The rooms are getting a little dated- especially noticeable in the bathroom and the couch. The staff was excellent, and the location very convenient. Pros- suites, great for families. Comfortable bed. Nice updated lobby and restaurant area. Clean and well maintained pool area. Staff was professional and friendly. Location 5-7 min walk from magnificent mile and view of lake (if you get a lake view room). The free breakfast was nice for kids too- made to order eggs, other hot and cold items. Very convenient. Cons- parking was terrible. It’s in a garage that is shared with other businesses, takes forever to get in and out, and you have to take two separate elevators just to get to lobby… which is annoying when carrying luggage for an entire family (yes, carrying all of it). There’s no way to pull up to check in or unload bags and there’s no valet. So we had to park in the garage and carry all bags- no bag cart available. This was probably my biggest complaint… our room’s mini-fridge also wasn’t working but the staff quickly and easily replaced it for us.

Google
Incredible customer service, just so kind- all of the staff. So refreshing. This was great for kids. Across from whole foods and minutes away from pharmacy and good food. Pool was warm. There was a large sauna. Amazon lockers - swimming (title of locker) in lobby which was really helpful when we forgot something.

Google
Solid suites-only hotel perfect for families in an excellent location. The rooms are perhaps getting a little dated, but this hotel makes up for that with its super welcoming attitude - we visited with our two young kids during a busy week and the staff were always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast was great and I especially appreciated how clean and organized everything was despite the large number of guests - tables were cleared almost immediately and breakfast items never run out. This kind of basic service, when done well, makes a big difference to the overall experience and look of a place, bravo to both the staff and management! I'd recommend it and return.

Google
Excellent location. Rooms are spacious and clean. Baths need updating the tubs are old and rusted and doors are affected by the moisture with peeling. Very comfortable bed and NO BUGS. Complimentary breakfast was delicious especially the cook to order omelettes n eggs. Also has buffet style too n plenty of seating. Make sure you visit with ERIN on your Checkout she is a fabulous representative for hotel that shares future offers you can lock the price for return trips to this wonderful location! We took advantage of such offer it was a no brainer!!! Highly recommend this location. 2/10/25

Google
Positive: I love the amenities. Free cocktails and cooked to order breakfast is why I?ve been visiting this property for over 10 years. Also the location is amazing! Negative: My WiFi was not working. I went to the front desk the next morning and they had me marked as a no show even though I had paid and checked in therefore I didn?t have access to the wifi.

Stayed here with family on a weekend getaway. It’s a top notch spot. Breakfast was good, the rooms were clean, and staff were friendly. It’s right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city. The bus stops nearby and the closest train station is about a half mile away, although we walked almost everywhere. Also we had amazing views from our room on the upper floors.

Google
This hotel is always very welcoming and accommodating. We stay here for Cubs Con every year. The beds may be a little stiff, especially the pull-outs l, but anything we needed (blankets, pillows, towels, etc) they were on it. The breakfast is always delicious. The guy making the omelets should get an award. And the bartenders during the happy hour social are very friendly and can make a pretty damn good drink for being free.

Google
There’s not a better place for the price at this great of a location. This is now our go-to place when visiting Chicago with the family. Breakfast and social hour drinks were included. I paid a little extra for a premium suite with a lake view, and it was worthwhile. The view was nice, and a tray of goodies were dropped off (for premium). My teenage son realized he lost his AirPod in the couch after we left. He gave the hotel a call and they took down the information. They called him back after finding it and provided a way for him to ship it back to us. We were very pleased with the attentiveness they paid to the matter.

Yelp
No hot water. They came to fix it ripped apart the tub left it filthy. The maintenance guy was great but they could had house keeping clean up. Missed 2 client meetings, ruined suit & after an hour of going back and forth they offered me 1/2 off 1 night stay. I've been staying at Hilton's for 30 years & I'm extremely disappointed in how they handled this. Completely unacceptable, unprofessional & let alone the health risk of a dirty bathroom left torn apart when I'm in the middle of getting ready. Giving a 2 just because much of the working staff were very nice. Management was rude & unbecoming of anything I've seen in the service industry. That's why people go to Las Vegas for conferences to avoid this type of a horrible experience at a professional event.

