Emmeli's Cake

We recently asked Emmeli’s Cake if they could make a zucchini cake with whipped cream frosting—something special we had at our wedding 10 years ago in another state. Even though it wasn’t on the menu, they said yes, and absolutely nailed it! The cake was unbelievably delicious—moist, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweet. We served it at a party for 30 guests and received so many compliments. Everyone kept asking where it was from! Not only was the cake incredible, but we also loved the enthusiasm and excitement he had in creating something unique for us. It truly felt like a collaboration, and we can’t wait to order again. Thank you for bringing such a meaningful flavor back to life—better than we even remembered!

I ordered a custom cake for a bachelorette/ wedding weekend and I couldn’t be happier. I was coming from out of state and she was extremely accommodating, captured our vision based on inspiration photos and the cake was excellent!

Emmeli did such a great job on our wedding cake! It looked incredible with the frosting flowers on our 3-tier cake. The lemon-blueberry flavor was so delicious!! It was the best cake I’ve ever had. 😄

Emmeli’s Cake did my wedding cake (and cake pops) for my October 2022 wedding. It ruined all future cake for my husband. We got several cakes afterward because he was craving it, and every time he was so disappointed because “it’s not nearly as good as our wedding cake was.” The cake was also beautiful. We decided to get one for our anniversary this year, and when I reached out she let me know one year anniversary cakes are free of charge. She was super flexible with us about a pickup date and time (newborn baby makes it a bit tricky!) and this cake is just as beautiful and will surely be just as delicious. Thank you so much 🩵

Emmeli was wonderful to work with and her cakes are as beautiful as they are tasty. I ordered red velvet with cream filling and pistachio with pistachio cream filling cupcakes for my wedding back in May, and my guests couldn’t get enough. The frosting was so light and fluffy and the cake was moist and flavorful. Her frosting artwork was amazing. I didn’t really have much as far as specifications, and she showed up with several boxes of cupcakes , each with unique floral designs. Emmeli is a true artist. 100% recommend.

We used Emmeli's Cake for our wedding cake, which was DELICIOUS!! We had a 3-tier cake of all different flavors and we were not disappointed.

Stellar service and amazing taste! She took on the challenge of a pyramid cake for my partner's 25th birthday and not only did she capture the vision perfectly it was DELICIOUS. The chocolate cake and ganache were creamy and the outer shell melted in the mouth. It had everybody at the party gushing about the flavor! 10/10 would recommend! This is the best place to get a cake, period. I usually get a Cheesecake or 2 over the holidays and all the family loves them. Emmeli can make anything, and I always love what she makes. Stop buying from chain supermarkets that use cheap ingredients and get a hand-crafted cake of your custom desires!

Emmeli's Cake was an amazing choice for my Mother's 75th birthday party. She went above and beyond to make a beautiful cake for our special event. She even did this on the day, after coming home from her family vacation. Everybody commented on it and enjoyed it. I will definitely use this place if I ever need it for another occasion.

Part of any business that works with the public is good customer service. One could be selling the best coffee, enchiladas, ribeye steak or cake, but if your customer service is not on top of its game your business will most likely fail. I was in need of a birthday cake (12 days out). I had heard a positive word about Emmeli's from a respected source and went online to get more information. I did find a modest website with some information, but I had more question. Unfortunately, there was was no phone number on their website, no problem, I left a message on their website with a description of what I was hoping to order with a request that they call me back. On the website, it stated they were open the following day, until 3:00....great, if I don't hear from them, I will drop by the following day, which I did. I arrived around 11:20 am, the parking lot was barren and looked like it was in need of maintenance. Upon approaching the door I realized the lights were out and nobody home. It appears to be after the fact, but as a courtesy to your past customers, you could have posted a sign on the door that states, "Family emergency, closed early - see you tomorrow" or maybe, "GONE OUT OF BUSINESS".

Highest recommendations!! The taste and the customer service were unmatched!! My family flew from Fl to Boise for a wedding. We ordered cupcakes from Emmeli for the bridal shower. The cupcakes were beautiful and my aunt (and the bride) LOVED them! Emmeli created the exact design that I requested. The only guidance she had was a photo from Pinterest. Emmeli walked in the rain to make sure we received our order. She ensured the cupcakes were covered and protected. She went above and beyond to make sure we got the cupcakes at the restaurant and was so patient and kind!! I will be sure to order form here again when I return to Idaho for the baby shower.

