We stayed at the Embassy Suites for four nights with our two daughters (ages 9 and 2), and overall, we had a really nice experience. One of the highlights for us was the beach access — it was perfect for our little ones. The water is shallow and protected by a stone wall, so there were no big waves, making it super safe and fun for the kids to play. The hotel also has a few pools (all around 3.5 feet deep), which again are great for children, though adults who enjoy deeper swimming might find them a bit shallow. Still, they were clean and enjoyable. We really appreciated the daily happy hour and the complimentary breakfast — those perks definitely added to our stay. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and easy, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The location in Dorado is much calmer compared to San Juan, which we actually preferred with young kids. The property itself is gated, which made us feel secure. Within the same property, there’s a casino, go-karts, and a kids’ playground — nice extras that helped keep everyone entertained. Overall, it was a very family-friendly stay, and we’d definitely consider coming back.

At check-in, the first staff member refused to assist us. Thankfully, another employee eventually helped, and we did receive apologies. However, despite the stated 4:00 PM check-in time, our rooms were still not ready by 5:00 PM. One of the rooms was unclean, with hair in the bathroom, and one of the toilets was clogged upon arrival. In addition, the rug in our room was damaged, adding to the poor impression of overall upkeep. These issues were reported to management. While apologies were given, no meaningful follow-up or corrective action was taken. The pool area was in unacceptable condition—dirty, with trash floating in the water, and very few available chairs. Guests were required to pay $10 per chair, not including umbrellas, both at the pool and at the beach. While the beach is public, the few complimentary chairs made it feel as though guests had no real choice but to pay. Even worse, some of the chairs we paid for were damaged and had holes. On a positive note, breakfast was great, with good food quality and variety. However, there was very limited seating available, which made it difficult for our large group to enjoy the experience comfortably. In summary, the stay was filled with issues that detracted from what should have been a high-quality family vacation. Between the poor cleanliness, maintenance problems, hidden fees, and lack of seating or hospitality in key areas, this experience does not meet the standard expected from a Hilton-branded resort.

The hotel was relatively clean and although it was a bit dated and had some age issues, It was actually really clean and comfortable, it's like from the early 2000s. It felt so comfortable and relaxing and had that antique vibe which was awesome. The pool is really nice as well. Complementary drinks were great with the small dinner. Lots of choices and really great drinks. Also loved the casino, I actually won and most of the dealers were really great and talkative. Overall, a great place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Embassy Suites Dorado. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome right away. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable ... great for relaxing after a long day. Breakfast was decent, though limited in variety, but the made-to-order omelette station was a nice touch. We also enjoyed the evening reception, especially the live music on Friday and Saturday ... it added a fun and lively vibe to the stay. The pool area was beautiful, and the on-site parking was very convenient. The location also made it easy to get to other parts of the island and nearby restaurants. We'd definitely come back!

I have stayed in many resorts to include the Hilton brand for business and pleasure. This time it was for pleasure with the family. I can honestly say this was perfect. The hospitality, the service and the views were spectacular. The kids loved their room and watching the ocean was a plus. The staff was so gracious and welcoming from the check in process to checking out. I will definitely recommend the Embassy Suites for anyone looking for a family vacation. There is also so much for the kids to do on site, like a pool hall, go karts, bowling alley and if you want to hit some golf balls you can do that as well. Also even the guests who were staying here were so nice, from the locals to those vacationing. We appreciate the services provided by all, thank you!

Need bathroom updates, and furniture cushions were dirty, nice large bedroom area with a living room area which was appreciated. Good entertainment across from the hotel with casino and game room/go carts building a couple of restaurants. The pools were gorgeous with a gate to the beach area in an inlet. Nice bar in the pool area, the inside lobby was terrific with a stream that encircled the seating area filled with koy fish. Loved the breakfast mornings complete with an omelet maker with any ingredients you like.

Went for a Resort Pass and it was extremely disappointing. Pool was so dirty and full of dozen and dozen of kids from what seemed to be a summer camp, which feels like a private event and have been disclosed as there was absolutely no room to get in the pool and there was no room to sit… being forced to go to the beach, the little chairs that were free were in awful conditions, forcing you to rent out beach chairs. Lastly, the whole resort needs HEAVY maintenance, doesn’t look like it’s being properly taken care of.

The rooms need updating and our furniture was stained. When I complained about it, they did bring us a new couch. Also, 1 day they did not clean our room. I had to go to the front desk and ask for clean towels so we could take a shower. Again they responded quickly and brought clean towels to the room. The good part was the beautiful pool area with direct access to the beach, the reception with a free drink every evening and the restaurant food was good.

Yelp
If I could give this property a negative 5 stars, I would. I've stayed at many Embassy Suites and Hilton properties over the years and this is not the standard that I'm used to for this hotel chain/brand. The absolute worst experience, never stayed at a Motel 6 but l imagine it's gotta be better than this property. From the moment you walk in the lobby the overall stench of mold and mildew is prevalent. Once we got to our room, I was utterly disgusted. The room smelled just as moldy as the lobby. The furniture was dated and the carpet looked a dirty mess. The bathroom had visible rust on the lighting fixtures and there was mold spots above the shower. The lamps shades in the bedroom were ripped and rusty. There was also either dirt or mold on the curtains leading to the balcony. Our "oceanfront" view was partially blocked by building below our room. The microwave had rust spots inside. I requested to have a new microwave and they did change that out. The closet reeked of mold as well, thus I couldn't hang clothes in there. Breakfast during our stay was the same everyday, no variety. Watered down orange juice to boot. On top of all of this, our room was only cleaned ONE time during our 4 night stay. I had to request towels everyday. The pool was the only thing decent at this property. Everything else needs a complete overhaul. When I requested to change rooms, the front desk claimed there were no other rooms available. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay at this property.

Yelp
This place should NOT be called a resort. I was here 8 yrs ago and it was pretty nice, came back and it was horrible! The only nice thing it has is the lobby, and the maids do a good job cleaning besides that... don't waste your money. The beach area looks like it's abandon, chairs are broken. Dirty, never have towels. The restaurant is disgusting, worst food. Carpets in the rooms smell of urine. This place has gone down hill and should not be called a resort bc there are no resort amenities.

