"How did it strike you on arrival? The exterior is a little odd, with all sorts of folds and windows, but indoors is super chic: There is a Burle Marx-inspired vertical garden, midcentury Modern chairs and sofas and a chic brass bar. It feels like the perfect middle ground between the classic scene at the Belmond Copacabana Palace to the north, and the excessive party vibe at the Fasano, just south. Nice. What’s the crowd like? Chic, sophisticated travelers with excellent taste. Maybe architects, designers and those wanting a subtle, tasteful scene The good stuff: Tell us about your room. My room was large and very comfortable, with lovely touches like plants and plump white sofas that make it feel like your own sophisticated beach side apartment. Plus, they had huge showers and bathtubs, and pillowy robes to lounge in on those couches after a day spent on the beach. Room service: Worth it? If room service was comprised of baskets and baskets of the delicious pan do queijo , a Brazilian cheese bread you order at breakfast, you'd be very, very happy. But just go downstairs and do the whole breakfast: healthful bowls of cool acai with grains and nuts, the freshest green juice and that wonderful cheese bread, served warm, is the most perfect start to the day. The breakfast salon has vertical gardens and skylights. How were the staff? Here's one negative: the wi-fi was shoddy at best. The staff, however, were exceedingly apologetic and tried to trouble shoot by letting guests access their laptops. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you. Beach access is great—it's right across the street from the southern part of Copacabana Beach, next to Ipanema—and the rooftop pool is super chic. Unlike Copacabana Palace, the pool gets sun all day long (and the bartenders up there mix a mean caprioska ). The spa is a knock-out, too. Bottom line: worth it, and why? This hotel is a welcome new opening and pace on Rio's Zona Sul. It's more subtle and modern to contrast the go-go party scene of the Fasano, yet without the sometimes stiffness of the Copacabana Palace. It feels young and sophisticated, and revives the more dated northern part of Zona Sul, yet it is close to Ipanema and Leblon."

Such a beautiful property right on the beach and amazing views. Stayed over Christmas period so a bit hectic but the service all super friendly and efficient.|Went for a beach front view - pretty special views and was surprisingly quiet. Nice to have the balcony. (We were on L4 - probably would have preferred something slightly higher). |Breakfast was super fresh and delicious (the breakfast/dining room) is very elegant and calm. |Had dinner on the rooftop one evening - super special space and stunning views. Rooftop pool was equally great by day - never had a problem getting a sunbed - although there were a few too many instragram poses! |We will definitely return.

Lovely hotel across the street from Copacabana Beach. The service is outstanding! Nightly pastries left in our room were a delightful touch. Spent four nights here. Every member of the staff was unfailingly polite and helpful. Special shout out to Alef and Daniel at the front desk who always greeted us by name and with a warm smile. Very welcoming. Would enthusiastically recommend when visiting the wonderful city of Rio.

One of the best hotels I have stayed recently despite its small size. The service is outstanding, very polite employees and always there to help with anything ! The hotel room and cleaning service is top quality ! The facilities are amazing and the rooms are gorgeous. I recommend taking the rooms with the ocean view. The hotel has an amazing rooftop with a luxurious restaurant and an infinity pool. Its a must to stay here if its in your budget !

Watch out for their unreasonable rules on bringing other people to the hotel. I was staying here with my husband but since he had go back to the US 2 days earlier I agreed to meet one of my girlfriends (that is actually staying at a hotel nearby) downstairs and go to the beach. She arrived a few minutes early and was prevented by an extremely rude front desk lady from going up to my room while I finished applying sunscreen. I explained that we weren’t going to the rooftop (that required a different elevator to go up by the way but what if we wanted to go up there? The fact that you can’t even pay for an additional person to use it with you is beyond me) and that it would only be for a few of minutes as I was almost ready and she yelled at the lobby and in front of other people that non-guests aren’t allowed to go up to the rooms or rooftop. Totally absurd. Imagine you’re vacationing and meet someone or happen to have a friend in town and you can’t even enjoy the place with your plus one without being yelled at. Although I highly doubt that they would have been this rude at some foreigner or really any man had they decided to bring a companion back to the hotel, here is your warning NOT to stay here. My advice? For better rooms, better location, better service and non-rude stuck-up front desk personnel, stay at Fasano! Ps: I have been asking for a late checkout since I got here (and I was willing to pay for it) and kept hearing that I’d have to call front desk on the day of the checkout to check availability but of course my room isn’t available for late checkout last minute. Unbelievable.

Google
Mixed feelings about this hotel, the views are amazing, service was great, but the hotel is looking worn and the area is not the best. ||First of all, the views from the rooms and pool are amazing. The service was also very good abd friendly; special shout-out to Enzo and the concierge staff. ||Food was very good, breakfast is varied and lunch by the pool was super enjoyable. ||Now for a few things I didn't like: the hotel is looking dated and worn. Walls and furniture chipped and cracked, walls scuffed, etc. ||The location is not the best in Rio, the area around the hotel is not very nice and I wouldn't walk around there at night. That going said, not sure there's a better area of the city. Stayed at the Copacabana Palace on my last visit and the area was the same but without the views. ||If you come here, splurge for a room with bslcony/view.

