I loved the pleasant experience going to this coffee shop. My fiance made a film here in college 5 years ago. The photography on the walls was pretty. Staff was kind and remembered her.

Google
My very favorite coffee shop in Superior. It has a lovely, cozy atmosphere with lots of seating and beautiful, rotating artwork, the baristas are friendly, and the drinks are delicious.

Google
My coffee was old and luke warm, it was the last of the coffee in the bottom of the carafe. It tasted like crap. When I asked for a fresh coffee they informed me that I would have to pay for new cup of coffee. The coffee & the customer service is terrible. You’re better off going to a different coffee shop.

Google
I don't know what brand of Chai they use, but it was awful. I couldn't even finish my drink. They forgot to make one of our drinks so we had to wait for them to make it. Atmosphere was OK and the art on the wall was gorgeous.

Google
Really, chill spot for a great cup of coffee and a sandwich. You can hang out and work on your laptop or read. There is plenty of space to sit, and the service was fast and super friendly.

This is an awesome place to get some work done. Wifi is fast and reliable. Very quiet most of the time. Staff were very nice.

Google
Quaint and cute downtown Superior. Lots of options and I love that they have coconut milk!

Google
One of the newer coffee establishments in Superior with a lot of character and much to recommend about it. Personally I enjoy their London Fog. Great artwork gets highlighted here along with plenty for people to see and do. I hope they keep at it. Would definitely write a poem about many of the drinks I've had here.

Yelp
This was such a coffee shop! It was cozy with beautiful photography on the walls and fun gift items. The coffee was delicious and so perfect. Staff were also friendly. We'll definitely come again when we see in the area!

Yelp
Empire Coffee was on a few folks' recommendations for Superior, WI, so I thought I'd give it a try. It was worth the try! It appears as a small shop in the mix of a "Main Street" style line of buildings but once inside, it's spacious and cozy. Today there was a live performing artist playing and singing in the front of the shop. He was great! It added some really decent ambiance to the coffeehouse. I asked the baristas to make a flavored mocha they'd recommend. They served it up and it was delicious. A little nutty and a little sweet! It could have been just a touch hotter, but I'll know to request that next time. There were two baristas and they were both very pleasant and friendly even though they were a little swamped. I'd definitely go back and have another coffee here, and sit in one of the cushioned seats to enjoy the music if that were going on again!

Yelp
We stopped by Empire Coffee on a Saturday morning about 7:45am and it was very quiet. Very few customers yet. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with incredible art and photos on the walls. We ordered an Oat Milk Latte with Pistachio and an Iced Matcha with Oat Milk. My daughter asked for some vanilla to be added as she likes a small amount of sweetness. The barista asked if we had had it before as it does have some sweetness already. We opted to leave out the vanilla and it was delicious. It was slightly grainy, but if you lift your straw just a little it's delicious. We recommend this little cafe if you're in the Superior area and want to support local businesses!

Yelp
Really enjoyed the coffee and the feel of this place. Cool are all around and a fun vibe where you can meet friends of do some work. I will be back again. Oh also lots of free parking all over.

Yelp
We swung by here on our way through. It was busy on a Saturday morning! We tried the Americano and cold brew. Both were delicious--espresso is strong and cold brew is spot-on. My sister also tried their pumpkin biscotti which was good. It's got your typical coffeehouse vibe -- multiple groups hanging out enjoying their coffee and breakfast sandwiches.

Yelp
This might be the best coffee shop ever. Ok, so I've only been here once. But here was the scene: A dude playing low key guitar songs near the front door. Several comfy chairs/couches and tables were listening to him. A table with four people playing cards. A table with a half done puzzle. Two people sitting here not doing the puzzle offered to move when I smiled at them. Cool art on the walls. A friendly staff who seemed to know the locals. Two tip jars to encourage voting on silly things (Is Die Hard a Christmas Move? I've never seen it!!) And my crew was very very pleased with our drinks. I had a great classic latte. Teen one had a latte with some flavor. Two two had a matcha latte and was VERY happy. Tween had...oh I forget already. Maybe a hot chocolate. This place made me feel like I could live in Wisconsin.