Yelp
Soooo I wish I would have read the reviews before coming here. I'm a Hilton Honors Diamond Member and have a lot of stats at Embassy Suites, but this place was a huge disappointment. I booked 3 rooms at this location for me and family. The staff is awesome, courteous, smiling, and always helpful. The pool area & view is awesome. But....the rooms are disgusting and the lack of maintenance is evident everywhere at this hotel (far from a resort). The rooms reeked of mold, there were ants Al over the place, all the A/C units had problems in the rooms. We had the front desk send someone twice and still was not fixed. It's as if no one cares about the condition of this place. It's such a shame because it doesn't reflect the staff at all. Ownership here must be extremely cheap and doesn't want to spend the much needed revenue to maintain this place. I would not recommend at all.

Kaoru M.

Yelp
This property definitely was very nice at one point. It's located inside a large gated golf community. They have a beautiful indoor koi pond that winds through the lobby. The outdoor pool is large. The beach, while small, is full of local wildlife like hermit crabs and ghost crabs. Unfortunately, the building is in extremely poor shape. Parts of the glass roof over the lobby are missing and covered with what looks to be plywood. There are actively leaking ceilings all over the hotel, including in the lobby and in the hallway outside our room. It would not be an exaggeration to say that this building may only be one more tropical storm away from being condemned. The casino next door was undergoing renovation when we stayed here in Nov 2023, so maybe this hotel is up next for renovations. If that's the case, I'd give them another try. Without renovations however, I would look elsewhere for our next trip to Puerto Rico.

Yelp
First Mother's Day EVER and I was taken to a a hotel‍ The room is pretty spacious, but I'm so annoyed that the lock for the balcony does not work. The bathroom is decent sized as well. So we were given a welcome drink ticket that was until 7pm. We arrived at 7:08pm and were denied the drinks and were not given a new voucher for the next day. I love that you have two other restaurants just walking distance right in-font of the hotel. I'm sorry but these beds are the worst beds I've ever slept in. They are not soft and are small. The sofa bed is terrible, super thin and you can feel the springs when you lie down. breakfast was OK, I've had better in other hotels tho. The omelettes by Jorge were really good and quick so we did not wait too much. The Mother's Day Lunch was a disaster; 0 organization. It was supposed to be slots of 1hr per group and since there was no organization at all we waited almost an hour for our groups turn beca people of the previous group wouldn't leave. Aside of that, the person scanning our tickets would let other people who did not make the LONG line in so we kept waiting and waiting. The food was good, but desserts were really bad. The chocolate cake was dry as bone and churros hard and gummy. Overall it was a great weekend with the family, but wouldn't definitely stay again for a big weekend like Mother's Day.

Yelp
My experience at this Embassy Suites was far from what a Hilton should be. I'm a Hilton Diamond member, and this is the first time I'm leaving a bad review on a Hilton property. My room is dated and it was not cleaned properly; there was glitter on the carpet, sofa, and chairs. The sofa bed was dangerously broken, and even though it was reported three times, no one came to at least try to fix it. In addition, there was a senior prom on the property, and the kids were out of control, running and yelling on the different floor halls until late at night. This was reported too, but apparently security could not handle the amount of people. I requested to speak with a manager, but none was available. This property is crying out for a major remodeling.

Yelp
Major face lift needed Cleanliness. Smells like mold. HVAC vent in room which I removed and cleaned had black mold all around it. The ducts had dirt and mold in and around as well. The fan was rattling loudly the entire time. The bedroom and living room were different temps due to problems with fans. Finally the AC was set on 64 and only got down to 70. The fridge was very frosted over The bed was fine. And I slept well The bedding and linens were clean The carpet was newer. The facility needs a better HVAC system with dehumidifier to pull moisture out of air. Everything was rusted. Dining room chairs were stained. I would NOT use fabric at a hotel. This hotel was been repainted many times. Appeared to have 12 layers of paint. Speakers in the bar area were cutting out and bartender had to keep tapping on them. Bar drinks were either diluted or non existent and expensive. Disappointed in the experience. Toilet drained slowly if at all. Maintenance had to come twice in 4 days to get it flowing. Appreciate the bottled waters in the room. Pool area was nice. Beach was fine enough. Parking is in a garage and you have to walk a distance to the hotel. They do have paid valet. Staff was friendly and helpful. They spoke English well. The setting around the hotel was nice and safe.

Erica C.

Yelp
This place is beautiful. I felt safe here. There are two sets of elevators and both worked majority of the time. We used valet for our vehicle. We had an amazing view with a balcony. Our first night the AC went out. It was extremely uncomfortable. We made sure to close and lock the balcony like the sign said but that didn't work. Apparently there's a trick where you must also completely close the restroom door as well for the AC to work. Who knew? Guy came into reset the AC. They have an evening reception that can get pretty crowded. One night they had popcorn and another some chips and dips, nothing too fancy. There was a line to get the free drinks each night. Only one bartender was serving. Pool is huge. It rained off and on while we visited so sitting under the shaded bar and grill was good. Food was OK. Ate at restaurant a few times. It was also OK. Beach area is small but pretty. There are benches you can sit at and take in the view. Puppy friendly for sure! Gift shop seemed to be closed most of the time I walked by but I was able to find one time to go take a peek. Nothing too special. The check in staff when we arrived did a great job. We decided to extend our stay because we liked the area so we had to get our key cards updated to access the room. I'm not sure why it seriously took four different people four different times to get this right. The last young woman got an attitude about it too. She should've walked over with us offering to ensure it worked. As Diamond members this part was extremely disappointing. When we left super early in the morning I called down to have our car ready for us. Valet guys brought the wrong car. So we ended up having to wait for them to get the correct one. All other experiences were good though. IG: dulce_minigd

