DO NOT BOOK. Much to tell, but so many words allowed. If looking for Christmas Market experience as marketed by Emerald, PERCEPTION VS EXPERIENCE. Itinerary was less than acceptable, port arrivals in the morning, markets not opened, minimal time to venture through the cities before requiring to return to ship early afternoon. BEWARE: Marketed itinerary per stop includes city tour (paid for in booking)+extra cost tour, time does not allow both. Was told by ship employees, this was a turnaround cruise, therefore times at ports due to last minute port authority booking, scheduling. Response from Emerald was washed out excuses about logistics beyond control, however cruise was booked 9 months prior. Emerald offered minimal compensation. Food/wine average, not luxury as marketed. Amazing staff to compensate for experience. Strasbourg highlight, can't comment on Heidelberg/Cologne, not there long enough to experience. 5 points given for onboard staff, not company service.

First solo river cruise and overall Emerald Luna was good. My favourite part of the cruise were the tours. There were a wide variety included tours available for all fitness levels. Guides were knowledgable and the Cruise Director (Michael) was awesome explaining what the tours were for the following day. Food wasn't bad, but I found there to be a lot of sauces on meals at dinner and there were a few nights where the meat (steak & veal) weren't good. Wine with the meals were good, but disappointed that there weren't more local wines offered. Rooms were comfortable, but not cleaned very good as I found hair (that wasn't mine) behind the TV and the floors weren't cleaned every day. I was surprised that Emerald asked us to complete a survey 2 days before disembarkation and only gave us 24 hours to complete it. Not sure how you can do a survey, especially since there was a question regarding disembarkation, before that has actually happened. They did send a link a day before I got back and gave me 3 days to complete, but the link didn't work. Having said all of the above, I would consider another Emerald River Cruise.

My spouse and I booked a 19 day excursion to Cambodia and Vietnam back in May 2017. Our tour was for September 28 until October 16, 2018. We actually booked 3 extra days at the beginning of the trip so that we'd be well rested. We've just returned home after the most incredible experience of our lives. This is a glowing testimonial that Emerald Waterways is a first class travel agent! Every tiny detail was thoroughly thought out and adhered to and our expectations were exceeded beyond our imagination. We certainly would not hesitate to book with Emerald Waterways again and we'll be recommending their service to anyone who inquires. Thank you Emerald Waterways for the best vacation we've ever had!

Emerald canceled my Rhine river cruise (August 2022) and have yet to process my refund. I had my agent call at the 4 week mark and was told “they are processing it and will mail a refund”. Initially I was told that the refund would be processed within 2 weeks. Not acceptable to hold my $8000+ hostage for weeks and weeks. At this point they should be wiring funds or sending by Fed Ex but they won’t. In what world is it acceptable to wait this long for money that a large corporation has no right to hold onto. Sept 28 I spoke with the company as I still haven’t received any money back and they have not responded to this review or to my email to them. They have 0 customer quality. I was told that the “small print” states they have up to 180 days to return my money. I first paid my deposit Feb 11, 2022 so those funds they have held for 7.5 months without me having access to them and they say they can hold for up to 180 days which means an entire year that I won’t have access to funds FROM A CRUISE THEY CANCELLED. Not to mention other funds I am out of pocket for cancelling the trip. And with all of this they feel no obligation to call to apologize, respond to an email or send back any funds. Really unacceptable for a large corporation to hold hostage our funds like this.

We are just returning from a 21 day Cambodia and Vietnam. It was an amazing trip. The best part was the boats on the Mekong and Halong Bay. Both our guides were wonderful and knowledgeable. Bros in Cambodia and Nghia in Vietnam. One of our Discover More trips was cancelled and we received a refund within a week of getting home. The "One Night in Saigon" - Discover More excursion was NOT as Advertised!! It was definitely NOT worth the extra money paid. Our guide to the airport, Minh, was very helpful and he was well educated. He helped us check in and accompanied us to the security gate.

Loved the cruise from Budapest to Nuremberg last August. The Panorama suite was lovely and staffs kind and attentive. Food and wine deliciou6.Plan to do Bucharest to Budapest in September 2021, covid permitting.

Our Dec. 2022 river cruise was cancelled by Emerald without any explanation. I requested a refund and have now waited weeks with no refund or apology .I would stay away from this company

Excellent experience! We've taken 2 cruises with them and love it. Cuisine is top notch.