Yelp
My absolute favorite coffee shop! I have a severe gluten allergy and they're always super careful to sanitize the prep stations and make sure there's no cross contamination! We love the baristas and how kind they are about when my toddler is with me. They make sure to make his drinks "kid" temperature so we never have to worry about him getting burnt like at other coffee shops. Highly recommend the Triumvirate sandwich with an americano! Their espresso is beautifully balanced and is dialed in by hand, unlike the automatic espresso machines that the other local places on tower avenue have. The live music is great, supporting local artists. And the owner is my absolute favorite person to see! She always greets us excitedly and goes out of her way to make sure we have a great experience!

Yelp
Good morning! I love #LocalCoffee and Empire Coffee is a great example. This cute coffee shop in Superior has delicious coffee, wifi and power outlets out the wazoo. I spent about three hours hear on a weekday, getting some work done and doing my wake up routine that includes coffee. Friendly barista, comfy seating and lots of caffeine. There is street parking if you can find it. [Review 17897 overall - 202 in Wisconsin - 1418 of 2022.]

Yelp
Big open space with wonderful coffee! I got a hot mocha with dark chocolate and I throughly enjoyed. The crowd was quiet but fun. People are able to study, place games, meet in groups, by local art, and enjoy a great drink or small pastry. Parking is street parking only, but we found space right in front. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly

Yelp
Easily accessible. Friendly staff. Nice and clean environment. Most importantly the drinks are good.

Yelp
Happy Employees, Happy Food & Great Coffee My very unexplored (food wise) partner says " I need to start ordering the vegetarian options more" while monching my flatbread. Quality & Comfort

Yelp
This is the best coffee shop in Superior. Walked down from our hotel to grab a coffee to go, but had to stay longer to view the art. Seriously cool coffee shop. What was even better is the service. The barista helped me figure out what milk would be best for being a diabetic. She went the extra mile and it was so nice to not worry about how many sugars were in my coffee. Definitely stop at this place. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
An early morning start in beautiful Duluth/Superior and found this wonderful downtown coffeehouse. Greta will take fantastic care of your cafe mocha in case you're asking. In fact, the experience is so nice here I'm looking to change my name, start another family and open a general store next door. Just saying. :)

Yelp
Best espresso in the twin ports! Every time I visit the staff is friendly and seems happy to see me. They usually have a puzzle out for customers to work on while they wait. Clean and open space, beautiful building.

Yelp
I went here when they first opened and asked for a salad, they didn't have romaine lettuce yet but one of the staff members ran and picked some up for me. I've always had incredibly friendly service. I enjoy going here to read or work on projects. The atmosphere ranges from cheery and talkative to being a quieter, softer vibe depending on the day of the week and how busy they are. I love getting the dirty chai latte with oat milk, a london fog, and many of their teas are great. I will continue to go here as long as they are open.

Yelp
Lots of seating, coffee, food, and good art to look at on the walls. Just what one needs

Yelp
This is such a sweet place! Wonderful drinks and positive atmosphere. We stopped here to chill while wandering around Superior and it didn't disappoint!

Yelp
I wanted to try this place since I drive by it so often. I came in to do homework for a few hours. I loved how big the place was, and how many tables there were, but still being spaced out. A lot of the tables were dirty from the previous customers, but the Barista working wiped one down for me once I asked. It is a different atmosphere compared to other shops I've been to, but nothing bad! Being an art student, I loved the photography on the walls and spent a bit of time admiring them all.

Yelp
This coffee shop has great food, great prices, and friendly staff. A friend of mine and I had stopped in for lunch he had the Italia sandwich and I had the apple walnut salad. Both were very tasty. I like that this place is wheelchair accessible. I will say the store itself is awkwardly spacious. Hope they fill up the emptiness with more local art or place tables and chairs differently.

