On the Grid : Embarkation Park

"Sporting killer views across Woolloomooloo and the Sydney Skyline (including the opera house and bridge) this spot is a hidden gem. It’s never too crowded and is perfect for a picnic or sunset stroll. Bring your dog or your badminton set and settle in on one of the many well kept lawns. The park closes just after sunset, but you can exit after dark through a one-way gate, so make sure you stay and soak in every ounce of that glorious Sydney sunset." - Squad Ink

Love this park! Perfect place to take the dogs to as it is an off-leash park. It's open from sunrise until sunset but as long as you're in by the time they close it up you can let yourself out of the turnstiles. Also has great views of the harbour bridge and the top of the opera house too! Also features bins with dog bag dispensers!

A lovely park to stroll through and popular with local dog owners. Embarkation park is located at the top of the Navy base carpark. Because of the beautiful gardens and open areas, you would not know that the park is on top of a carpark when you are in it. Mornings and evenings are a very popular time with dog walkers as the park is an off leash area. Arguably, dogs enjoy the park more than humans. Being a dog park, the grass can get muddy in the winter months but it is often replaced in time for the warmer months. You might also see people working out in the park. There are a few bench seats available throughout the park. Tip: if you want to enjoy a picnic, try and avoid sitting on the grass areas. As this is a dog park, it is also a dog toilet area. You might not want to get any of that on your clothes or picnic gear.

A welcome green space at the end of Victoria Street - compact, quiet, with views of the navy ships and Sydney Harbour.

A beautiful park situated atop the most ugliest multi storey car park at Woolloomooloo. Walk up the steps to Victoria Street, Potts Point and you whil walk into an oasis.

I love this park, amazing views of the naval base and the harbour. Took my dog here everyday, it’s fenced and very safe. Beautiful gardens, is locked up every evening at dark

Inner city dog friendly park's are very hard to come by, and this one is fenced, with poo bags and water for your dogs.