Yelp
I am absolutely appalled by the condition of the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile. Upon arrival, we discovered blood on the toilet paper, which is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, the tubs and door frames had visible rust, and the room itself was in a deplorable state--unvacuumed floors, stained furniture, and dirty towels. After requesting a room change, we still encountered unsatisfactory conditions. This hotel is clearly failing to meet basic cleanliness standards, and it was clear that they don't care about guest experience or hygiene. I demanded an immediate refund and left. This place does not deserve its four-star rating.

Yelp
We had a fantastic stay at the Embassy Suites! Our room was upgraded by the staff member at the front desk to a holiday suite and it made our stay so much more memorable, magical and special!!! I hope the staff member who checked us in knows how much it made our entire visit! We originally booked a room with a city view and our holiday suite absolutely had a stunning view for us, too. The breakfast offered each morning was delicious! The pool was great and the pool area included a sauna and that was awesome too. The hotel was conveniently located. There was so much to like about staying here! I would say like most hotels the bathroom could use some extra TLC. One of our folded towels was either dirty or stained and either way it really grossed me out. The tub portion of the shower looked a bit worn and dirty. And there was some mold growing on the ceiling above the shower. Overall, this place was stunning with so many things to enjoy about staying specifically here. For me it comes down to this one question: would I suggest this place for family & friends traveling to Chicago? Absolutely yes I would and we'd stay here again on future visits.

Yelp
We had an amazing stay at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile. We stayed from 18-21 June 2024. The staff were absolutely amazing, the front staff gave us a great welcome. The best part of our stay were the evening reception, the bartenders were an absolute blast. The breakfast was also pretty good, the cook to order breakfast was a real plus. The hotel is nested within walking distance to a lot of Chicago attractions which was a bonus for sightseeing. The next time we come to the Windy City, we will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Like other downtown Embassy locations I've been to, check in is not available upon entry. You have to get on an elevator to the main lobby area. Check in took about 10 minutes because it was a bit busy but was seamless. We did not pay for a city or lake view but were placed in room 802 that had an AMAZING view. It was mostly a city view, but to the left you could also see the lake. The elevators took a while sometimes but it wasn't too bad. The breakfast wasn't delicious but it was good enough. The evening reception was okay - the snacks were pretty basic (cheese, pretzels, old vegetables and ranch) and the bartenders weren't that friendly but very quick and dealt with the foot traffic expeditiously. Both the host at breakfast and the bartenders at the evening reception check for the vouchers given at check in. The location is ideal for Michigan Avenue and Navy Pier attractions. Most ubers to main attractions were less than $10 and walking is an option.

Yelp
Arrived for a long weekend with my family. The hotel room was very aged and falling apart. The room was not stocked with towels - had to ask for more standard items. Didn't feel safe in the hotel. A group of 5 boys followed me into the elevator and to my room. No security to be found. Pool was consistently overcrowded. Other kids were not supervised and playing rough too close to my little kids. Day 2: even worse! Pool was freezing cold - my kid's face turned blue! Pool was even more crowded and teens again were in the deep end when they couldn't swim and one actually grabbed my 4 yr old little tube with her in it!! And there were NO TOWELS. Day 3: Even after reporting the pool issues to the desk staff it continued to be ice cubes - no improvement. Breakfast was also crazy. 25+ min for an omelette. No place to sit. Day 4: After the rush went home the hotel brought out good items on the buffet - why wasn't I given these on the first days of my trip? Evening drinks: We didn't get to use our vouchers since 35+ people were in line. I'm definitely not staying here again.

Yelp
Somehow this place is still trying to charge for internet access in the year of our lord 2024. what in tarnation? Also nobody answers the phone if you call down to the front desk, so good luck.

Constance M.

Yelp
In town for the Cubs Convention and this was our Thursday night spot. The hotel has a convenient self parking feature right next door. The hotel offers a pool, a Happy Hour, and breakfast. Although the hotel has many guests-the buffet is set up wonderfully with little to no waiting. This spot is a great location; a few blocks from the beach and close to many shops & restaurants.

Micah Angelina S.

Yelp
location, superb - we were able to walk everywhere (the weather is the only deterrent at times). staff, extremely friendly and helpful - two drinks during happy hour EVERYDAY, who doesn't love that! Only but was with the room itself - it needed some loving (as pictured). overall, warm bed to rest after a long day of being a tourist in chitown. definitely recommend going through the rooms with a fine tooth comb and giving them the love this 5star deserves.