Yelp
As an Executive Director of Hospitality in The States, I was somewhat disappointed. To begin the hotel presentation was great,, but please don't call this place a resort,,far from it!!Yes is beautiful from the entrance until you get passed the elevators into your room,,once you entered your room from the 1980's furniture to the salt infected walls and corrosion to the no pressure in the shower,,,,need I say more?,,,Now for the NO common sense part!!, front desk had a guess waiting on the side, guess was made to wait after 10 people where been checked in,,,,no matter what guess take priority, but not this young lady,, she decides to totally ignore the guess to attend check ins,,,,!!Wow!!!!!When confronted, her response was Sorry I'm only one person!!!!another WOW!!!!Where's your Manager??????When searching for the Manager none to be found but wait I found her on Linked in,,,Aaaaghhhh!!!forget about it I'm done,, Good luck for those who like to be treated special. Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Yelp
I stayed at embassy suite by Hilton in Hawaii and loved it give it a 5/5 so i figured this place has the same concept and would be the same but nope, a little disappointed this place is like an ugly car with really nice rims. When you walk into this place it's amazing you're hit with a large coy pond with seating area making this place look like a 5 start place but when you look up you see the ceiling boarded up covering the light which will make a huge difference (see photo) the elevator has a mind of its own sometimes the buttons work sometimes it doesn't you need to press it like 10x. When you walk into the room it looks like they found random furnitures from other hotels and threw it in there, the futon was terrible squeaky and broken the first night I had to call front desk the engineers had to screw the bed in place. We called the front desk and housekeeping a few times and they would never answer. When checking in they never really tell you what time things are I had to pretty much figure it out what time the pool opened t breakfast the bar etc the free breakfast is mediocre it was the same food every day. The jacuzzi dint work it was just a pool with hot water. Don't get me wrong theirs a little good to this place the front coy pond area is a nice spot you relax and enjoy a drink the pool is a 5/5 stars the beach is easily accessible and feet's away from the pool theirs a few large iguanas that hangs out in the pool area overall I probably will not be back because even though we go out we still hang out in the room and watch movies and relax and the rooms just ruins it for us! Theirs too many inconsistencies to consider coming back.

Anne L.

Yelp
Avoid this hotel. The rooms feel like the place was once a jail and got converted to a hotel. Beds are not comfortable. Rooms are dated and dingy. Bathrooms are grimy and gross. Parking gates do not work. Front desk staff is not friendly or helpful. Also, impossible to call the hotel and get the front desk on the line. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because it is close to the beach, I also didn't try the bar or restaurant because neither was ever open when I wanted to go. So maybe the food and beverages are redeeming.

Jill C.

Yelp
Staying for a few days end January 2024. We were greeted by wonderful front desk staff, ate at the onsite restaurant (typical prices/reasonable) with a nice waitress who accommodated a couple of special requests, nice pools and bar (not swim up). The beach is not the white sandy beach like other locations but we will explore other local beaches a short way down the road. The room is clean and bathroom nice (no rust/issues). Balcony nice/clean with two new chairs. Called housekeeping for two additional pillows/blankets, they came to our room so fast that I barely hung up the phone and they were knocking. Glass elevators in the hotel atrium very nice. Lobby is lovely with koi pond winding through it. Live music Friday/Saturday 6-9p, free hot breakfast daily and daily complimentary cocktail hours from 5-7pm. For the price we paid per night which was reasonable for a resort, I am happy with my visit. (Family of 4... 2 adults, 2 teens) (by the way, this building is NOT one storm from being condemned, nor do the rooms look like jail cells (see my photos for proof). It's ridiculous to even say that. Those people must be bitter about the holiday rate they likely paid per night. We have no leaks in our room or hallway. I'm happy to be spending quality time with my family in a tropical resort. I'm not looking to get attention by showing how outrageous my Yelp review can be.)

Tema L.

Yelp
Think Almond As in the last time this place was updated was when almond was the Pantone color of the year It was literally raining in the Atrium When we checked in our room had no night table lamps It's a sad sad place The staff works very hard to make it pleasant but it's like a movie with a bad script Even the best actor can only do so much

Anthony G.

Yelp
Came here for relaxation and thats exactly what we got. Not a partly life environment so I was ok with that. PLEASE rent a car as this shared resort is too far inland. Ubers will drop you off but wont pick you up. Lots of walking for sure. Theres lots to explore in this region so take advantage and enjoy it.

Diane J.

Yelp
The Hotel is very dated. The rooms need to be redone. Couch was torn, table and chairs were dated and beaten up. The bathroom fixtures were rusty. The breakfast was the best part. The outdoor area was in need of updating.

Casey R.

Yelp
This place is a joke. Rooms are disgusting. Filthy. Then they had the nerve to charge us a cleaning fee after we left. Plus a pet cleaning fee. We didn't even have a pet there. Manager refuses to tell us what was dirty. I would avoid. They're making money off fake fees after you leave.

Christi C.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would except staff very friendly and courteous for the most part. No beach towels at pool or beach. No chairs available for beach despite resort fee. Staff apologetic but no answers just kept apologizing. Room smelled of mildew and was dirty but front desk couldn't get us a switch. Food at restaurant by pool terrible. Ordered nachos supreme and got stale chips with cold velveeta and sour cream on side. Happy hour at night entertainment was good but one staff working bar so two free drinks meant stand in line for almost two hours to get a very limited selection of cheap beer or wine and the need to get both drinks at once or lose out. Worst thing- sofa bed collapsed on my elderly relative as she tried to close it early on our first morning. Called front desk. Security came running and told us "don't worry you won't be charged this happens all the time we are in the process of replacing these because they break all the time you wouldn't believe how often. we will change your room" I said no we are leaving immediately as this has been the worst experience. Few minutes later his supervisor arrived and clearly didn't realize we were leaving nor that we understood Spanish as he made several negative and derogatory comments, told his "subordinate" to pick up the splintered wood from floor, literally kicked the sofa bed back together in front of us and drilled a few screws into the legs then told us to "make sure to call desk before we open or close it for remainder of stay and it should be fine" Service staff very friendly but security supervisor rude and abrasive. Front desk staff assured me when I checked out that hotel manager would be in touch as soon as he returned to hotel that day and would comp the stay for all the inconvenience. Never happened. I have been emailing and calling and nothing. Only the security supervisor is taking my calls and now they are having me fill out incident reports when while I was there I asked about all of that and was told they had all the information they needed. They are giving me a run around and never refunded anything. Hotel manager never called at all. I cannot believe they would allow someone back into the room or let anyone near the sofa bed - the legs literally collapsed under my 70 year old relative and she is not a large person. This is a family hotel. I cannot imagine a child climbing on this and falling -dangerous. STAY AWAY!!!! Service staff friendly and courteous as always in PR - but those making the money clearly don't care about people.