Yelp
I don't ever write reviews and always try to give business the benefit of the doubt, but after today I will not be going back to this coffee shop. Ive worked as a barista so I understand customer service and I know coffee. I've always gotten a oat milk latte from here and honestly they were normally pretty good. Ive been treated rudely before by the same gal, but ignore it cus I've thought "maybe she's having a bad day". Today I spent over $7 on a medium vanilla oat milk latte. I don't want to be mean or rude, but it literally was the grossest latte I've ever had. I know oat milk lattes and this drink had a little foam and was black. I also was with someone else and they said their drink tasted bad too cus I wanted to make sure it wasn't just me. So we went up to the employee which, from what I was told is the manager. I very nicely told her something didn't taste right. I shared I've had lattes here before and they've been good but this is really gross. Showed her my cup and said its not as creamy as it should be and it's black. I tried to be kind because again, I was a barista, I understand. She just starred at me and proceeded to say "oat milk lattes aren't supposed to be creamy." She Didn't offer to remake it or anything. Said it was the new milk they have... it was really awkward and honesty I was super annoyed and didn't know what to say after that interaction. If someone pays over $7 for a coffee drink and tell you it's gross, it's not personal and you should do something about it, not make excuses about the milk. This isn't the first confrontation I've had with this same gal, she's sometimes nice and then other times rude. I want to support small businesses but this is a problem. I'm just not going to be spending my money there anymore when I could go to a Starbucks and get something good for the same Price!

Yelp
Best coffee in the Twin Ports. Awesome samdwiches and flatbreads, beautiful shop in historic Superior building. Rotating selection of local art to view and purchase.

Yelp
Customer service. Coffee was great. very rude staff. I complained that I bought a large cappuccino and it was only half full the other half was foam. So I went up and said excuse me miss I was curious if you could add some more coffee because it was literally half full at most. At the time two woman were working and the youngest one said in somewhat a rude remark "that's how a cappuccino is suppose to be made" I replied " never have I been to a coffee place that you buy a large coffee and it comes half filled". She then made a snotty remark"we'll where do you get your coffee from" and acted like I have never had coffee in my life. Again this is coming from what appears to be a young female teen Telling me that I don't know what a cappuccino is when I Simply wanted to amount of coffee I paid for. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Very rude. Not friendly what so ever. The opposite of what a coffee shop should be. (Warm, friendly, inviting)

Yelp
Very nice staff, delicious coffee, great alternative milk selection (almond, soy and coconut) and nice selection of baked goods and gluten free baked goods. Staff was great at checking for allergies. Nice food menu too. Only complaint, To go salad was a little skimpy.

Yelp
Yummy coffee. Cute space! I love coming here to study or to get together with friends. Staff is super friendly! Pricing is probably what you'd find at other local coffee shops. They have games at various tables too! It's wonderful!

Jeff H.

Yelp
Mostly nice coffee shop. Nice art work on the walls (that you can purchase). A variety of coffee and sodas. Prices seemed reasonable for beverages. The service was ok; could have been friendlier. No vegan bakery options were available when we were there. Pretty loud due to the open area and hard floors. There's a grand piano, so that's very nice. Location and parking are convenient.

Yelp
I am a local and I am happy to entrust my coffee orders to the staff at Empire. They are very friendly and always happy to serve me. Although I'm usually in and out, this is a great place to study, meet up with friends or business partners, or even work on a puzzle! Great place, great people!

Yelp
A friend and I tried Empire Coffee today. The latte and smoothies were terrific, as was the service. The owners were there to welcome us to their gleaming, warm, charming, historic establishment. It was a rainy day, and so relaxing to look out the full-height front windows to the raindrops on the glass, and the views of landmark Superior buildings. Good job, Empire, on giving us a new great place to enjoy in downtown.

Yelp
A very snuggly coffeehouse. The staff were incredibly friendly and made great conversation. They have incredible food and I realluly enjoyed their espresso. 10/10 would go again not only to support this amazing local coffee business but to enjoy a good chat and a cup of joe.

Yelp
The best espresso! The environment is classy and comfortable. Every time I've gone in I've been greeted and received exceptional service. What a great addition to Superior.