I was able to order a cake last minute, the week of Christmas, online through the website and email (my favorite way to do things) I put in my request hoping they could do it, received an enthusiastic response very quickly, and had a price and cake ordered by EOD. I picked it up on my chosen day and time- that's so nice and it was exactly what I had wanted. I sent a photo for reference and they matched it perfectly. And finally, it was fricking delicious. I did spend a little more than I had originally wanted to but I must admit, it was worth every penny and I can't wait for another reason to needto order an expensive, beautiful, delicious cake.

We wanted a cute little cake made for our 2 year olds birthday. She had a sad COVID non party day, so we wanted it to be special. Her favorite thing in the world is this ratty little snow leopard toy. So we had it designed around that favorite. The figurine on top is SO cute. To be honest it doesn't look exactly like her stuffed animal, but it's pretty good. I wasn't thrilled with the black and white frosting though. I wish it would have been more colorful. It was a cocoa chiffon cake with raspberry mousse filling and chocolate chunks. Unfortunately the cake itself was very dry. Not sure if it dries out from refrigeration or if it was the cake itself. The mousse was good. Creamy and light. I'm not sure what the frosting was on the outside. It sort of tasted like a really light, whipped buttercream? It was alright. We were happy to pay the expensive price for the Joy it brought our kid. But the cost didn't really match the taste.

Beautiful cupcakes delivered to my Boise State student for her birthday. Emmeli's was great to work with, and she created lemon-vanilla cupcakes with strawberry and raspberry mouse frosting with gold sprinkle accent. Exquisite!

Beautiful, affordable, delicious, and totally custom cakes! Emmeli emailed with me directly helping me make the perfect cake for my dads birthday. I live in SF and can't be home in Boise to celebrate with him. She helped me pick specific flavors of cake, filling, and cream that he would like; devils good cake with blueberry cream filling. I love the cool modern design of the cake that was beautiful but not too feminine for my dad. My mom said it was the best came she has ever tasted. They lived close enough for delivery. I only wish I could try it myself! have to order myself a cake when I'm home next!

I love Emmeli's cakes! She makes the BEST cheesecakes I've ever had, and they're very reasonably priced. Her bakery is open by appointment only, and it's a cute little place. If I ever need a specialty cake, this is where I go. It's super easy to place orders via email or her website too, and picking up is easy (just knock LOUD because it seems like she's the only one there and she's usually baking/not in the front area). Overall, it's so nice to see places like this still exist through all of Boise's frustrating growing pains. I will definitely come here to support a genuine small business when they're becoming a rarity in our hijacked city.

Cake looked decent but tasted horrible. Every layer was inexcusably over-baked and very dry. Also, the flavor was pretty mild and quite disappointing. There is absolutely no excuse for an (even minimally experienced) baker to deliver such a blatantly extremely over-baked caked to a paying customer. Everyone ate only a few bites and we ended up throwing away a nearly $100 cake. Customer service is horrendous. Instead of offering a refund, Emmeli offered to bake a replacement cake, after the fact. Which, considering it was for a birthday party, is beyond ridiculous. After we declined the useless offering of a replacement birthday cake well after the birthday party, Emmeli very greedily offered only a 30% refund. Would not get another cake from this baker. Can't recommend Flour Child, only a few miles up Overland, highly enough instead- they make the most phenomenal cakes in Boise. The only reason we didn't get a cake from Flour Child is because they were booked so far in advance. Or even Amaru, not as good as Flour Child, but far better then Emmeli.

Emmeli's Cake is a different take on a traditional cake. She takes her skill to the next level by creating each cake with 5 layers of mousse stacked between 6 layers of cake. The best thing is you can choose your own favorite flavors as she doesn't have a set menu. The best way to contact her is through email as her store is through special order only. Although she doesn't do shaped cakes, she does provide a lot of different ways to decorate your cake. Bonus: she makes more than cakes too like cheesecake, creme brûlée, mousse, or even your own family recipe! She uses fresh ingredients rather than shelf stable materials which creates a flavorful experience. So awesome

Emmeli made an amazing Sesame Street birthday cake for our 2 year old's birthday party. She was so easy to work with- we did everything over email (so convenient!) and I had no concerns because she communicates so clearly. I could tell she understood what we wanted and she provided helpful tips on size, flavors etc. I only wish we had taken a picture of the cake sliced into because the six rainbow layers were gorgeous!!! There was a collective gasp when we cut into it- absolutely stunning. She will be my go-to for all future cakes! Can't recommend highly enough!