Jess L.

Yelp
I flew in to celebrate my birthday. The room was very spacious and during covid they were very by the rules in making sure everyone stayed safe and protected. The staff was all soo sweet and just the people there in general was nice. The food was really yummy as well. Omg the burger and the steaks are a must when staying here and ordering room service or just chilling by the pool. Not my first time in Puerto Rico but it's always a blessing coming to visit. Thank you for an enjoyable birthday

Irene Q.

Yelp
This hotel is so nice. My favorite spot was the Tiki Bar by the Pool. Make sure you ask for Miguel and/or Estefania. They are so sweet! And they will make you the BEST Pina coladas and Mojitos!! They are the best!!!

Alesia M.

Yelp
Disappointing stay. I've stayed here many times before covid but things have changed. The hotel is dirty furniture is damaged mold smell mold growing on air vents. Rugs were stained bathrooms not clean and moldy. Beds uncomfortable bedding and towels old and dingy. Better accommodations at motel 6. Front desk rude and disrespectful. Maid service charged daily even though they don't clean daily. Bellman tips everyday even though none were working most days. Told group allowed two free parking spots front desk said nope. Members of group asked to speak with manager she refused asked for her business card she refused to give it. Just overall bad experience. Food mediocre at best.

Jackie H.

Yelp
I wish could give this place no stars. Please do not spend your money on this place. You will be disappointed. This place is dirty, extremely outdated and the air conditioner did not work. The room was extremely humid and bedding felt wet. It is not worth it. I booked for 3 night and canceled 2 nights and went elsewhere with my family. I could not sleep the one night I stayed.

Anthony H.

Yelp
On a recent vacation to Puerto Rico, we stayed here because it was next to the beach and honestly because they had free breakfast. What can I say, I don't want to spend over a hundred dollars a day on breakfast for a family of four. The Embassy Suites has definitely been renovated and it isn't the cleanest hotel or resort that we've been to but we figured that we're only spending the night there and then going out all day to do our activities. As far as the decor, it is your typical Embassy Suites but again, you can see many dirty areas that need attention or just haven't received any attention at all. The pool is of decent quality and design with lots of space and the beach access is a couple of minutes of within walking range but the beach is small because there are neighboring condos on each side of the resort so don't expect to go on long walks. While staying at Embassy, we didn't have any wifi service at all during our entire week stay and I wasn't able to do any work. I had to travel outside of the resort to a local Starbucks to do work which was very inconvenient and annoying but the hotel did their best to makeup for the inconvenience. The breakfast was free full service and nice but their dinner was horrible when compared to real Puerto Rican restaurants on the island. The hotel staff was pleasant and friendly for the most part and the room was cleaned very well each time we came back to the room each night. I've read other reviews on the price but we did well by booking in advance and picking a great package plan with our airline flight. I personally would not pay more than $180 a night because of everything I know now but we would stay again for the right price and our other options were not available.

Scott J.

Yelp
Despite a number of 2 and 3 ratings (most mentioning the need to update the rooms), we decided to stay here over our Christmas holiday. We are happy that we did. Similar to other reviews, we agree that the hotel needs updating. However, from the moment we stepped onto the property until the time we left we had a wonderful experience from the staff member that checked us in to the restaurant servers, to the house keeping staff, to the bartenders at the pool and especially Luis, our bartender in the evening at the Calypso bar. The rooms are in definite need of updating. The treadmills were not working in the temporary work out room. Even lights on the elevators were messed up. Some of the pool chairs need repair and they need to make sure they have enough towels at the pool for the morning rush. However, none of this took away from the wonderful time we had in Dorado. The hotel is a short cab ride from some great restaurants. We did not rent a car as we did not plan to do a lot of sight seeing on this trip. We did arrange for a walking tour of Old San Juan. Transportation was included from the hotel. They did have their morning breakfast which is typical Embassy Suites breakfast including made to order omelets. Although they did not have the evening manager's reception, they did provide drink tickets which we could use at the pool bar and hotel bar. The pool was great. The staff at the pool bar was super friendly and provided very good service. Although the menu at the pool was limited, the food came quickly and was very good. Luis, our evening bartender in the Calypso bar was outstanding. Even when he was super busy, he took great care of us and knew what we wanted to drink after only one night We will definitely be back.

Yelp
This is my second time staying at this resort. Both times we've come here, it's to visit family that lives nearby... with whom we don't want to stay in their non-air-conditioned home. The first time we stayed at this Dorado Hilton hotel was four years ago, when my child was just under a year old. I remember (4 years ago) being very frustrated with the fact that their 1st floor bar opens up to the atrium and that every room faces the open atrium, so no matter what room you're in, the noise from the bar floats up the atrium and pervades your room. Considering that the guests here partied until 1am on the weekends, and I was an already sleep-deprived new mother, I was not happy about the level of noise. The only saving grace was that since the rooms are "suites," the door from the atrium hallway opens up to your room's living room, and past the living room and bathroom there is a door to the bedroom which (when closed) helps to muffle the sounds emanating from the atrium. Other than the noise level at night, I really enjoyed my stay here. The breakfast buffet each morning was decent (choices include eggs, sausage, pancakes or French toast, fruit, cereal, and pastries), and every evening from 5:30-7:30pm they had a reception during which they provided snacks (usually carrot sticks and chips) and beverages. The staff was exceedingly nice, and I loved that the hotel has a private beach just past the pool area. Now that my child is 5 years old and a heavy sleeper, we're back and I've brought with us a white noise machine for masking some of the hotel's noise. The noise rising up through the atrium is still noticeable, but now it isn't preventing me from sleeping. The staff are still superb, the beach, pool, and the breakfast and evening reception are the same... my reason for giving 3 stars is that the property is much more run-down than I expected in 4 years. When I checked in, the front door to my livingroom didn't close properly without using a little "elbow grease," the closet safe didn't work, the handle for the bedroom's porch door was broken, and the tile in the bathroom was stained brown everywhere. I endured it for a couple of days until housekeeping left the room without securing the entrance door and I realized my room had been unlocked while we were out for 6 hours. At that point, I called the front desk and they relocated me to another room since the repairs would take a while. The new room has a great view of the ocean. I checked the bedroom's porch door, the living room front door, and the safe immediately for functionality, and all were fine, so I moved into the new room. Once in the room, as I started to put the groceries in the mini-fridge, I discovered it was lacking a freezer and the shelves on the fridge door were also broken. Then, when I decided to give my son a bath, I found out that the bathtub didn't drain properly. Finally, after getting my son to bed, as I went to close the door between the bedroom and the living room, I found out that this door would not close. It was hanging crookedly on the hinges. Again, the front desk staff was exceedingly helpful in getting the maintenance team to my room for repairs on the door & bathtub drain... however, the hotel itself gets 3 stars due to multiple issues with each room.

