Eningu Kalahari Lodge

Eningu Kalahari Lodge is an absolute gem and one of the highlights of our time in Namibia. The lodge offers a perfect balance of comfort, tranquillity, and authentic wilderness experience, and set on the edge of the Kalahari, you get to experience the famous red sand. We loved the wide open landscapes, and an incredible sense of peace, as well as the wonderful walking trails around the lodge. Our accommodation was spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully appointed. The rooms are just a short walk away from the main lodge, so an afternoon nap can be enjoyed without disturbance. The staff truly make Eningu special. Every interaction was warm, genuine, and professional, and we felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. Meals were another highlight—delicious, well-prepared, and generously portioned, enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere with unforgettable Kalahari sunsets as a backdrop. Evenings under the stars were magical, with some of the clearest night skies we’ve ever seen. Whether you’re stopping over on your way through Namibia or planning a longer stay, Eningu Kalahari Lodge is the perfect place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the quiet beauty of the desert. We would return without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Namibia.

I had a wonderful stay at Eningu. The staff were very warm and friendly. The food was delicious, and I appreciated the chef going the extra mile to cater to my dietary restrictions. The rooms and interiors are beautifully decorated. I loved seeing some of Dôrter Berner's sculptures on the premises, as well as her husband's beautiful carpets. I was up early and saw various antelopes. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

What a treat! The lodge is peaceful, comfortable, with great amenities like the volleyball court and the pool. The treks around the lodge were great and informative thanks to the information boxes along the way. The meals at Eningu were the best we had inNamibia -- bravo to the chef! And Christian's hospitality was top-notch.

Eningu Lodge is a treasure. Rustic, homely, warm, beautiful, artistic with excellent service, incredible food. You can tell that there is great pride and care in this lodge. Loved this stay. Absolutely recommended.

We really enjoyed our overnight in Eningu. We were highly welcomed and had the pleasure to enjoy our last day in Africa at that beautiful and unique place. The rooms as well as the swimming pool were totally clean. You could enjoy some hiking trails getting to know more about wildlife and nature around, could chill at the waterhole and watch out for animals or relax at the calm and enjoyable swimming pool area. The food was excellent as well as the service. We also loved to get to know more about the lodge by having a chat with the owner Bettina. It was just a lovely stay and we can recommend 100%. Just a short drive from the airport, this was a perfect place for our family of four (two children under 10) to start our Namibian adventure. The mistake we made was only to stay for one night. This is a magical place. Just because it is so close to Windhoek does not mean one should rush on. The accommodation was beautiful, the food outstanding and our host so helpful and kind. This is somewhere to immerse yourself. To take the time to walk, to explore. We will stay again next time. For longer.

We ended our one month traveling by 4X4 with rooftop tent through Namibia by staying three nights in Eningu and it was perfect! Genuine friendly owner who is frequently around to answer questions, give advice or just talk about life in Afrika. All is tastefully decorated, food comes in beautiful ceramics and tastes delicious. Beautiful rooms, good beds. We loved the place, people and peace. We mainly did nothing there ;) just hang around the pool, read, walk a bit. We would love to return!
