Best International Airlines for Food 2023

"Emirates provides fresh ingredients across all classes. Economy flyers enjoy items like barbecue chicken and apple caramel mousse, while First Class features pan-fried beef tenderloin and chocolate mango tart." - Erika Owen

I must say, Emirates truly lives up to its reputation. The class, comfort, and overall flying experience are in a league of their own — something that must be experienced to be fully appreciated. From in-flight entertainment to food quality and safety protocols, everything felt polished and premium. Dubai Airport also deserves a special mention. It is simply world-class, with facilities, efficiency, and design that surpass even major airports in the USA. It’s a destination in itself, setting the bar high for global air travel. However, one major drawback dampened the journey: When traveling as a group, especially with young children, Emirates’ system does not support group seating arrangements by default. Despite booking together, we faced a frustrating situation where seats were scattered, and our 8-year-old ended up seated between two unrelated adults. This was understandably concerning and stressful. I requested the crew for assistance, but unfortunately, the air hostess couldn't do much due to limited options and lack of cooperation from fellow passengers. It was a helpless situation that could have easily been prevented with a more flexible or thoughtful seating system for families traveling with kids. Thankfully, nothing major occurred, but the experience left us anxious throughout the flight. Emirates should really consider implementing a smarter seating system for group and family bookings, especially involving minors. Final Verdict: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Still one of the best airlines in terms of quality and professionalism, but this seating issue is worth addressing for the safety and comfort of family travelers

I am not impressed with Emirates Airlines because they changed my original flight without any explanation. I have purchased a business class ticket from Minneapolis-Chicago-Dubai-Ahmedbad for travel in January 2025. Normally, they used to issue boarding passes for the entire trip at the origin of the flights. My bags were checked in all the way to my final destination. However, they issued my boarding passes only up to Chicago. I had to go out from the security and recheck in at the emirates counters which was very time consuming. Thankfully, I had plenty of time in between flights. One of my co-passengers had difficulty with the transit and had to go through the same re-check in process. The boarding process was also not so smooth. It was rather chaotic. However, Emirates Airlines made it up with the impeccable inflight service. The in flight crew worked hard throughout the flights. This is really not the same Emirates Airlines I used to fly in the past.

Hands down the best Airline on the planet (talking about Business Class). I still have to experience Qatar Airways, so as to give a comparison. Definitely would love to travel Qatar Business Class and also on a A380 with Emirates. Maybe next year.

My name is Adele and 2 weeks ago I flew with your airlines for the first time. Since I had a lot of luggage I ran into some problems that were eliminated by joint efforts as soon as possible. It's always a lot of stress before departure but I'm so glad that the staff at the check-in desk (O’Hara airport) are professionals in their field and know what customer service is. For me, the main indicator is the help of company representatives at a difficult moment. I want to express my deep gratitude to Manager Syed for his patience help and courtesy. Thanks to him I will now always remember that Emirates is one of the best companies and I will buy a ticket only for Emirates. I appreciate!

Terrible service by Chicago staff. They lost luggage tag when doing passport check. After 5 minutes they started announcing my name with passport check required. Looks like minimum training should be provided to these guys. Very bad experience with emirates. Best airline to worst in few years

This Airline just now focused on making money and rigging customers . Extremely poor behavior of their associates. Poor service experience recently by all aspects .

Hi I am a very introverted person and communication for me is a big task , I recall her name to be AVANI . She helped me today like nobody else , she took her time to address all my concerns . I had a bulk of them . And she answered about everything with so much care , that I literally felt this so personal to write a review. Thank-you so much emirates . Your infant complimentary bassinets and everything, you are so helpful to me . Thank-you so much . This is my second time writing it .