Yelp
Old, tried, and dirty are the best descriptors I can muster to describe this Embassy Suites. The hotel is a typical Embassy Suites - A square with rooms about. The front desk staff, and all the staff are friendly and accommodating. My first impression was ok. But that's where the good stuff ended. I walked to the elevator and found that the call buttons are worn. You really can't tell if you've pushed a button because all the lights on the elevator work intermittently. When I got to the room I was surprised at how sparse the room was. There were no lamps in the living room part of the suite. The bathroom was very dated - rust was in spots. The shower was just awful. The bedroom was better, but the mattress was worn and old. The best part of the room was the view. TVs are small, decor is limited, and carpets and paint are worn. This hotel is long over due for a makeover. The resort amenities were okay. The swimming pools were pretty and of course the weather made everything outside better. The breakfast is among the worst I've had at an Embassy Suites. Even the omelettes and fried eggs were poor. And the nightly reception - they offered a bag of potatoes chips and gross popcorn, plus a drink of your choice. I want to say the one redeeming thing about this hotel is the staff. I didn't meet one person who wasn't working diligently, they were kind and engaged. Hats off to the team because good people work here. But the hotel is old, worn, and many things are just plain out dirty. The two stars are for the staff. This is definitely not Hilton quality and it is not worth the rates charged. If updated, this would be an awesome spot!

Yelp
This hotel has the potential to be great but it's not. The grounds/room need updating. Upon checking the staff member could've explained how the breakfast worked and anything related to the hotel stay. The pool bar could be the spot but it wasn't no music/vibes the pina colada was a virgin slushy even though I asked for alcohol, the food ok. I'll take a beach any day but the bathing part is not that big given a rock in the middle that people snorkel in and the beach chairs could've been cleaner. For an amazing view go towards the left side of the beach. The hotel is at the very end of a gated community, you can walk to the nearby restaurants but you'll be walking a while if you don't have a car. I booked this hotel in pinch not worth the money I paid. It's about 40 min from San Juan.

Yelp
In all of my years of vacationing this may have been the worst hotel experience ever. The hotel flooded so bad they shut down an elevator. Water was running down the ceiling beams leaving puddles in the main lobby. Mildew was all over the air vents on the 7th floor. The pull out bed broke the first night just pulling it out. The safe was broken. The jacuzzi was dirty, discolored and never hot for the 7 days I stayed. If you don't rent a car do not stay here. Everything closes early and you need a car for all basic needs. I spent over a thousand dollars in cabs to get around. The beach also is not attractive at all.

Yelp
The hotel is pretty good for the price range. Wasn't cheap, but cheaper than some other areas during this time of year. The biggest positives are the staff. So far I have yet to encounter any bad staff members. They are all friendly and willing to help you out. There was a couple of times where it took a few attempts to get what we wanted from housekeeping (set up sofa bed for kids, extra blankets and towels) but they were always quick and friendly and fixed the issue. Another positive is the included breakfast in the morning. I'm a bit of a coffee snob and the coffee is great. They have an omelette bar which I recommend over the premade scrambled eggs, tons of fruit meats, yogurt , bagels , toast, hot cereal etc. we look forward to breakfast in am. The pool area is nice (a little outdated ) And beach area is small but also nice. The inside atrium is cool and there are glass elevators which kids love Some Negatives ; Overall the whole place is outdated, and could use a facelift. Our room wasn't terrible , (very big) but definitely could use an overall deeper cleaning (dust in vents cobwebs etc) the main restaurant area and bar are pretty modernish and not too bad. We were in second floor and the view is horrible. There is a roof overhang in our way and beyond that just a view of building across the street and driveway Parking is annoying . It's either $20 a day for valet Or like 14 for self park. And it's a bit too long of a walk away. Then there is "resort fee" and being there are few amenities aside form towels offered at the pool and small gym not sure why this is charged. Should at least include self park. The pool bar is cool but there is no poolside service which I'd expect from a resort, and outdoor bar was closed before 9pm. All in all not a bad experience, but for price and "resort fees" should offer more Would return and maybe opt for room with poolside or ocean view.

Yelp
Have been wanting to stay in this hotel for years now. Finally received the chance thanks to Gustazos. The pool unfortunately was massively overcrowded. No wonder Dorado is 8th in the list of highest COVID cases in Puerto Rico. One of the bartenders was super rude. I asked for a cup of ice and he mentioned how he technically isn't supposed to and is supposed to charge...for ice??? That was really unprofessional of him to comment. A cup of water and ice is FREE wherever you go. Puh-leeze Bruh! Anyway, the staff were friendly. No complaints there. The stores around the hotel are massive which is great. Everything merely minutes away which is super awesome and convenient. The room was nice as it was a suite. The air conditioner is not the best. It was at 55 and it's still not too cold in the room. We have a view of the room and the villas. Nothing crazy but the balcony is nice nonetheless. Good stay but there were a few inconsistencies. For example: prior to the stay we had called the hotel and asked if we were able to do an early check in. We were told that anytime after 1pm was possible. We called a 2nd time on the day of to verify and were told absolutely not, not until 3pm. We got there after 1pm and the older man attended to me. I asked if it was okay to check in early. As he was checking for my name he was on the verge of saying "the room is not...oh well it is! It's ready!" It seems that all staff members are on different planets as they all give you confusing and varying information when being asked things. Over the phone we asked about laundry and was told it was good to go and absolutely possible. When we got here, we were given the run around. One staff member would say "go here" then when we'd go there, a staff member would say "go there" and finally at the end it turns out that the laundry is not open and under construction. The following day we asked about laundry again as we were told that it would open and the staff member said it was open. They verified with another staff member and the other staff member said it was not open. So yeah, not sure if the manager here is managing very well as all staff members are absolutely confused on their information.

