I was heading up to north shore hospital to see a family member. Called The Emerald and spoke to James who was delightful. It was late when i arrived, the light was on, the heater on. What an oasis. Immaculate in every way. 10 out of 10 for cleanliness.and comfort. Couldnt recommend it highly enough! A 2 minute walk to Takapuna beach and great price as well.

Beautiful property in perfect location . We actually had our micro wedding here and stayed the night along with friends and family. The rooms have been so tastefully decorated, are impeccably clean and have everything you need. Home away from home with amazingly professional staff too. We only live nearly but would definitely consider coming for the odd staycation. Highly recommended!

Great place, almost Disney-like! Lush, tropical feel with well cared-for gardens. If I had a complain it's that the plants were TOO numerous, made parking in some spaces difficult (no room to get out) (and the branches scratched the door of the car) and parking is at a premium here, so be aware. There is no need for a car once in Takapuna, there are restaurants that will keep you busy every breakfast, lunch or dinner every day of the week (highly recommend Beach Cafe for an unbelievable cafe mocha and Aubergine for great food). You will be pleasantly surprised with Emerald Inn rooms which are well appointed and stocked. Beautiful courtyard with pool. And washer/dryer is available. James at the front desk was a delight to speak with and made sure we were all settled in. Interestingly, the front desk has limited hours so make sure your business is taken care of early in the day. This was not a problem for us. Beach walks are a must, as is people watching at all the shops and diners along Hurstmere Road. And New World or Woolworths supermarkets are within easy walking distance. Forgive the weak photos. We took them as we were checking out, but it'll give you an idea. Looks way better than I framed. Enjoy your stay!

Great location within walking distance to shops and restaurants and to the beach. The property was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, this was at the end of our trip and we didn't have a chance to hang out by the pool but the room was spacious and comfortable. Didn't hear any street noise from our location. We did utilize the fan in the closet, mostly for my mom, but I didn't think it was too hot.

The beds are over 20 years old and just terrible, the couch was stained and dirty we would not even sit on it. The location is about the most positive thing about the place. James on the front desk was just lovely. Apart from that give it a miss 3/10 and that is being generous.

This is the second time we have stayed here. Ideal to return the hire car to Auckland then take the ferry to Devonport and then the bus back to Takapuna, away from the bustle of the city and a much more relaxed environment. Nicely spaced out apartments overlooking a pool and shady trees at eye level, giving loads of privacy. Comfy beds, towels changed daily, very clean, we had no problem with the standard and modernity of the facilities. Loads of restaurants in the vicinity and close to the shore.

A Great place too stay family friendly close to beach and local shops and main shopping area of Takapuna. A great pool for Summer fun holidays. I will have to return during the summer and stay longer to enjoy all amenities and local aera.

What a beautiful garden setting right near the town centre but we honestly couldn't hear any traffic noise from our room overlooking the pool and gardens and felt like we were another world away. Such beautiful gardens. The apartment itself needed a bit of maintenance as a few things were showing age and broken but I can't fault the cleanliness and every day our room was serviced as was spotless. The pool was freezing as it doesn't get much sun so please consider heating it in future as that would have made our staff a 5 star. Otherwise the staff were super friendly, our room clean and the proximity to the lovely Takapuna beach and all the cafes and restaurants you could ask for made our trip fabulous.

Yelp
We stayed here one night as a surprise weekend out of the house by my partner, and I was pleasently surprised by this little inn just at the end of Takapuna beach. The rooms were fantastic, surrounding the pool at the centre of the property, massive king sized bed we could lie sideways on, tea and coffee making facilities, and Sky TV. Our room had a huge spa bath in them, (which we made good use of!) and with it's location right next to Takapuna, if you want a nice romantic time away but still be within walking distance of a great dinner, a few drinks and a moonlit stroll down Takapuna beach, there isn't any better place than here. And for rooms for $170 a night, it's not necessarily the cheapest property around, but you pay for the location and the rooms are well worth it, plush, comfortable, fantastic.