Yelp
We stayed a few weekends ago and I'm just getting to this review, but all around we unfortunately did not have a good stay. The room was dirty. There was food left on the ground from the previous guest. Even the lamp shades were disgusting. To top it off, the bartenders are something else to say the least. For happy hour my wife and I would alternate getting drinks while the other stayed back with the kids. Every time I went up for a refill they would mark my card. Every time my wife went up, they would just give her the drink without marking her card. While I appreciate sending my wife back up for the free drinks its a completely sexist move and quite frankly, unacceptable. This didn't just happen the first night, but our entire stay. The pool during our stay was also gross. There were chunks of hair on the pool deck and used band aides on the filter returns. On a positive note, and the only one that I can think of right off, the parking structure was a breeze. While there isn't any diamond parking spots, it was still easy to get in, out and up to our rooms. Unfortunately, I'm not sure we will ever be back to this particular hotel.

Denise L.

Yelp
A pleasant stay here for 4 nights. I thought with the size of the hotel, the elevators would be an issue, but never had to wait long. The free breakfast and cocktail hour are great. Love the made to order eggs and cocktail options offered. Rooms are spacious, though there was a humming noise all night.

Yelp
I don't normally post this much about a property. This really was super disappointing this time as I have stayed at this hotel for many, many years. this hotel is in desperate need of some TLC. I appreciate the breakfast and the manager reception. Unfortunately both are chaos. Too many people in too small of a space with poor flow. It's also pretty unhygienic. The floors are super sticky in the breakfast area. The entire week. Sticky. Never mopped. The hotel really does need a lot of care. The floors in my room were never vacuumed and the floor in my bathroom probably hasn't been cleaned in a long time the door in my bathroom, see photos, is disgusting, and needs to be cleaned and painted. Very dusty. Also, there is a lack of attention to detail of the common areas, there was a bottle of conditioner that sat on the floor for four days before it got picked up and thrown away. Also, there was a bag of trash near the elevators that sat there for three days before it went in the trash. Really disappointing. Lastly, we had asked for housekeeping every day during our stay. One of the days they didn't do the housekeeping, and we asked at the front desk if they could do it. The front desk clerk argued with my mother and me, saying we had the do not disturb sign on the door. We certainly did not. I found it bizarre that the front desk clerk would call to our room and continue to argue with us that we had the sign on the door when we did not. The other disappointing thing is they never replaced cups or coffee throughout our stay. As I said, unfortunately, I won't be staying at the Embassy suites going forward, I hope someday the hotel gets a good overhaul and we might come back.

Yelp
We exited our taxi to check in to this stunning, modern property for a 3 night stay. We are here in Chicago to celebrate the marriage of my dear Godchild/niece. Location couldn't be better. Right in the Miracle Mike and within walking distance to many stores and restaurants. It was a busy Friday afternoon and there was a line to get checked in and assigned a room. The two young ladies were joined by a third and worked diligently to provide quality customer service to everyone. A family member had recommended this property and made several room reservations months ago. There was a large lobby and a large bar cordoned off at that time but more about that later. Our room was on the 10th floor. It was spotless. A pleasant living area with plenty of seating and a small dining/desk area . There was also a big flat screen TV. The bathroom -again spotless with large dispensers fit body wash, shampoo & conditioner within the tub/shower area. Vanity and sink with hand soap dispenser and body lotion dispenser. Large vanity and of course a commode. Across from the bathroom was a coffee/tea bar and dorm size refrigerator. Plenty of coffee, tea creamers, cups etc. stocked it. The sleeping area had a separate door, a king bed and large picture window. City view with a tiny exposed portion of both Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. There is a huge celebration downtown in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and we arrived back to our room last night in time for a fireworks display! Bed was comfortable with quality linens. I've never experienced such a large eating area and the breakfast offered could not have been better. Service with a "Good Morning " and a smile. Cooked to order omelets and any other style egg your heart desires. Bacon, Potatoes- huge bar of fruits, a juice , coffee & milk area, Dozens of bakery items, pancakes, oatmeal (my choice and old fashioned oats cooked to perfection), cold cereal, toast, breads, bagels. No doubt the most extraordinary free breakfast option EVER! Now then-we also can partake in a free "happy hour " with light snacks, beer, soda and wine which we will check out Sunday evening. I won't consider staying anywhere else!

Yelp
Just about everything went well that should go well during an Embassy Suites visit. Spacious, clean and hotel staff to match.