Yelp
For $300 a night id say this place isn't worth it. The rooms are very outdated and beat up. A Best western in the states is still better than this place. If you're not looking for luxury then this might work for you. It does have private beach access which is nice. The grass area is nice for a stroll and great views from the balcony.

Kim R.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! free breakfast it was so delicious the maizena!! The potatoes then this spectacular pool bar and so close to the beach!!!! I love this spot this whole is a bit secluded but worth it and not to mention the views !!!

Yelp
I stayed here after comparing hotel prices in San Juan. I wouldn't recommend it. There's not many good dining options around and it's about a 35 minute drive to San Juan. What I didn't know, was they tack on an additional $39 resort fee. Ha! That doesn't cover much. I didn't feel like I was in a resort. I felt like a was in a just ok embassy suites. If you are interested in the once existent casino, it is no longer operating. FOOD: I had breakfast here one day from the included breakfast buffet. It was decent but not good. The salad I had at lunch with Mahi sounded great but was barely edible. The piña coladas served at the poolside bar were good. Service was very slow. ROOM: The room smelled like chlorine and the carpets seemed damp. I wore flip flops the entire time. I had a decent view of the ocean from my 7th floor room, but didn't spend much time on my balcony. Not all rooms have a view. POOL: The pool area (including a kiddy pool) is nice and you do get beach access straight from the pool, which I did like. You can borrow a towel for the pool or beach. They have one hammock. More would be nice. PARKING: You can valet for $18/night or park at the unattached parking structure for $11/night. If you do self parking, make sure you have an umbrella.

Yelp
Me & my friend traveled to Puerto Rico this past week & stayed in Dorado at the Embassy Suites. The room we had overall was ok, but it wasn't what I expected from the Embassy. We had to constantly kill gnats, mosquitos & we found ants and other small insects crawling on our coffee stand in the room. Housekeeping came in twice to spray. The sink took a long time to drain water. The iron board was on it's last run and eventually one of the legs broke off. Overall the hotel is nice. Staff is friendly and helpful. Prices for food at the hotel were a little over priced along with the drinks, but that is what is expected at resorts. I think we just got a crappy room.

Yelp
I redeemed a lot of Hilton HHonors points to get two nights of "oceanview unobstructed" and I was quite pleased with the room. Up on the 7th floor, my suite (same layout as every other Embassy Suite where I've ever stayed) had a super balcony with a great view of the ocean and the pool area. Quiet and with no noise from the atrium or the neighbors, I can not complain about the room at all. Where the hotel let me down was... - The "welcome gift" that I had ordered to the room on the Internet was not there when we arrived at the requested time. It was another hour. - Breakfast was awful. If you want to wait in line for the cooked-to-order omelet, great. Otherwise, scrambled "eggs", bacon, sausage and fried potatoes. I would say that I've had better at most hotels. - Room service was slow. It took over an hour to get two sandwiches, which arrived barely warm. - We went out for two hours from 11:00 AM to past 1:00 PM, but when we returned out room had not been cleaned. We decided it just wasn't worth it and went without. - The fridge was very cold. In the morning, my bottle of water was an ice block. Parking is available on site, either self-park in the large parking deck or the valet will do it for you for about 50% more money. As a Hilton "Gold", my Internet was free. But my complaints might not be your complaints. If you just want a nice room with a nice beach, you might find this to be a five star property.

Yelp
Reviews online were sketchy but I had some points to use and it was beach front away from San Juan so I decided to book it. We opted for the ocean front suite on the 7th floor, about $30 more per night but SO worth it. The room was clean and the view was beautiful. We loved sitting in the balcony at night and hearing the ocean roll in. Location was far enough away from the hustle bustle of San Juan yet really accessible to lots of shops and small restaurants even if you don't have a car. Walgreens will be your friend as they sell alcohol, food, swim gear, etc and it's right across from the entrance. Tons of great restaurants around the area too. Beach is gorgeous, plenty of lounge chairs. They do kayak and paddle boat rentals onsite. They have a kid friendly eatery and also a hibachi/sushi restaurant called The Orient that is amazing for a nice dinner without having to go off premises. Pool is great and kid and adult friendly. Hot tub is nice, not too hot although you didn't have access to put the jets on full blast. Free breakfast every morning was great, I am Vegan and my Fiancé is a meat eater and both of us found great options. The free drinks and snacks at night is super helpful to keep your bar bill down and there are a ton of liquors, beer, and wine to choose from. Make sure you bring some cash to tip the bartenders and valet staff...all deserved it and it was well worth it. Only thing I wished they had done was serve the free drinks at the outside bar as we wanted to stay by the pool. Also would have been nice is the other 2 snack type restaurants had more choices like veggies and humus or ceviche...everything was fried or bar food oriented. We were there without kids and there were families with kids and all was good for both types of visitors. Also they had a concierge desk but it was empty, it would have been nice to have been given suggestions on what to do and where to do it. We missed out on snorkeling because we didn't know where to go. We rented a jeep and toured a bunch of the island and this location was great for that. We definitely will be back.

Yelp
Wonderful stay! I read some of the reviews here before booking this hotel and I would say some of them are just negative or inaccurate. I stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights and it was wonderful!! The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The free breakfast and evening reception are great. The lobby and main floor area has beautiful greenery. The pool area is beautiful and clean. The private beach area is perfect - the water is calm. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday and they decorated the room with signs and balloons and even gave her a cake. I was so pleased with our stay here. I would highly recommend it. It was our first trip to Puerto Rico and I will definitely come back and stay at this resort!

