Staff are in my experience, the Empire Hotel in Rockhampton was an absolute joke. The staff were so rude it felt like they genuinely didn’t give a damn about anyone staying there. Every time I asked a simple question, I got attitude, sarcasm, or straight-up couldn’t-be-bothered vibes. Honestly, it felt like they were going out of their way to make the stay unpleasant. I’ve never dealt with a team that acted this unprofessional. For what they charge, the least they could do is not treat guests like garbage. Based on my stay, I wouldn’t go back if it was free. Total waste of money and patience. Never again.

Recently stayed at Hotel Empire in Rockhampton and was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience. Located right on the Fitzroy River, the hotel offers stunning views and easy access to local attractions, restaurants, and shops. The riverside walkway is just outside the door and perfect for a morning stroll or evening wind-down.||The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout my stay. My room was clean, modern, and spacious with a very comfortable bed, large TV, and a well-appointed bathroom. The balcony overlooking the river was a highlight perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or evening drink.

Okay location, just beside the river, and it’s close to rockhampton city centre, with Coles and target inside. It’s also above Pacino, an exceptional Italian place. Though since it’s near the river, during the night, the birds would be on the trees along the river, I hear their chirping noises all night, quite disturbing. The room had many amenities like induction stove, washing machine and dryer, fridge with freezer, pots and pans, cups, wine glasses, plates, bowls, TVs, iron, toaster, water kettle, cutleries, kitchen needs like tongs..etc and lastly, dish washer. Hotel guests had access to pool and gym. The room had big balcony and big living room, good to have people around or have a party.

My stay at the Empire Apartment Hotel was ruined by the blonde manager with the gap in her teeth who was shockingly rude and unprofessional. She rolled her eyes, snapped at basic questions, made me wait 25 minutes while chatting with a colleague, then snatched my card and barked “Here, go” like I was wasting her time. Every interaction with her was condescending and hostile; one openly contemptuous manager destroyed what could have been a decent stay. Avoid this place, plenty of friendlier options nearby. 1 star.

In most respects this is an excellent hotel. It is well located in Rockhampton's CBD. My spacious and quiet apartment had river views. Staff members I encountered were helpful and friendly. I could park easily. The well furnished and well maintained apartment had a wide range of facilities, including a washing machine and dryer. It was very clean. My bed was comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was good. There was a well equipped small kitchen. Food in the hotel's cafe and restaurant was of a high standard. I only have a couple of criticisms. There was no safe, which is most unusual in a four star hotel. The wifi signal was quite weak and sometimes briefly dropped out. I would stay here again.

Modern rooms with great kitchen and laundry. Good location, easy walking into town for shopping and dining out. One slight negative, we’d booked a deluxe city view room thru Booking.com and didn’t feel our location was at all deluxe, in fact was very disappointing, level 2 sW corner. It does seem to cater to business travellers more than tourist.

Our association had a conference nearby and many members were booked through the Empire Hotel; after the 2 day conference, my husband joined me and we stayed for a few days doing some sightseeing in the area. The Empire Hotel is fabulous, lovely large comfortable rooms, overlooking the Fitzroy River; comfy beds, high quality linen and a mini kitchen AND dryer and washing machine. The charge-back system with the Coffee Club is super-handy; gym and pool are great, and cleaning staff replace towels and service the room regularly.

Had a great spacious room, beds were long enough to fit people over 190 cm. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Parking was sufficiently available.