Greg W.

Yelp
Hotel is a bit run down. WiFi doesn't work. Layout (with huge open interior lobby) makes it really loud at night. Wouldn't normally be a problem, but large number of kids just hanging out in the hallways at midnight, doing running races around the floor, made for no sleep. It's a family hotel, so I guess that's part of the deal? But feels like summer camp.

Sondra Z.

Yelp
Bed bugs! If I could give zero stars I would. The first night my daughter went to bed with no bites/marks on her and woke up with nearly two dozen bites on her shoulders and back. The hotel denied any issues with bed bugs - even though when I spoke to them about it they said, "yes, you called earlier?", which I hadn't so clearly another guest also had issues. It was Thanksgiving weekend so impossible to switch hotels. They did let us move rooms after I insisted and gave us an insulting 10% discount on our stay. Meanwhile my daughter had an allergic reaction to the bites and is covered in angry red/purple bruises all over her back. The worst part was the lack of empathy from the hotel, they denied everything, I now what it feels like to be gaslighted!

Nikki F.

Yelp
Okay stay! This hotel is kind of dated but it was close to the things we wanted to do. We enjoyed being across from Whole Foods! I normally enjoy Embassy Breakfast but the food here was lacking. My made to order omelette lacked flavor. The other item were lackluster as well. The only thing I really enjoyed was the bacon and muffins. As far as the rooms, the beds were pretty comfortable but the walls were very thin. I heard a child crying constantly. My view of the city was nice. If you can afford to spend a little more for a nicer hotel, do so.

Lyndsay J.

Yelp
Terrible experience and will be making sure to emphasize how *NOT* family friendly it is to anyone who asks for hotel recommendations. Check in/out was slammed- line all the way to the elevators. They were clearly understaffed and overwhelmed. The crowd was loud and obnoxious. Many were there to party, and did not supervise their kids. The hallways and elevators reeked of weed. The pool was so full of unsupervised kids that we couldn't swim for more than 10 minutes before I had to pull my kids out. My 3 year old was trampled by a large group of children on the pool steps. The rooms were unimpressive and the pull out couch was incredibly uncomfortable. We called the desk several times to get more sheets, but after repeatedly getting no answer I finally had to walk down there and wait in a long line to ask someone in person. The breakfast was packed full of people and our family had to squeeze in at a too-small table to eat mediocre buffet food, since the "made to order" line was so long. Overall, the crowd of people was not conducive to a family environment, and it's obviously a popular party spot for people in/around the city. Not worth what we paid and would not recommend.

Kirk B.

Yelp
Great location and friendly staff . The hotel is clean and rooms are comfortable. Awesome happy hour and free breakfast with grilled omelet and pancakes along with hash browns and fresh fruit and breakfast bar. The location is perfect to walk along the magnificent mile and river walk front. Very reasonable prices for a downtown hotel.

Will V.

Yelp
Worst service. The people that work at this hotel are the absolute worst. The attitude, the length of time for Diana to answer the phone is awful. Neither person that are working tonight should work at any job in customer service.

Tylia M.

Yelp
Great location. Great guest service. Room was dirty - dirty bathtub, brown scum in the tub; toilet dirty, bathroom needed many repair; couch stained badly, curtains stained badly; felt like were in a motel. We tried to switch to a clean room, hotel manager lied and said they were sold out for the night.

Myshell G.

Yelp
I stood in line for an hour and an hour past the check-in time. I now have to wait with no approximate time for a room. This isn't starting out well, if it was my choice I would be at a Marriott hotel. However, the conference planners is hosting at this hotel, so it's whatever I get apparently. They didn't offer anything to compensate for the inconvenience and was very matter of fact. Not a proper conference host with mediocre at best facilities. Very disappointed and also not surprised, service has no standards today.

Victoria E.

Yelp
Great Hotel in walking distance many areas in Chicago. Some of the friendliest staff I have met Cory greeted us and got us all checked in with snack bags for gold members.

Jacqueline J.

Yelp
Really weak AC (maintenance came up many times but couldn't get it to work consistently) and disgusting room. Dark stains on sofa underneath cushion. When I showed this picture to Manager at checkout, her response was "wasn't there a pillow cushion on top?!?!" As if that would excuse this filth. Rusty tub, lots of dust in the room, and curtains that don't fully close to block out light in the morning. A clearly poorly managed/maintained hotel.