Yelp
This hotel is amazing! My family and I had a wonderful time, the staff is super nice and friendly! I will def come back again !!! Shout out to the towel guys, the girl at the small coffee shop, front desk (Israel) and the luggage guy ( Justin). You guy are the best

Yelp
So After paying around $1700 for flight and hotel stay. When I get to Embassy Suites they charge me another $350 for gratuity, taxes, and fees. They only clean your room once every three days. I had to ask twice for new towels after my third day and they still hadn't cleaned my room which is crazy after the the $350 in gratuity taxes and fees. To top my vacation off I was without hot water for my last two days. Cold showers are the worst. I'm giving them two stars because the staff were pleasant and the food was delicious.

Sabina K.

Yelp
Coqui sounds at night (tiny frog indigenous to Puerto Rico) and friendly staff from Jayuya are the best thing this hotel has going for it. It's outdated, rooms smell stale, carpet is dirty and dusty, and please don't get me started on the bathroom. There's one restaurant across the street and one inside the hotel, for more variety you must drive because the resort is far away from everything. Like all embassy suites, breakfast is included in the price. They had a decent range of food options (including the standard omelette station), and coffee was a true Puerto Rico blend and tasted amazing. I didn't have to bother going to coffee shop even though there's one inside the resort. Valet parking is $20/day, which I did because I didn't feel safe walking to parking lot on my own at 5 in the morning. For people vacationing here: most will hang by the pool because the resort opens into public beach that is not kept up. Sadly, I may stay here again because there aren't better options in this area. Coqui coqui coqui...

Yelp
I give this place props for being no more or less than what it advertises: a low budget no frills well placed location to vegetate and zone out in a quiet, peaceful, out of the way area of Puerto Rico. Work around the property's limitations and you can have a lovely time, as I did. The staff were at all times lovely, pleasant, eager, and as helpful as possible under the circumstances. Sure it could use some upgrades - in general it's a little down at the heels, chipped walls in the rooms, bathrooms facilities a little crumbly. The main atrium is a dark, grim, sepulchrous tower massively with frigid temperatures, and on weekend nights rattling with the blastings of a local chanteuse. The daily unchanged breakfast can be navigated to not result in morbid obesity. For dinner, go out and explore the neighborhood's much better offerings - both to support the local, superior eateries and because the hotel's food is subpar. But the property was at all times nicely maintained and any regular cleaning I requested was immediately addressed. The property shares a charming local small public beach with its many neighboring properties, which during the week is lovely and tranquil, although the swimming bay is at no point deeper than a foot, which makes actual swimming a challenge. On the weekends it's packed and deafening. If you're interested in exploring the island's many offerings, which I highly recommend, a rental car is a must. Uber is much available, but not cheap and wait times can shift from 10 to 40 minutes indiscriminately. For what they're charging, and with some workarounds (i.e. avoid the grim "receptions" in the lobby and create your own happy hour on your terrace), this can be a perfectly lovely, affordable and convenient experience.

Yelp
I traveled with my 3 kids (15, 13, 10) for Mother's day weekend, which also happened to be my son's 13th birthday. We traveled with other family members and had connecting rooms. Rooms were clean. We had the worst view of building rooftops and apartments from our mosquito infested balcony, so unfortunately we were not able to enjoy it at all. Front desk staff was hit and miss. At check in they did see all the kids, it might have been nice if they told us there was an arcade. They did also offer to have balloons and a cake for me to surprise my son the day of his birthday, but then it took 2 hours of waiting in the lobby to actually get them on the day of even thought it was offered at check in on Wed for the following Monday. Breakfast: you get what you pay for. Oh yes, its free, so don't approach it with high standards. There are cooked to order omelets which were raw veggies tossed in the middle of a thinned out "egg pancake". Best thing to order is sunny side up where you see them crack and cook your egg. There is no oatmeal. I think there was some yogurt option and some sliced melons as healthier options. Kids enjoyed the pancakes, but it's not something I would prefer they eat every day. Pools were nice cleaned regularly. Pool bar had the best food options. Their happy hour rates were not that great, $7 for mojito versus the regular $10 price. Beach??? They do advertise beach front and have beautiful pictures of the beach, but this was our biggest disappointment. The beach is gated off from the property giving you a horrible view of the gate from pool area. Not only can you NOT swim, you can't even use the paddle boats that they rent you for $35 hour. We tried and kept getting stuck on all the seaweed. There are several spots where the water is not more than 5 inches deep and we had to keep getting off the paddle boats to push it and get them unstuck. The water is clear, you can see all the way down through those few inches of water to see the miles of green sea weeds underneath. The beach chairs are dirty and torn. They defiantly do not tidy up or care for this beach area. We paid the premium for "beach front hotel" because we obviously wanted access to a swimmable beach. Dinner: Worst experience and food ever!!!!! Be prepared to have to drive out every night for dinner. Our first night, we went to the one restaurant on site worried that they wouldn't have seating for a group of 7 but it was empty. (now we know why) Even though there was no one else except 2 other couples service was horrible. They never stopped by the table except once to take order and once to drop it off. The food was cold and flavorless. Food is priced about $25 a plate and they automatically added the 18% tip to tab. Evening reception: Free drinks - no complaints! You do need to wait in a line and you are allowed to order 2 per trip. You do get tiny plastic little cups which since they are free I still cant complain. They say "light snacks" which is popcorn and chips that they put out daily. No variation. My only gripe is that if they are encouraging everyone to hang out in lobby for this reception, there should be more seating and maybe some music to liven up the place.

Yelp
Stayed here after hurricane Maria which hammered the island. Although apart of the hotel was still under repair, the hotel is decent. The staff is what made my stay memorable and amazing... the resilience Puerto Rican's poses is admirable. They have happy hour from 4-6 I believe every weekday and I literally was drunk everyday lmaooo. The shrimp pasta with chocolate drizzle was to die for. Def would stay here again if I ever stayed in El Dorado!

