I recently stayed at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Springfield for a work trip, and honestly, it was one of my least favorite Hilton experiences.
When I first pulled up, I could tell the building was older—maybe recently remodeled—but the vibe was off from the start. The front desk check-in was fine, but overall the staff didn’t seem very friendly or welcoming. The bigger white guy bartender, in particular, acted like he couldn’t be bothered unless you were actually buying a drink not just down during happy hour, which left a bad impression.
The real issue came the next morning when I woke up and saw a roach crawling on the wall. That was disgusting and made me question how clean the room really was. To make things worse, breakfast was chaos—hundreds of middle school kids crowding the buffet and elevators, making it nearly impossible to grab food or move around comfortably. I get that big groups happen, but there should be better management or structure when the hotel is hosting that many students. Like you can tell when a hotel is actually equipped to handle a large volume of people at once this was not the case here.
To top it off, I woke up with bug bites on my arm the morning I checked out, which sealed the deal for me. Between the lack of hospitality, cleanliness issues, and general chaos, I definitely wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to others.