Terrance F.

Yelp
The room was nice. I say the best breakfast was in Florida just my thought. We had a nice view of the Lincoln river.

S I.

Yelp
No water in the rooms, lobby bar is closed , you have to leave the hotel to get water. Breakfast is mediocre. Rooms are dated and dirty

Angelina L.

Yelp
Sergio in the omelet station has great energy and made my day! The inside of the hotel is filled with light which I love as well! They also have a sauna!

Kelsey K.

Yelp
We spontaneously took late trip to chicago and needed a room for the night. Some specifications that drew us to this hotel were the location, pricing and a pool. The location was in a great spot to walk around and walk to the Navy Pierre. Especially in Chicago, parking is expensive and not easy to find. You'll definitely be grateful that you're walking distance to some great attractions in chicago. They also had a nice drive up to drop off youre stuff and then the parking garage is right next door for $48 a night. It was around $260 per night for a king bed. That king bed was worth it. Very comfortable. The room itself had a beautiful view of the city. Take a look of the photo I took from our room view! The shower was not our favorite. The water came out of the shower head, sprayed too wide, and spilled water all over the floor. You also get a complementary breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately, we are not early risers and didn't wake up in time for that. Another thing that happened was, we went to go get ice and FORGOT our card to get back in lol. Since we didn't have our ID either, security had to meet us at our room and let us in. The staff were friendly, I didn't feel embarrassed or judged once by them! Definitely a good place to stay.

Aisha V.

Yelp
Just great: Great location if you want to be in the thick of downtown Chicago. Great for families, though a LOT of conference goers stay here as well. As is standard for Embassy suites, they have a breakfast buffet that is average but makes snacking early before heading out for the day very easy. 5:30-7 you get two complimentary drinks at the bar with house liquors. Tip your bartenders! Great view of the city. A Whole Foods right across the street! SO convenient. Just so annoying: Just put the tv remote down. It and the ancient tv are not worth the hassle of utilizing. No Netflix, Hulu or anything to watch. When you press buttons on the tv remote, there is a delay. You press the up channel and a second or two passes before it moves. Im going to ask Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago to get at least one streaming service and get tvs that were made within the past 10 years. The "fitness center" is the size of a closet. For such a large hotel, this is no good. Plus, there were no wipes to wipe down equipment. So its tiny, no wipes, and if there are more than 3 people in there at a time, its crowded. Just track a run or something and skip this sad space. Just whatever: Dont order food from this hotel--as is standard for 97% of hotels. Unless you just want French fries for dinner, I'd skip ordering any food from the hotel. I had French fries for dinner one night after a particularly long day. The French fries were great. Hotel staff was friendly and cleaned my room regularly. I appreciated that. Pricey as expected. Rooms are a little dated looking and feeling. And kind of dated smelling. Not unbearable though. So much to see and do nearby--I love Chicago! Recommend.

Cristina R.

Yelp
This place surprises me all the time. If elevators don't go out there's trash in elevator. Garbages in garage are pouring with trash all over floor. People park like a holes!

Laura d.

Yelp
They gave our room away because we checked in "too late" at 8pm . Who does that??? Would not recommend this establishment.

Matthew B.

Yelp
Clean, good breakfast, easy parking in downtown. What is there to say? 5 stars. We will come back here when we come back to Chicago.

Ken O.

Yelp
Even though there's a pandemic going on, this hotel did not disappoint. The hotel certainly was following the city's guidelines. As usual, I had reserved a suite via the Hilton app, which is so user friendly. Due my status, the hotel had upgraded me to a Corner Suite on a higher floor. I had checked in on line and went straight up to my suite via the glass elevators that had an incredible view of the city. Unfortunately, I was not able to enjoy the open air lobby. In normal times, I would have enjoyed the managers' reception and the morning breakfast. There's also plenty of various seating & working areas. The Living Wall was very impressive. Hopefully, next time, I be able to enjoy those amenities. The suite was nicely decorated with neutral colors with great views of the city and of the lake. I really liked the sectional couch, which turns into a sofa bed. The wet bar had a small refrigerator and and small microwave. Besides, having great views, there's an additional vanity in the bedroom. Overall, a great stay at this hotel and looking forward to another stay. Hopefully, I'll be able to really enjoy all of the amenities.

Moshe V.