Yelp
Embassy Suites, Dorado Beach, Dorado Puerto Rico Stayed at this property from April 27 to May 1st, 2015. This resort is located in one of the most beautiful parts in Puerto Rico. We were greeted promptly with warm smiles. Our flight arrived to San Juan at 9am. Once we arrived at the hotel, the staff arranged for our room so we could check in and take a most needed nap. Our room was on the 4th floor with partial ocean views and partial mountain views - just stunning!!! Our room was a bit dated but spacious! It featured a microwave, small refrigerator, and sink with a dining table and a pull out sofa. There is renovations going on so you might hear some hammering!!! The hotels offered a daily free hot breakfast from 6:30am to 9:30am and daily happy hour from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. The pool was amazing, lots of tables and chairs in the shade, swim up bar and the beach was amazing. Totally secluded from the world. The beach was protected from the waves so little ones can swim freely; lots of beach chairs and palm trees!! Unfortunately, the golf course is closed. Daily parking is additionally and the resort charges an 18% daily resort fee. The resort fees gets you two daily free bottles of water and free wifi!! Embassy has it right!! Great stay! Definitely, Location, location, location!!! Would we go back?? YES!!!!

Yelp
We spend our son's Graduation Party last June 2018 at this Hotel and it's obvious 10 months after Maria they haven't recovered. Anyway many of the rooms cabinets, lobby entrance are old. They need remodeling rush. Service to the rooms was good and personnel was nice but the Main restaurant had employees that forgot the orders and cMe back to our table 15 minutes or more later. The pool was ni e but too crowded. Some ceiling where still damaged. Anyway the main issue is the one you might clicked on this review and is the crow. Yes, who knows if since Maria this poor guy has been there like a mummy waiting for Anthropologists to discover him 1 millions year in the future as perfectly maintained specimen of a hotel guest. The Scarecrow Hotel Suites.

Yelp
Depends on your expectations and needs in a hotel. For us, our family has tried 6 locations in PR. Only this place has what we want. 1) super close to the ocean with a wave reducing rock line 2) kids for our kids to play with at the pool 3) not too far from San Juan airport. 4) not too pricey and 5) a full kitchen (note we stayed at the Aquarius, Golden Villas part of the resort, it isn't on yelp) and a closed door bedroom and suite set up. We didn't care about walk to night life, casinos or golf. We have been here now 3x and will make this our every year. I think Priceline name your own price, sometimes results in this hotel. But not sure.

Yelp
We booked 3 rooms for a 6 night vacation to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. My sister is Hilton Platinum & I am Hilton Silver. We stay in Embassy Suites quite a bit and were looking forward to this one. The staff was courteous and helpful - that is all that I have to say that is positive. This hotel needs to be updated badly. The pool and beach area have been updated since the hurricane, but the rooms as ridiculously outdated. Here were just some of the problems with our room: the bathtub didn't drain, the towel rack was about to fall of the wall, the floor was constantly wet from air conditioning condensation, the pillows were old and disgusting, the rooms were dirty around the edges, all of the doors had significant water damage, the mattresses were uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet was overcrowded and the food was no comparison to the quality of food in other Embassy properties. The manager's reception has gross snacks and the drinks were watered down if they contained alcohol at all. The exercise room has 3 machines and 1 was broken. The property allows non-guests to use the pool, so the pool is overcrowded, dirty, and the water is cloudy. You pay a beach fee and it gets you no more than honors status already would. I feel like I was robbed by Hilton on this vacation. This property should have cost half the price for the quality of the property, food and amenities. Please don't make the mistake we did. I am shocked that anyone can give this property a 3 or 4 star review. This is my first one star review and this property earned it.

Yelp
My husband and I travelled from Orlando to Dorado del Mar, PR on a little vacation/getaway. Our first impression when we got there exceeded pur expectation completely! We were greeted by the friendliest of staff while we entered a very neat and beautiful lobby. Hungry right after a long day of car rides and travelling we decided to try the restaurant located in a little "island" right in the middle of the room towers. Food was great! We enjoyed some delicious mofongo with chicken and arroz con pollo. It was casually the time frame for the manager's reception where they also treated us to free house liquor/wine/beer...and not 1, but 2 beverages per person and as many times you wanted from 5.30 to 7.30pm After a wonderful evening we got the chance to explore the room and then the pool area and the beach. The room was clean and ample, the pool was bright and clean, very well illuminated and big enough for the amount of rooms. The beach area was a little limited and with some sea urchins but accessible. Throughout our stay we tried anything and everything within the resort... from the breakfast, the Bistro, the Pool bar, to the shop and even the Teppan restaurant accross the street. We were pleased with all areas and we sure wanted our stay to be longer... but we will definitely be back! My only constructive remark would be to put a little thinking into the free breakfast buffet as I wasn't able to have many choices that I could eat low on oil/grease/fat. Maybe more healthy options!

Yelp
My whole experience here has been a complete mess. Honestly it's been so bad. From the staff to the management. They have no regard for the customers. They are very dismissive towards you and discrepancies made on the end. They do not try to correct their constant lack of professionalism. Poor Customer service. You nearly have to beg for them for someone to service the room. (4 consecutive day) Then the customer is to blame. The staff insists that you had the do not disturb Placker on your door. Never taken no accountability. The staff at this hotel require proper training. This hotel does not even deserve a 1 star. I will recommend a negative 5. The hotel is poorly maintained. The ice machine has mildew. Never use it. The rooms are out dated. The ac system does not work. The water pressure in the shower is not adjustable. The parking is such an inconvenience. The casino customers takes over parking structure. Which has the customer parking all the way at the top. We pay for parking to be inconvenienced. I really hope others reconsider staying here. I HIGHLY do not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
Let's be honest: I wouldn't be judging this place so harshly if it wasn't so expensive. There's a gorgeous view, a lively live entertainment and an epic infinity pool. It's beautiful. But I'm so unhappy here. I live in Puerto Rico. I can have everything I mentioned every day, all over the island, for practically free. But at $200 a night I'm interested in amenities! For $40 last night my nieces shared one piece of dry cake and two scoops of ice cream. The overwhelming consensus on breakfast and dinner was Boring Boring Boring. I don't like spicy, I crave mashed potatoes on the reg, so it's not like I wanted BAM! But seriously, the kitchen spices --including salt and pepper-- must be hermetically sealed for posterity. We didn't get towels, no one removed our food trays and you have to individually check out pool towels. The view and the music and the pool really are great. But we were better treated at a Days Inn and Dominoes Pizza (gross) would have been an exciting and flavorful alternative to what LOOKED like beautiful menu options. I'm just really really disappointed.
