Right on the main shopping promenade. Our room was quite large looking down at the street and very cozy. The breakfast was very good and not to busy with lots of room. The staff was outstanding- so welcoming and friendly. English speaking was perfect. We had a great time. Highly recommended!

Had a very nice stay at Hotel Emma friendly efficient staff, beds are super comfy, rooms warm. Great location, 10 min walk from the train station and winterpark. We were really impressed with the huge selection for breakfast and all the local goods for sale in the reception, umbrellas if you need them, free coffee and biscuits, complimentary toiletries in the rooms. We would stay here again.

Very nice hotel in the town centre. Spacious rooms and perfect breakfast. The staff was very friendly. |There is coffee, cakes, biscuits and fruit available all the time. Guests can also use microwave in the lounge area. |I would stay here again.

At the end of our long vacation, our stay at Hotel Emma was delightful. The room was spacious, airy, tidy, had a frig, (a microwave in the hotel lounge), and did I say spacious? There was coffee and tea (plus little snacks like cookies) in the breakfast area, plus on one of the 2 floors of the rooms, a shared library/lounge which itself had some of those snacks as well. These were open all (or almost all?) of the time. A lovely, lovely place. Our room (all rooms?) overlooked the central pedestrian street in front. The hotel personnel were incredibly friendly and helpful. And the breakfasts were good, even in the context of Scandinavian style. For a dinner, the hotel gives a recommendation and a discount to the restaurant/pub Dalwhinnie practically below the hotel. This was an excellent recommendation; we really enjoyed that dinner. And the discount! We were grateful that neither harsh stinky chemicals nor perfumes or air fresheners were used in our room (their use is common and cause for an instant headache). Good wifi. I would stay again, and I highly recommend Hotel Emma.

Great experience at Hotel Emma ! We stayed 2 nights : super friendly staff who gave us a lot of tips to visit the city, the rooms are big and comfortable + delicious breakfast with home made bread / cakes and a lot of ingredients coming from Jämtland ! We will come back there if we visit Östersund again !

This is a small hotel right on the walking mall. The entrance is dingy and locked and the flight upstairs is old and dark. The reception counter looks like a flop house. Then it gets better. Much better! The rooms are larger than you would expect. Certainly not stylish but everything you need. Staff was great. The breakfast included is on a par with hotels costing twice as much! If you need to stay at the Ritz Carlton, you're not going to be happy but if you can handle a basic hotel, this will be a gem.

We spent one night at Hotel Emma on a recent driving trip around Sweden & Norway. The hotel is a small B&B along one of the main pedestrian areas in Ostersund—a delightful town. Rooms are spacious and bright, with big windows looking out onto the lake. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a good breakfast available in the inn’s clean, comfortable common space. Overnight parking is available just up the road at the tourist bureau.
