Thank you so much for all the help you provided during our stay in Switzerland.
This was my first trip to Switzerland, and I fell in love with the country. And I also fell in love with the Swiss people! The Swiss helped me out so many times. Many Swiss people are kind and quiet.
This was my first trip to Europe with my children, and thanks to Ema House, we had no problems whatsoever.
The room was cleaned so well every day, and the breakfast was surprisingly delicious and substantial. It consisted of four types of cheese, three types of prosciutto, three types of bread, four types of cereal, four types of jam (all served in small jars), orange juice, hot coffee (served in a dispenser), hot milk (served in a dispenser), cold milk (for the cereal), scrambled eggs (you can choose how you like them), and hot chocolate sticks—I can't even remember how much I got. We couldn't eat every breakfast. I was especially surprised by the deliciousness of the croissants and other breads, the cheese, and the prosciutto, which were on a completely different level from what you'd find in Japan. My children love milk, so I appreciated the generous amount of milk provided every morning. Thanks to this, we didn't have to buy anything at the supermarket (lol).
At first, we thought we'd book a five-star hotel in front of Zurich Central Station, but the rooms were small and there weren't many beds, so we read reviews and booked Ema House, which had excellent reviews. We were a little worried about the accessibility of the hotel, which is two tram stops away, but that turned out to be a good thing. Being only two stops away meant it was quieter than the area in front of the station. The area in front of Zurich Central Station is very crowded, so it's best for stays of just one or two days. We stayed for about a week, so a quiet and spacious apartment-style hotel like Ema House suited us perfectly.
The tram stop is Beckenhof, right in front of the hotel, so we could get on the tram in 10 seconds after leaving the hotel. By the way, Beckenhof Station is also convenient for going to and from Zurich Airport. Normally, I would go to the airport via Zurich Main Station, but it was easier to take the tram from Beckenhof to Oerlikon Station and then transfer at Oerlikon to get to the airport by train. Zurich Main Station is large, so transferring to the train there can be a challenge with heavy carry-on luggage. This may be especially difficult for families.
The hotel was spacious, clean, and comfortable, so I bought deli items from the supermarket and had dinner in my room every day. I was able to relax like that. I only encountered other guests once during my week-long stay. Even though the hotel was supposed to be fully booked, I felt incredibly private.
Please note that drinks and food in the room are charged extra. Finally, there was a misunderstanding regarding the complimentary snacks, but they handled it immediately. I emailed the hotel before checking in to inquire about my arrival time, and the response was surprisingly quick, which was very reassuring. The staff's service was so excellent that it put me at ease even before my stay. I had booked quite some time in advance, so I was a little worried that my reservation might be canceled, but their quick replies and kind considerations put all my worries to rest.
I'd love to visit Switzerland again, and I'll definitely stay at Ema House again next time! In fact, I'd even like to go to Switzerland just to stay at Ema House (lol).
My family, who went with me, has been talking about how wonderful Ema House is ever since we returned home. We've made some amazing memories.
Thank you so much!