Yelp
Emirates Airlines has spoiled me, and I feel like every subsequent airline experience will now be measured up to this -- and this from just flying in coach. I flew on Emirates Airlines via O'Hare on my recent trip to India, with a layover in Dubai. And from the start, it became clear that this would be unlike other flights I've been on. We sat down in our seats to find a video screen in the back of the seat in front of us for our entertainment. OK, fine -- that's not revolutionary. But this had 150+ HD movies, including some new releases. I'm on a bit of a Marvel kick at the moment, and there was a section for pretty much every recent MCU movie. The video consul also had a plethora of TV shows to watch. Suddenly my 13-hour flight didn't look so bad. The flight attendants soon came around to give each passenger a zippered pouch containing an eye mask, ear plugs, socks, toothbrush and toothpaste. Definitely not too shabby. They also handed out menus for our flight. Considering this was an international flight, I was hoping we could get some meals on it. But these meals surpassed expectations. We got two full meals with a pizza snack during the longest legs of our trip. And the meals reflected our destination. The Indian and Middle Eastern fare was pretty delicious, with the chicken biryani and rice pudding being my faves. We also got free beer and wine on the trip, which helped a bit with trying to sleep on the flight. The chairs in coach were decently comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The planes appeared modern and clean. Whenever I go international again, I'll look to see if I can take an Emirates Airlines flight.

Yelp
the flight was good and service attentive but the staff at the business class lounge gave me a lot of grief since I was traveling with my 2 teens and wouldn't allow all of us to relax in the lounge . I was informed I need to pay for one of my children.Overall an ok experience

Yelp
Although I looked forward to flying with Emirates, they let us down! Due to SIX cancelations from an American Airlines flight from Chicago to Newark, we missed our connection on Emirates from Newark to Athens Greece. When we finally arrived at Newark Airport (~1 AM) the Emirates gate was closed and would not reopen until 11:55 PM the next day. We called Emirates early in the morning from the airport to see about getting on the next flight, only to find out our ENTIRE round-trip flight was canceled! Emirates told us we would have to pay a "no-show" fee of $400. to get another flight. Due to no other choice, we were agreeable to that but were told we needed to rebook through Priceline. After multiple calls between Emirates and Priceline, Priceline said besides the $400 we would need to rebook the flight at the current rate of over $2,000. In the end, we searched for an alternate flight and rebooked at $1200 on Delta, with no help from Emirates or Priceline. One of the three of us was at the airport (see lived in Newark) and informed the Emirates agent that our flight was delayed, that agent said we would be able to get the next flight out, well that proved wrong. It seems to me we should have been at least given the chance to stand by or at best only had a one-way cancelation. It's news to me that missing part of the flight automatically cancels the entire flight! I think all these larger airlines can afford better customer service but are simply not interested. btw... this ended up costing us an additional $2400 and we completely missed our stay in Santorini. I know I for one will remember this and look elsewhere as there are other options!

Yelp
Emirates A380 first class is excellent. Service is superb, as compared to united or AA. Middle Eastern airlines have amazing stewardesses. Very well trained and quite gracefully poised. Our USA airlines' stewardess are often less gracious and not as good, even in international first class. US airlines seats also are far inferior - even in United first or American first. Food in Emirates first is very delicious. Typically, the food is very good in middle Eastern and Asian airlines. The lounge in Dubai offers an excellent dining experience. Lufthansa first lounge in Frankfurt also is as good. Our airlines are the worst for service and dining. The A380 has a bar and lounge for first and business class passengers, which is is Lufthansa welcome feature. Deserts there were superb. Full service bar with premium liquors, including nice cognacs, wines etc. It's my favorite airline, along with etihad, Singapore and Lufthansa. BA first also is pretty good. United and AA are far inferior for dining seating and service.

