A nice place in NJ, not that crowded, we were in December around 7PM and nobody was there. You can get a wonderful view to Manhattan skyline and the memorial is build with a view where you could saw the Twins Towers years ago. It is not a popular place but I definitely recommend to go and check it out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Empty Sky Memorial is a must-see when visiting NJ/NY. The design is stunning — I love the reflections, clean lines, and geometric nature of the structure. It’s also an incredible photo spot with superb views of the NYC skyline. Parking is free and fairly easy, though it can get crowded on weekends and peak times. Truly a beautifully built and meaningful place that leaves an impression.

I went last year on 9/11/ 2024 and they had organized parking. It was beautiful, they had a very lovely ceremony and it was definitely something to witness being there. I got there kind of early around 4-5pm and waited and walked around the Liberty Park area until it got to dusk where they started to host the ceremony and the memorial lights in NYC started to turn on.

As a retired firefighter, visiting the Empty Sky Memorial was a powerful experience. Walking up, you first take in the history around you, the train, the skyline and then the memorial comes into view. Absolutely breathtaking. It brought me right back to where I was on that September 11th morning, and reminded me of how life changed forever after the attacks. This memorial honors the victims and the heroes we lost in such a beautiful, moving way. Don’t skip this one. Parking was simple with a smartphone, and as a bonus, I was able to get a ticket to see Lady Liberty up close.

A moving and powerful tribute to the victims of 9/11 from New Jersey. The design of the twin walls creates a direct line of sight to Ground Zero, making the experience very emotional and meaningful. The memorial is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and offers stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. A must-visit for reflection and remembrance.

Great spot to hit up when visiting the Liberty state park. There is short term free parking right by it, great view of the city, and great walking area. It's also close to the ferry.

Visiting the Empty Sky Memorial in Liberty State Park was a moving experience. The twin walls, aligned with the former World Trade Center towers, create a powerful sense of perspective and remembrance. It’s a beautifully designed memorial that leaves a lasting impression.

Yelp
Nothing much. Just gave a 5 star because it is a memorial of the people who have fallen from the muslim extremists.

Yelp
Amazing spot. 1) One of the best 9/11 Memorial in NJ. The 9/11 Memorial at Weehawken, NJ is also amazing. But, the views of NYC, Jersey City and Liberty State Park makes this place a must visit. What an amazing spot. Great to relax on a nice day.

Yelp
First time visiting Empty Sky Memorial when it's not September 11- still a humbling and profound experience. This 9/11 Memorial honors the life's lost of New Jerseyans. In front of the Memorial are the steel beams from the Twin Towers. You walk through the slanted twin walls with engraved names that face towards Ground Zero to a beautiful NY skyline with the One World Trade Center. I have been here several times during the September 11 Memorial Services- Never Forget! Located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City. Parking on site. Open 24/7

Yelp
Cool spot to see and you can actually take a ferry to Manhattan if you wanted to. Empty Sky Memorial looks across the Hudson where you can see a few monuments dedicated to the World Trade. There's also an abandoned railyard, some great views of lower Manhattan, and free 2 hour parking for visitors (Anymore and you'll probably go to ferry parking for a few dollars for all day, which is way cheaper than Manhattan). You get a great view and two rectangular stainless steel walls on granite, which looks great and honors the 749 victims from New Jersey on what happened on 9/11. It's a very tasteful memorial reminiscent of the Vietnam War memorial in DC. Definitely a great spot to visit if you're entering NYC from the New Jersey side, or if you take the $7 one way ferry from southern Manhattan. Overall, beautiful and underrated spot to view NYC from. Can't really complain about it.

Yelp
Parking closed at 9:45pm on a regular night. On Sept 11, parking was open outside the usual lot and free. They announced closing the park at 11pm (usually 10pm).

Yelp
Very well done, makes you reflect. Logistics is tough if you do public transportation. We used the light rail and had to walk over a mile to get there and then walk back. If you have a car there is a parking lot.

Yelp
Well executed architectural memorial to those innocent victims murdered on 11 September 2001 by Islamic fundamentalist ideologue terrorists. Visually impressive and well thought out, this was our first visit here and it was long overdue. Used the opportunity to continue visiting nearby Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. The photos don't capture fully the visual impression. Also showcases magnificent views of Manhattan and Governors Island. Highly recommended. Mahalo for reading my review.