Yelp
Filthy, bad service. Don't step on the room carpets without shoes, they haven't been cleaned in a years. Prepare for rather rude service

Jason D.

Yelp
Great location and views. We enjoyed the complimentary happy hour each night in the lobby. The room had a sink in the bedroom which was kinda cool if the little ones are sleeping in the front room. My negatives were the breakfast sounds good with made-to-order omelettes and buffet but the buffet food was cold and even the made-to-order was not great. Worst of all was the elevators. Only 2 running even during peak times so you're always jockeying for an elevator and fending off the jerks that walk past people waiting their turn after waiting 5+ minutes at times.

Amanda P.

Yelp
Poor service. Dirty. Wouldn't stay here again. Which is sad bc I stayed at Hiltons this whole trip and loved them all. Except this. Curtains had stains. Parking is ridiculous expensive. The grounds are filthy. No early check in even if you have a toddler who needs a nap after traveling all day. The only positives are one free drinks and breakfast (which we didn't get a chance to enjoy) and two the ac wasn't working and they fixed it immediately.

Princess B.

Yelp
The location is stupendous. Parking was a breeze and I used Park Whiz ahead of time , but the front desk does also validate parking for a discount. The structure is only two min walk away from the building. If you've been to Chicago before, you know that means a lot especially when its cold out. Did I mention location was everything. I was right on the 17th floor the view was so stunning even the Embassy page on IG took notice of what I posted. My kids had a run around good time and my husband was able to fall asleep right on the couch. I can't wait to go again. Oh and the customer service was top tier. Shoutout to Sonya and Xanh for breaking down all the amenities and manager's reception and breakfast times.

Haley V.

Yelp
I stayed here for a night with my mom to celebrate Mother's Day this weekend. The hotel hosts were rude and unwelcoming and unfriendly. There was no valet parking, no room service (we called no answer/we called front desk they said the kitchen would call us) an hour and a half later we get a call from the kitchen but we had already gone down stairs to order food from the restaurant and that couldn't be delivered either so we had to go get it. Did not receive amenities we paid for. It's not even close to the magnificent mile and its entrance was a street entrance followed by elevators of a grimey building basement up to the hotel lobby then up to your rooms ... it was just grimey and not "nice" "calming" "relaxing " " homey" or "warm" how I expected. If you're looking for a fancy nice night in Chicago DO NOT STAY HERE please save yourself the money

Donna K.

Yelp
Wish I could give 0 stars. Room had a leaky sink that ended up flooding the room. No rooms available until the next day. Engineering was the in the room fixing the leak until 4 AM. Was stuck in a wet room until 10 AM. Manager said that the one night would be free, but only got a partial discount about 25% off. Found out while checking out! Tried to find the manager at checkout but she was "unavailable". Ugh!

Tristan S.

Yelp
WOW!!!! They did so much above and beyond! Was here for family not feeling so great so had a odd flight in and out. SO ABOVE AND BEYOND! they didn't know I as having issues personally but still make me smile everyday. Went so above to get me checked in early and make me feel comfortable! The last day had a super late flight out. They did such a great job of making sure I had a late check out. Thank you so much for making a horrible trip bearable...! One of the reasons I have always loved Hilton over Marriott's they go so EXTRA to make you feel great!

Kike T.

Yelp
The best breakfast Buffett ever...rooms are clean and spacious. Definitely would recommend .

Frylock ..

Yelp
Great hotel in downtown Chicago, free breakfast was nice, room was clean. However it was just a bit crowded, and a bit annoying having to take three elevators to get to my room from the parking garage, but other than that I had a great time.

Moises C.

Yelp
I came in and they were nice enough to get me a checked in early... for an additional $50/night and $35 fee. I came in and the toilet is dirty and has pubic hair on it. The bathroom has womens hair on the floor. I will never stay here again

Yelp
My family and I recently vacationed in Chicago and selected the Embassy Suites hotel for our visit. Most of the week went well. The room was clean and roomy. My only complaint about the room was the bathtub and shower. The bathtub showed a lot of dings and wear, and the water pressure from the shower was really light. That being said, the staff was courteous and the bed was quite comfortable. So why only 2 stars? The parking garage. We were stranded between two gates for over an hour. We kept calling for help, and no one responded. A manager should have been on duty, we were told, but there was no one around. The hotel staff was almost useless in this case, claiming that the garage was owned and controlled by a third party. The whole experience left a terrible taste in my mouth for Embassy Suites. I will never return in the future. Please do your patrons a favor and fix that dangerous, terrifying garage and make sure that it is always staffed! And please share this feedback with whomever owns and manages that garage.