Yelp
Air travellers, don't despair. You can eat real food and find attentive service when you fly Emirates. They have won many awards in Europe for their outstanding service and my two recent experiences proved this to be well-deserved. Consider this for meal choices: for vegetarians alone, they have vegan, vegetarian, Hindu vegetarian and Asian vegetarian. One of the things I love about flying Emirates is how flight attendants represent anywhere from 4-8 different countries and languages. They are cheerful - yes, that matters when you spend upwards of 10 hours with them - and go out of their way to meet passenger's needs. The in-flight entertainment system - a crucial item on trans-Atlantic travels - is outstanding. There are movies as expected, but many more than usual, representing classics to world cinema. Audio programs include books on tape and specially recorded programs such as global music. And of course there are games, including ones you can play with other passengers. To top it all, their prices are very competitive and came out on the lower side for me so the choice to go with them was easy.

Yelp
This update is a little late, but better late than never. My wife and I were upgraded to business class on our flight to Dubai (as far as I can tell, completely independently of my previous review) and really enjoyed the service and little touches, including the plate of warm assorted nuts and other food choices. It was one of the best long-haul flight experiences we've had to date with great amenities in our seat including a fully horizontal reclining seat, personal video station with movies, music, and games and an extra mattress added on for a better sleep. We were well taken care of by the flight attendants, who were obviously experienced in providing just the right amount of attention and touches to the in-flight experience. We did not receive an upgrade on the return trip, but were equally happy with the quality and service of economy class compared to many other airlines and can recommend Emirates as a top airline.

Yelp
I had a great flight yesterday returning from Duabai. I was seated in business class and the flight attendants were exceptional. They worked the entire 16.5 hour flight to ensure everyone was comfortable. The food was served warm and drinks were served cold; every attention to detail was given. I would especially like to give a shout out to flight attendant Petra. She really must like her job. She was very pleasant and helpful.

Yelp
Everything that could go wrong went wrong! I was checked in at the South Africa airport in Johannesburg on November 19, 2016 around 8:45 PM. I checked six pieces of luggage, however one of my luggages never got tagged. The agent that was checking me in initials: KO and a gentleman that was assisting her initials: TM accidentally, allowed my 24 inch rolling hard case luggage to go down the conveyor belt without one of the Bags being tagged. All baggage was put in my sons name Ernest C Johnson five bags (5) was checked in under his name and his six bag (6) was never tagged. It's been four days (4) and they are yet to find my bag! The name of the front luggage is: Dejuno. When I arrive at O'Hare airport, my final destination, I was told by Affan that I could not fill out a claim because I did not have a ticket number for my bag. So I was given a website which asked me for a claim number and I couldn't go online and fill that out, so I had to call the toll-free number and spoke with someone over the phone to get a claim number. Ridiculous!!! Overall, I have spoken with 14 different agents from around the world, south Africa, or here, and a bottle. It can't be this hard to locate a piece of luggage!!My entire experience has been a nightmare! I will never travel with Emirates again. This has caused a big inconvenience to me in my family. I have medicine in there that I can not get a refill for 30 days. Also, I expect to be compensated for our inconveniences for the three of us. Please contact me ASAP by phone 708-205-0057 or a return email thank you this information is time sensitive! Kimberly Renee' Johnson Ernest Johnson Ernest C Johnson

Yelp
Emirates Airlines has given me the chance to be relaxed and it has a lot of impact to its destination. The last time I went on Emirates was two years ago when I had to go to India from Chicago. We had a stop in Dubai. At the start of the journey, it didn't take me that long to realize the value of this plane...T.V.!!!!! For the whole day I could watch as many movies I can with the T.V. being right in front of me. Though, it was later until I reached at India, where I realized another value to this plane, the number of material that is transported to there. It was not only the passengers' but for the people working in the factories in India. From my expierence, a lot of the clothes in India are made from cotton and silk. These materials were from Industrial Revolution, so after airplanes were made, it was easier for the Indian communities to receive it faster than ships, because it took days. I realize now that airplanes are not only a way to travel a person from one place to another, but transport goods. This allows the economy to grow faster and efficiently.

Yelp
This office has terrible service. The level of knowledge about their rule is pretty low. People from this location behave poorly, treating passengers poorly.
