Elyssia Hotel

We’re having a great time at the Elyssia Hotel in Pedoulas. Just enjoyed our nice village breakfast. In the evening and for lunch during peak season they serve a varied buffet with regional dishes, there’s always an a la carte menu to choose from as well. The kebabs are very nice. Great family hotel and a good choice of Cypriot dishes and delights. Hotel rooms are comfortable and clean.

The Elyssia is a great place to stay in Pedhoulas. We had a 3rd floor room with a mountain view and it was absolutely magnificent. We also had a jacuzzi which was a very unexpected bonus. Best of all is the restaurant which serves splendid village food at a very good price. We only stayed one night but will definitely stay again.The village itself is beautiful and a very good base for exploring the Troodos mountains. Mark and Marcia Todman

We had an evening meal at Elyssia as well as Drinks on a separate Occassion during our stay in Pedoulas. Friendly Mine Host and Waiter pulse efficient service. Menu was very good with the Majority of Traditional Meals available at a very good price. Plenty of seating both inside and outside and free WiFi also available. We selected two traditional Cypriot dishes for our Meal visit - Afelia served with Chips & Salad plus Stifado also served with Chips & Salad. Meals were good but a little away from the normal served Pigouri which we’ve experienced many times. Our other visit was for drinks and once again nice friendly service and drinks selection plentiful and reasonably priced.

The hotel is very clean and the rooms well organized. The view is great and specially at nights when you can see the little lights from the village. It is,also, in a beautiful location, Pedoulas village. However, the most important thing is the kindness and the friendliness of the hotel's owners. We had such a great time there!

I had such a great time in this hotel and I would totally recommend it! The staff was super helpful and polite! They were easily approachable and willing to help you always (also for external things like driving you somewhere if there was a need for it). In addition, the food was terrific! Our lovely cook Antonis and his team were preparing many greek and Cypriot options to select from daily!

We spent a few nights at the Elyssia hotel. The room was clean, and the Cypriot village breakfast buffet was excellent. (Fresh fruit and vegetables, local cheeses, meats, different types of bread, homemade jams) |During the holiday peak times the hotel offers regular lunch and dinner buffets with local specialties: grilled meats, sheftalia, kleftiko, accompanied by fresh salads, pasta/ rice or homemade chips. |Besides the buffet the hotel offers a good menu of local dishes. Our favourite is a dish made of onions and slowly stewed beef, (Stifado) with a village salad and homemade chips, also their other dishes: moussaka, grilled trout, pasta bake are worth mentioning. |We love the family atmosphere at the Elyssia and have stayed at the Elyssia multiple times the past six years.

All in all, we must say the staff were kind and nice and without them we would have given this place a lower score...||The rooms- VERY basic- a hard bed with hard pillows, one chair, air conditioning. Not decorated at all. The shower room was very nice because it had it’s own heating so you don’t freeze when you leave the shower. ||The restaurant- we had dinner at their restaurant due to the warm recommendation by Lonely Planet to try their meze. I said I am vegetarian and they went above their heads making accommodations so that both me and my partner (who enjoys meat) have a good time. In the morning we had their breakfast which was included with our room order- basic cold platter but tasty, and they rushed us to take fruits for our ride ahead.||WiFi- very strong signal in the restaurant level, very poor in the room floor.||So to conclude, it was cheap and for the money we got a great deal. The owner family is super sweet and we would recommend it for those who are too picky on room design and appearance.

We didn’t stay at the hotel, but after our meal in the restaurant downstairs, we wish we had. After hiking and touring the local churches and monasteries all day, we stopped into the restaurant and ordered the meze. What followed was no fewer than 20 different dishes, all local and homemade, and incredibly delicious. This was by far the best meal we had while in Cyprus and is probably the best meal we’ve ever had anywhere. Every dish was delicious, the host was so warm and welcoming, we stayed long after the meal had finished talking about our trip and her village. We toured the inside and saw the incredible cross stitching on the walls done by the owner herself. It is a beautiful testament to the incredible home-like nature of the restaurant and hotel. I feel like I have a Cypriot grandmother whom I already miss spending time with, having only known her for an hour or two.