Yelp
Great for families who want a free breakfast for all Included. Service was spotty (cleaning rooms on time). The floor at the breakfast area was beyond sticky. It was insanely gross to walk on. If you parked overnight, you have to take 2 additional elevators just to get to your room. The check in employee was the most unenthused employee we met there (aside from the super intense crazy guy yelling at everyone for tickets in line). If you're checking people in or out or working at the front desk, please hire people with a personality or pretend that they want to be there. Also, if you arrive before the check in time and your room happens to be ready, it's a $35 charge to get into it early. I'm even a Hilton member, but because the room wasn't in my name they still hit me for the charge. Honestly, it's the free breakfast and 5:30 bar drinks that's the only plus here. Also, the microwaves need updating. 4 minutes to warm a deep dish pizza slice (not even hot), you know it's gotta be ancient.

Yelp
My wife and I have 4 children and always try to do a fun night in the city over Christmas break. What's frustrating is that Chicago has literally 2 hotels that can accommodate our family in one suite - Embassy and Congress hotel. Every other hotel in town wants you to get 2 rooms for 6 people (and of course can't guarantee adjoining rooms or even the same floor - so that's not practical) or wants you to pay a crazy amount of money for a presidential suite. This Embassy suites is BY FAR the best value for your money with a family. Is it a beautifully designed upscale experience? No - suites are spacious but basic - but the hotel has a big free breakfast, free happy hour, and an indoor pool. It's also only a few blocks from major attractions and abundant restaurant options (we ate at Sugar Factory with the kids - about a 7 minute walk). While Congress Hotel (literally the only other place with suites that can fit a family in Chicago) is less expensive, the hotel is badly in need of updating and is too far from winter attractions or kid friendly restaurants to work well for a family. For future family outings in the city, Embassy will be the only place we book.

Yelp
Pillows SUCK....flat as a pancake. Need to replace mattress on sofa bed. Trying to watch TV to wind down in the evening is watching pixels of breaking up picture. Free breakfast ok...hot food wasn't hot. Thank goodness for Whole Foods across the street.

Yelp
Location, Location, Location Perfect five star location for a family vacation to Chicago. Central to so many restaurants, parks, museums, the Riverwalk and more. This upped the stars from a 3 to a 4. Fairly quiet during St. Patrick's Day weekend, but hotel still had a fun festive feel. Green drinks included green lemonade for the complimentary Happy Hour. They even had a man in a kilt playing the bagpipes. Rooms are the standard for Embassy Suites. The bedroom had two double beds. Nice to have a sink in the bedroom. The living room had a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge and a sink. The sleeper sofa in that room was not comfortable at all...so thin, like a camping mat, that you could feel and hear the springs as you moved. Breakfast was standard fare and exactly the same for the five days of our trip-cooked to order eggs, oatmeal bar, hash browns, biscuits, pancakes, breakfast meats, dry cereal and apples and oranges. One day they did have cut up honeydew and cantaloupe. Would have been nice to have a little variety. (Breakfast buffet at the DoubleTree was much better). Happy Hour was the most efficient that I have ever seen. They quickly served patrons in a double roped off line. The snacks were good only on one night where they had cut up veggies(cucumbers, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots), pita, a salad and hummus. The other days were ruffles and three kinds of dips.(Best Happy Hour Menu at an Embassy Suites-Portland, OR). The best part about the stay was the people, though. Thanks to Dinah for checking us in after we got bumped to the DoubleTree as we tried to check in at 1 AM after a long flight. She was so friendly and cheerful. The porters, William and Dwayne, greeted us every morning, afternoon and evening. Thanks for making us feel welcome. There is also an indoor pool that was packed every time we walked by.

Yelp
Location- this place is perfect! It is where you want to be in downtown Chicago. Walking distance to the Navy Pier, restaurants, and our room had a beautiful view of the river and buildings. Breakfast and night drinks- Food was good, omelets were yummy and the service was great. They offer 2 free drinks at night and they were also good. Rooms- this is where I had a big problem. Rooms are outdated but mostly they are DIRTY! Carpet is gross, sticky, the rooms had a weird smell, everything was very dirty.
