some great trails and amazing ocean views. The entry fee is very nominal and there are well kept bathrooms and cute areas on the grounds for a quick bite. There is even a convenience store right across from the lighthouse. One can easily spend a nice afternoon exploring around.

Beautiful lighthouse with a great walk leading up to it! It's good to roam around the walking paths before the lighthouse, especially in the summer for some shade. The greenery is great and the views are nice as well. It is somewhat of a trek up to the lighthouse so have some water on hand particularly if you are visiting in the summer months. There are restrooms inside, a bit near the entrance, and few scattered benches with some trees for shade. I would recommend that you enter and take the roundabout path to the lighthouse so that you can see different things and avoid crowds. You can take the straight path coming back down for the lighthouse for a more direct path to the exit. Once you do read the lighthouse, there is a small mart-like store there with souvenirs, drinks, and ice cream. If you are parched by then, it is a good place to rest and re-fuel! I would say that you should check this place out if you have time, but don't fret if you don't get to it.
