Our stay at Engle House was like stepping back into a time when offering hospitality was an art. This historic house has been beautifully preserved and restored with some of today’s additions for comfort and convenience. The rooms are beautifully appointed and immaculate. The decor throughout the house is authentic and tasteful with delightful bits of whimsy here and there. Chris and Scott are gracious hosts who offer guests privacy while always being accessible when needed to help or just chat. Breakfasts are elegantly served, bountiful, and delicious. Any trip to Abilene, for business or pleasure, would be made better by staying at Engle House.

Five stars is not enough to say what is great about the Engle house and our stay there. We are always treated like royalty, given the best service, the most comfortable stay, lots of knowledge about the City of Abilene and the surrounding communities. She provides a special menu for me as I have celiac, and even makes extra food to send home with us for my husband. I know I gave her 5+ Stars last time we stayed there this time I'd like to give her 10+ Stars. thanks for everything. We always have a wonderful experience at the Engle House. We've already made reservations for next year!

Our second stay at Engle House was just as great as the first. We learned even more about the home's history from our host. A relaxing room and breakfast was good! Even had time to enjoy the front porch in the evening after checking out the beautiful rose garden in Eisenhower Park. This trip included a visit to the Eisenhower Presidential Library. So much history to explore in Abilene.

We had a phenomenal two night stay in this exceptionally quality bed and breakfast. We would give it a 200% rating if the rating scale allowed. We stayed in a king bed room with personal bathroom within the room and including a flat screen TV, mini fridge and desk area. Both breakfasts served were so flavorful and well rounded with various fruits also included. Chris spent an unbelievable and greatly appreciated amount of time talking with us each encounter we had. She provided a wealth of information about the history of the bed and breakfast, Abilene and surrounding towns. In those discussions, we learned about many other opportunities and experiences which we decided to add to our stay/travels in and around Abilene. We wouldn't hesitated and look forward to staying at the Engle House Bed and Breakfast again in the future, returning with family and also referring several friends and family. We are so very appreciative for a very wonderful, relaxing and pleasurable stay.

We were so delighted with the Engle House! We stayed while I was working in town and Chris made us feel so at home. While eating breakfast on our first morning, she told us all about the history of the house and the different places that we could visit while in Abilene. Breakfast was delicious and kept us full until dinner! The Lancaster room was beautiful- we had lots of space to spread out and it felt very private and quiet. Chris made sure that we were happy and comfortable. We can’t wait to come and stay again!

We stayed at the Engle House, so that we could visit the Eisenhower Library. Chris was wonderful to us. Our correspondences prior to the trip were informative and addressed quickly.||||Breakfast was great and it provided a good start to the day. Our room was spacious and comfortable.||||Chris and her husband did a terrific job renovating the house. The details in the old structure were intricate and well-restored. It was clear that the house was lovingly restored and maintained. ||||Chris and her husband know the area well, so take advantage of their knowledgeable and ask them questions about restaurants, sites, and about Abilene.||||We truly loved our stay and would definitely return!!!||||Runners: skip the busy route 15 and just go a block to Cedar St. Turn left on it and you will avoid the busy roads except for a block or two. It's a long and flat street.