Yelp
It is the official New Jersey September 11 memorial to the state's victims of the September 11 attacks on the United States. It is located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City at the bank of Hudson River across from the World Trade Center site. the two walls of this memorial stretch 208 feet & 10 inches long (the exact width of the World Trade Center towers). The name of each of the 746 victims is etched in stainless steel in these walls. The goal of this memorial is to "reflect the legacies of those whose lives were lost, that their unfulfilled dreams and hopes may result in a better future for society. The name of the memorial is taken from the Bruce Springsteen song "Empty Sky", which is about the "empty sky" where the towers once stood. An iron beam from twin towers is also kept here. At the time of sunset or sunrise, there is an arch of sunrays reflected between two walls and its really cool. If you are going to see the statue of liberty, don't forget to make a pit stop. its totally worth it. also, you can have a great Manhattan view from here. Parking: Parking is free for 2 hours just near to this memorial. another option is paid to park in the parking lot of Liberty ferry services.

Yelp
On this gorgeous Sunday, my partner and I revisited this memorial located at Liberty State Park and dedicated to the 746 NJ state's victims killed on September 11 at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Shanksville, PA. Directed towards Ground Zero, two 30-foot (9.1 m)-high rectangular towers transect a "gently sloped mound anchored by a granite path. The name for the memorial is taken from the Bruce Springsteen's song "Empty Sky" where the towers once stood. This is a must visit for anyone in the area. The park itself also offers great views of Lower Manhattan.

Yelp
Powerful and moving monument to the lives lost to terrorism. Easy to access now that a road replaced the 'stinky bridge' connecting Liberty State Park to downtown.

Yelp
Empty Sky Memorial is the 9/11 tribute in New Jersey. It's located in Liberty State Park. You can walk past when going to see the statue. It doesn't take very long. There are some good views. It's right off Audrey Zapp Drive. It's before you get to the main building. There are two pieces of metal from the World Trade Center. It also has two columns with names. The area behind that has some great views of New York. If you're going to the Statue of Liberty from the New Jersey side, be sure to see it. It's something to do while waiting for a ferry to come. This is right off the main road.

Yelp
Located at the northern portion of Liberty State Park it is virtually right across the river from the Freedom Tower. You can park for free in Liberty State Park and walk along the 1.6 mile river boardwalk to the memorial. There are excellent views of lower Manhattan .An alternative is to drive to the memorial. The parking lot is also free and quite large with handicapped parking. The cruise terminal for Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty is just a quarter mile away, as is Liberty Science Center. Liberty State Park has playgrounds and other recreational areas with a great river boardwalk. The 9/11 Memorial is New Jersey's official memorial to the 749 victims who perished in the 9/11 attack. The names of the 749 victims are inscribed on the interior twin brushed stainless steel walls. The length of the wall is equal to one side of the former World Trade Center. Seeing the names and the Freedom Tower is a deeply moving experience, especially if you were directly touched by what happened on 9/11. As you walk along the granite path toward the Hudson river you will eventually see the Freedom Tower at Ground Zero in lower Manhattan. It is spectacular both day and night. At night they often shine two light beams into the air to symbolize the twin towers. If you are in the area for any of the other attractions it is well worth the stop.

Yelp
I love history and to be able to share that with my nephew was a great time. It was cool to walk through and look at the maps, trains, pier and historical information. Definitely a place you should visit.

Yelp
Beautiful memorial! The area next to the memorial offers great views of New York City! There are lots of benches nearby in the shade if we want to sit and relax.

Yelp
Because it's directly across from Manhattan it is hard to find anywhere that offers such crisp, close, and unparalleled views of the capital of the world.

Yelp
It's a Beautiful States park, I been there twice, and the view is wonderful, if you have a boat or take a water taxi from New York you can get to the marina side and it's just walking distance, check it out bring the family take nice pics of Downtown Nyc.

Yelp
9/11 is unforgettable for every NY'er. I find it important to annually go to a memorial site and pay my respects. There is nothing more somber and well done then 1 World Trade but this is a great park. Great view of the city! Cool memorial with plenty of parking! You can easily walk to Liberty State Park and catch a view of lady liberty andEllis Island as well. Unfortunately the day I visited it was unseasonably cold and rainy so I didn't spend as much time as I would've liked. If you're in the area pay tribute.