Was searching for a bakery which can make a custom cake (dark chocolate raspberry macaron cake). She came back with a delicious sounding rendition. When we asked if we can stick to the original request, she did so with no hesitation. It came out perfect, the subtle sweetness paired well with the tart fruit. Perfect for what we're looking for and exceeded our expectations. All this was done quickly and affordable. Next time we need some baked good for a special occasion or just a sweet treat. This will be our first stop.

My husband surprised me with two small birthday cakes this year as we celebrated at home. This was our first time trying Emmeli's and we are both blown away. Little did my husband know how beautiful the cakes would turn out, two adorable 4" cakes that were just as delicious as they were beautiful. He ordered the carrot cake and then a Lemon with mixed berry cake. It's so hard for me to pick a favorite but the cakes were moist and it was clear that all of the ingredients were fresh. Emmeli's passion comes through in all aspects of the cake and now I'm plotting ways to order more goodies from her!

I went to Emmeli's for a custom cheesecake for my SO's birthday. Her favorite flavor combination is raspberry lemon. After checking her flavor guide page on her website I figured it would be an easy job for her, and it was! The order process was quick, easy, and efficient. The cheesecake was seriously so good, and her pricing makes it all the more desirable, I will definitely be ordering more from Emmeli's soon!

Emmeli is the best. I found her at a wedding show and ended up hiring her to do my wedding cake. She let me pick any flavors we wanted, we did 3-tiers with 3 flavors...she even did an almond poppyseed for my hubby. It was beautiful and absolutely delicious, the best part was the anniversary cake that she included in her fee 1 year later in the same style and flavor. It was so special! Highly recommend, she is very sweet and easy to work with!

I picked up an Angel food cake and it was fresh out of the oven with a yummy side of fresh raspberries at my husbands birthday request and he loved it!

Incredibly luscious carrot cake/delicate icing/exquisite and unique pastry design! I ordered a 6" carrot cake for a Hawaiian shirt-themed party - and was not disappointed; in fact, very pleasantly overwhelmed by the outstanding quality... the. CAKE was, in short, delicious! ALL my guests exclaimed/raved AND some even asked for seconds... not a crumb or smudge of frosting left. YES, a carrot cake that truly melted in your mouth... GOAT

Emmeli made our wedding cake and it was exactly how I envisioned it. She was so accommodating and a true pleasure to work with. She helped to make our special day truly amazing. The cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted INCREDIBLE! So many guests commented on how awesome the cake looked and tasted. UNBELIEVABLE!! Our birthday cake was just beyond amazing. Emmeli is a true artist, and the cake was so, so tasty. I am not exaggerating when I say that at the party, we started planning another party just so that we could order another cake from Emmeli's. More than 5 stars!!!

Absolutely a delicious cake and decorated exactly how I imagined. Emmeli's communication was wonderful, as I was ordering the cake from California for my daughter's nursing graduation from Boise State. I would highly recommend her to anyone wanting a delicious cake!!

Our family has ordered many cakes from Emmeli- birthdays, graduation, wedding...all have been amazingly delicious. Her French macarons are addictive. If I could give Emmeli more than 5 stars I would.

Emmeli made my wedding cakes and they were spectacular! First of all, they were the tastiest I have ever had and we had so many guest complimenting them. Our main cake was lemon with lemon or vanilla mousse ( I forget which was decided on and my husband and I only had a chance to taste it at the tasting meeting because lots of guests ended up having multiple pieces so we ran out) and the grooms cake was chocolate with chocolate mouse. My husband wanted his cake to replicate a shield from the Zelda games and it turned out great! My mother ended up having her make a chocolate and raspberry birthday cake made for me with fondant cats on it. The cake was delicious and adorable! I can't express enough how wonderful her cakes are and communication was clear and she was very easy to work with! I'd give ten stars if I could!

As a group of friends, a dozen of us, give or take, went to Emmel's Cakes to take a cupcake class. We all had a great time& learned a lot about cupcakes!
