Emma's Bay House

Emma's Bay House (and really, the town of Fairhope) has convinced this New Englander that she wants to move there... or, spend at least another week in this gorgeous bed and breakfast that was like staying in a postcard, complete with bay breezes and Southern charm! Divine doesn’t begin to cover the Betty Annette room. Tucked on the upper level, the balcony afforded a jaw-dropping view of Mobile Bay. I love a good coffee sipping (or wine sipping) rocking chair view and this is one of the best ones I've ever encountered! Now, breakfast. They know how to do it. Our first morning was homemade French toast and the second was a delicious vegetable quiche. I'm not really a breakfast in the morning person, nor am I a veggie quiche person, but I was this weekend! The location is also fantastic. In the mornings we biked to the nearby pier and it's a super quick ride to downtown. We could have biked to downtown, but it's uphill and I was lazy and full of french toast. Best part was probably coming back after dinner and going out to the beautiful back lawn overlooking the water, playing Count Every Star by the Ravens on my little phone speaker as we danced under the stars. 💕 Anyways, safe to say we will be back to enjoy this amazing bed and breakfast!

Looking at the area for a possible move and booked Emma's at the last minute because I wasn't sure of my dates. Lucky for me, they had a room available after a last minute cancellation. They are so hospitable and friendly-told me the history of the Inn and the owners love it and work so hard to make sure everything you need (and want) is available. Good source of info on what not to miss, which came in handy for me since I'm new to Fairhope and offered restaurant suggestions which were perfect. Other guests and I had great breakfast offerings and the morning coffee left by your room each morning at 7:30a was a treat. It's the best area to stay in, too. Picturesque setting and walkable to downtown and great trails through a nearby park. Don't miss booking with Emma's Bay House!

Amazing view of the bay…wow! And the hospitality was wonderful…Michele & Dawn were just lovely. They made our brief stay over the top. Breakfast was also divine - bacon wrapped shrimp & homemade muffins! Wish we had more time here - but will definitely be back soon. Thanks again! Darren & Kat Hawkins

My wife and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon and it was incredible! The view from the balcony in the Betty Annette room was gorgeous. Waking up to coffee outside our door was delightful and the breakfast prepared for us downstairs made us feel like royalty, the French toast was the best I’ve ever had. We are so grateful for the wonderful hosts here! There is also a nice pier to walk outside on the bay and a park with playground, walking areas, and even sand volleyball nets.

What a wonderful location with kind and generous hosts! It was our first time but will not be our last. There are lovely trails near the house (on the water) and walkable to downtown and several restaurants. We loved Michelle's breakfast and Dawn's hospitality! Fairhope is fabulous!

Most wonderful wedding experience! I'm not one to leave reviews often, and I had to take a moment to compile my thoughts. We hosted my daughters wedding reception at Emma's in March. It started with the Bride and Bridesmaids moving into the house the night before. All the girls got to spend the night together in beautiful rooms overlooking Mobile Bay. They were served a fabulous breakfast the next morning and got to lounge around, getting dressed and enjoying this time with my daughter. Michelle and Dawn worked so hard to make sure every detail came together perfectly and even through a monsoon rain that came in during the reception, they helped move everything indoors and opened the spaces up as it was their own home. They were so gracious despite the wet floors and mess we made with the weather. I cannot say enough about the efforts they put in to make sure we all had such a memorable experience. Thank you Michelle and Dawn for sharing your home and space with us and for your gracious hospitality.

Staying at Emma’s Bay House has been on my Bucket List for years and I finally was able to visit for two nights and enjoyed the Dawn Marie room. It far exceeded my expectations in every way with the level of service leading the way. I have traveled extensively for both business and pleasure staying in some of the worlds best resorts and/or city based luxury hotels and Emma’s is firmly in the lead for The Best! If you are looking for a place to visit where your accommodations are the highlight of your trip consider Emma’s as your home away from home with a sense of elegance, class, and a unique experience then Emma’s should be on your Bucket List! Beautiful B&B, very relaxing outdoor seating on the rear porch overlooking the bay, beautiful sunsets, the rooms were very nice with comfortable beds, nice area to do morning and evening walks, close to shopping. Breakfast very good and staff very friendly and accommodating.|The only bummer was that the rear yard area was under construction and didn't allow access to the beach area on the bay.|I would highly recommend this B&B

Great stay! Affordable and wonderful accommodations right on the bay, very very nice rooms, yummy breakfast, and a coffee tray delivered right to your door in the morning! Mother daughter trip was a wonderful time. We loved the back porch views. Will stay here again!

We stayed one night at Emma's and wished we had time to stay longer. Beautiful house with a breathtaking view of the bay!! The hosts were so nice and the service was excellent! We stayed in the Betty Annette room and enjoyed a perfect view on the veranda outside. The breakfast was exceptional and more than we could eat. I highly recommend this to anyone needing a break from the fast paced rubber stamp hotel. I felt at home!

Nice relaxing atmosphere. I'd come here for the French toast that they serve for breakfast if nothing else. Several great local restaurants.

I just called to inquire about the Inn accepting a small dog, a service animal trained to assist the hard of hearing. The woman who answered said no. Rejecting service dogs is not good business.

We had a wonderful stay at Emma's Bay House. Our room overlooked the bay. Great host. Love Fairhope.

We just spent an amazing weekend at Emma's Bay House and can't wait to return again. The pictures don't do it justice. Our room was a beautiful, immensely comfortable, well appointed suite overlooking Mobile Bay. Although we had come to Fairhope with the intention of spending our time wandering the town, we spent most of our time in our room. It was just so cosy and relaxing! The breakfasts were delicious and served in a charming sun room. The hostesses were friendly and helpful. I can't imagine a better experience. This will be our annual anniversary get away!

Absolutely atrocious customer service! I called and spoke with owners daughter about reserving a party for my husbands 40th birthday party. She was extremely rude and told me they did not do catering even though their website states "they have catering down to an art" she then preceded to tell me it was too stressful for them. This rude and unhelpful woman than preceded to yell at me and state " I need your email address to send you information so you can decide for yourself!" Probably some of the worst customer service experience I have encountered in my entire life. I willl talke my hard earned money and go to the grande hotel in point clear. Wow, what a joke. Do yourself a favor, stay far, far away! ps- funny how the only 5 star reviews written were exactly the same and two years apart.

Beautiful, clean, quiet, perfect location close to downtown Fairhope! Mrs. Betty, her daughter and son-in-law were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed for a short weekend and enjoyed every minute. The breakfast both mornings were 5 star restaurant quality, truly delicious! We originally planned for our 2 children, ages 6 and 3 to stay with us, which I called to see if they would allow and they were fine with (their website says 13 and up). We ended up sending our kids to stay with in-laws down the road which allowed a much more relaxing trip for my husband and I, but I definitely appreciated them making the exception to allow them to stay, if we needed them to. This is a great place to unwind and really relax, leave the city behind.

What a nice place, great view and great owner! Stay in the Betty room upstairs for the best view of Mobile Bay. It's so close to downtown Fairhope that you can walk to everything. I didn't eat the breakfast as I'm watching what I eat but they looked great. I highly recommend it!
