I was approached immediately as the only person of color in the store when an employee made a comment on my bag (which was very small), saying it could “hold a lot,” and said it was a real “work horse” while staring at me directly... Your employees need to be more aware of their biases and how their comments may seem, especially in times like this. Very charming store, but I was clearly unwelcome.

A most satisfying store - such a pleasant experience to browse in this beautifully curated collection of home decor, gifts, and French finds. From cute notecards to lovely jewelry to baby clothes ... a large selection that complements each other without feeling too crowded. I walked out with some beautiful jewelry and jewelry travel roll up. Unplanned purchases today as the experience was just too lovely not to be celebrated with some purchases. A purchase is about the feeling while shopping - it will infuse the item with meaning and memories even before you first wear it/lay it out/ gift it - as much as the item being purchsed. A bonus of the store visit today was walking away inspired - inspired to go home and "fluff" my own home Great stafff. Shout out to Jackie and Meg. Meg is a talented photographer with a love for interiors. Emily Joubert store is a new addition to the country mart. The owner of the store has a few other ones in the Bay Area.