I stayed here with my wife and was sad to hear that she was mistreated by one of the front desk personnel after I was gone. This hotel has very strict rules that prevent anyone from bringing non-guests to their building. Definitely not the high end experience you would expect from a so-called 5-star hotel. I highly recommend staying at Fasano instead.

I stayed at Janeiro, Fasano and Emiliano on this trip and Emiliano was by far the best. The food was incredible and beautifully presented, the welcome gifts were thoughtful (and this was the only hotel that paid attention to the fact that I couldn’t eat gluten) and the staff were the best and friendliest. The rooms are gorgeous and well designed and the pool is amazing, they even provide sunscreen. Next time I will only stay at Emiliano!

My bff and I stayed a Emiliano Rio for a night before our tour started. We couldn’t stop talking about it. The rooms…beautiful! The spa…exquisite!!! The food…top notch!!! And the service was spectacular. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome and they accommodated every request we had!

Yelp
A great, unforgettable experience. If you are looking for a hotel in Copacabana, this is it. The rooms are so cozy and comfortable, and they're very spacious. My favorite part was the shower/tub. I loved unwinding with an aromatic bubble bath in the evenings. My only complaint however, is that their faucets and shower head filters clearly haven't been changed in a long time. The shower water spews in every direction with poor water pressure, as does the sink. The sink also kept clogging. My boyfriend was personally a fan of the toilet (ha!) which had a heated seat and dryer. The bed was dreamy, and thanks the pillow menu, I even found a pillow for my debilitating neck pain. The welcome treats were appreciated, as were the nightly desserts. Finally, the pool deck has the best views of the Rio and provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city below.

Yelp
Emiliano Rio provides an unparalleled experience in the heart of Copacabana. The rooftop pool's breathtaking view of the beach is complemented by the Michelin-reviewed Emile restaurant on-site. The shower's water pressure is a standout feature (things I find important ), and daily room snacks add a thoughtful touch. With meticulous attention to detail, Emiliano Rio seamlessly combines luxury, exclusivity, and Brazilian sophistication. An amazing stay where no detail is forgotten. Facts: 1. Gym is small but has everything you need for a vacation gym. 2. There is food service at the pool. 3. Bottled water is provided every day. 4. Rooms are updated. 5. Sauna and Steam Room are both complimentary. 6. Beach umbrellas are complimentary. 7. There are plenty of good restaurants within walking. 8. It is safe on Copacabana Beach Strip. 9. They have a spa with an array of services.

Yelp
From arrival at the Emiliano Rio, the staff was courteous, accommodating, and helpful. Special shout outs to Brandon, Leon, Fonseco, and Hugo. Brandon at the front desk concierge was helpful in securing a prime restaurant reservation, and transportation/tickets for visiting Christ the Redeemer. Leon welcomed us and gave a great tour of the hotel upon our arrival. Fonseco also welcomed us and was just an all-around joy. Hugo was incredible helpful at the beach and the hotel's beach service was stellar. Wonderful and restful trip. Much more than just a beautiful hotel, the staff takes the Emiliano to another level. Thank you!

Yelp
Great location if you want to experience Copacabana and the rooftop pool & restaurant is a big reason to stay here. The hotel overlooks the beach and you get to experience Copa peaceful instead of being mixed in with the crazyness of the beach. Service was ok but strangely lacking - no towels one day and service was spotty. Rooms themselves are average and getting one facing the beach is significantly better than the others. Staff were friendly and many speak English. Overall a nice stay and if using Amex FHR, don't expect a room upgrade as the hotel is small but the spa is great a good use of your credit

Yelp
What a marvelous experience. The staff is extremely attentive and welcoming. All of them speak a very good English. At the restaurant, our server, Matias, will always great us using our first name, making us "part of the " family. The other servers remembered what type of juices we liked and would propose them without us asking. The rooms offered an extreme comfort and all the amenities you need during your stay. I loved the Japanese style toilet. Every night, we got different small pastries placed in the room: so delicious. The breakfast menu is a feast. The view from the pool is absolutely beautiful. The spa, the steam room, the sauna, and the gym are undoubtedly great and added to our wonderful experience. My advise: make sure to say when you book that you want a room on the icean.

Yelp
The hotel is very nice in the front. Staff helpful. We reserved a deluxe king Courtyard room. However, What they mean by a courtyard is a neighboring apartment building and dirty, grimey walls. To upgrade they wanted us to pay the same amount we have already paid for our deluxe room (double the cost). I consider this false advertisement and we would have never reserved the room if we knew we would be staring at our naked neighbors.

Yelp
Husband and I stayed at the Emiliano Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and it was the best hotel we ever stayed in our lives! Costumer service is impeccable, we got a hotel tour when we first walked in. The room and views from balcony are amazing, just a couple of meters from Copacabana beach and yet private enough. Food at the restaurant and at the pool area was very tasty. Highly recommend if you want to have a 5 starts experience.
