Widely regarded as one of Tromsø's best fine dining restaurants. I was graciously seated at a full table despite dining solo. I began with a Summercello (165 NOK), followed by the 9-course dinner menu (1,395 NOK) with wine pairing (1,385 NOK).
The tasting menu featured a wide range of dishes, including ham, salmon, seafood soup, a fish course, reindeer steak, and multiple desserts. The meal was a leisurely affair, lasting from roughly 18:00 to 22:00. The wine selection was superb. One important note for visitors: in Norway, wine pairing typically means a full glass per course, which is considerably more than in many other countries. Nine full glasses of wine may be more than most East Asian diners are accustomed to, so it's worth carefully considering your alcohol tolerance before ordering. While I would have appreciated a heads-up from the staff, it's likely they assumed that diners are familiar with local drinking customs.
Service was professional and attentive, though somewhat reserved; most staff spoke fluent English. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the décor was elegant. Pricing is on the higher end by Tromsø standards, comparable to Restaurant Smak, the city's other well-known fine dining restaurant. Online reservations are available for international visitors via a smooth and user-friendly system, and advance booking is strongly recommended—the restaurant appeared fully booked for dinner on the day of my visit.
Overall, a refined and memorable dining experience, provided the budget allows.
