A famous empanadas recommended in various social medias. It’s worth to try. As a tourist, I found that the taste is not different.

Do you ever go someplace, look around and think to yourself that nothing has changed here since they first opened? Well, that's what stepping into Emporio Zunino feels like. Tourists and locals elbow to elbow at the counters all around, delicious empanadas (obligingly cut in half by the kind server who had so many in line behind us), a delicious peach juice and nostalgia for days. The cheese empanada was really delicious - hot and flaky. The empanada de pino nearly burnt my mouth with the piping hot filling. Pay at the counter and give your receipt to the man and enjoy the experience.

Solid and famous choice for your empanada craving. They offer a pino, a cheese, and even have an pizza option. There's also fresh squeezed juice available if you want a drink. You go to an ordering booth to place your order and pay, then give your receipt to one of the guys behind the empanada counter who bring you your meal. Once that's handed off, nobody will check on you anymore. There are no restrooms here and it's a pretty small place given the popularity and crowd.

Google
famous empanada place. comparing these to brasilian pastels the flavor is lacking. git the queso version here and cheese was bland and the baked vs fried added little flavor. service was great and I appreciatedthe old school atmosphere but I guess chilean empanadas are not for me.

The shop located at the corner of central Mercado. Good bread and pino. Nice for quick breakfast. However, this is not the place for coffee. It is instant coffee.

😂 Why all these people go here? Visiting this place today. Ate a empanada pino. Taste = 0. I was expecting much more than that. Have been eating empanadas in many countries. I can say that these are far better than these ones. Don't go here, there are better places b

Stopped in to get some empanadas for a quick lunch while exploring the area. We split a cheese one and a pino. Both were very tasty. The cheese one was in more of a flaky, almost puff pastry type dough, while the pino one was in a denser more bready type dough. Would recommend both, but just be aware that you need to be careful eating the pino one, as it has olives in it that still contain pits. Definitely a fun place for an inexpensive, quick, but tasty bite.

There is alot of history in this empanada spot. The queso empanada was filled with Andean type cheese and the pino was very oniony with olives and egg. Very nice.

Yelp
Amazing empanadas in Santiago! They make them fresh all day long, you can see everyone working in the kitchen behind the glass. You buy your ticket at the first counter and pick up your empanadas at the next counter. They pack them to go but you can eat at the standing counters too.

There are no restrooms here and it's a pretty small place given the popularity and crowd.

Yelp
We heard this is a must, and while I am not sure it's the best Chilean style empanadas, it's definitely one of the best. It's a bit hectic there. A couple registers. Walk up, tell them what you want, pay, get a ticket, then walk over to the correct counter, give them the ticket, and wait for the food. We chose the pino (beef with onion) and queso (cheese), and both were excellent. My US issued Visa was declined, so we paid with cash. We then ate, standing, at a counter, with all of the commotion around us. Not the most romantic meal. We probably wouldn't come back, but we're glad that we tried it.

Yelp
Serves the best empanadas in Santiago. Been around for well over 100 years, those guys know what they're doing. They serve so many each day that they are the freshest you can find, they haven't been sitting under a glass cabinet for hours. As you walk into Emporio Zunino you have to go to one of two booths to order and pay for your empanadas and other soft drinks (bebidas). Once you have your ticket you go to the central counter and hand your ticket to the servers who ask if you want to eat in or out and wrap your empanadas accordingly. The best option is to eat at one of the standing benches and watch the busy street go by. Emporio Zunino also sell fresh pasta and high quality cheeses.

Yelp
Walked through la plaza de armas and came to this place for a quick lunch. Super quick, cheap, and good. My whole family loved the empanadas we got. Not a sit down kind of joint though! Just get your empanadas to go and bounce because this place gets crowded.

Yelp
I had see what the commotion was when I saw the long line out the door! The beef empanadas are only $2 USD and they are hot and filling! The line moved fast and I was glad I waited. You pay first and then you bring your receipt to claim your food. I ate a lot of empanadas while in Chile and these were some of the best :)
